I'm really noob at installing this on VC, even when i install the map after cleaning it, it doesn't load it and to check i used med and the map is there.

Tried on SA and it crash at loading new game.

 

i must've done wrong thing so anyone can tell me the tutorial on how i install this? on all versions (mainly Vice city).

You're gonna need knowledge in editing gtavc.dat, and default.dat in case you're installing it in a separate img.

Okay here's steps i used to install it:

  1. Map cleaner.
  2. converted commer as test with id offset as 640 (first free id was 639).
  3. culling patcher.
  4. coll map convert with game.dtz, gta3ps2.img and nothing on dff (since it says you don't need the dff for vc).
  5. added the files to gta3.img and rebuilt it.
  6. edited gta_vc.dat for col, ipl and ide.
  7. used la 2.0 to allow more.....
  8. test it (new game)

and results are...........game crash.......

i can see the map with med.

 

btw last time i did it, there was no map loaded in game.

Med reads gta_vc.dat, so if you wrote everything correctly, Med will display the map. If you messed up with LA or with matching ids and wrong IDE id offsets, the game will crash.

 

What you should do (or at least what I did):

1 Map Cleaner, making sure Read only of the game directory is unchecked before cleaning

2 Convert colmap selecting game.dtz and gta3ps2.img, Vice City output, id 640

3 Put "colmap" in data\maps

4 Convert ex. COMMER, Vice City output, id (check colmap.IDE and use the next id, ex. colmap:2180 -> commer id:2181), build img, optimise mesh and all that stuff

5 Put COMMER.IMG in models and commer directory in data maps

6 gta_vc.dat:

 

IDE DATA\MAPS\COLMAP\colmap.IDE

IDE DATA\MAPS\COMMER\commer.IDE

 

COLFILE 0 DATA\MAPS\COLMAP\COLMAP.COL

COLFILE 0 DATA\MAPS\COMMER\COMMER.COL

 

IPL DATA\MAPS\COLMAP\colmap.ipl

IPL DATA\MAPS\COMMER\commer.ipl

 

7 default.dat:

 

#data images

CDIMAGE MODELS\COMMER.IMG

8 Use VC Limit Adjuster

9 Voilà!

 

But, if you do what you previously did, then everything should run well... So you must be doing something wrong with the Limit Adjuster. I recommend using LA v1.0 by steve-m, which is more stable, and change the limits. LA v2 beta 6 is used only in neccessity...

Or, you must be doing something wrong with the colmap id offset if you didn't previously check on commer.IDE last entry id.

Hi ! first i want to say awesome job dude and in the second place can you please tell me the name of dff and txd files of Joey's garage from GTA:III LCS ? here is a picture to understand exactly what i mean:

I don't believe that an interior of Joey's Garage appears in LCS. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I always thought, that Joey's garage is used in Transfener car mod shop in SA.

It is, they reused Joey's Garage's interior for the Transfender Mod Shop in SA, with a few edits.

And to get back to maps, I have noticed that when I convert the VCS colmap, my game crashes...

First collision (large stretched cube) is broken. Delete this cube, optimise collision and game will run

Not a dummy but yes. Convert the dynamic collision objects, replace objects accordingly. Just like you did for LCS.

In ps2 all trees models located in gta3ps2.img and placed through DTZ. You can use col map to restore missing trees
