Paying For Full Amour When You Only Need 10%

Recommended Posts

We don't have to pay the full amount for ammo if we use the purchase all ammo choice so why do we have to pay $500 everytime for amour even if we only need 10 or 20% of the amour since the rest of it is still there but that little bit.

Since we are all grinding for money now $500 over time adds up to a good chunk of change

I don't use armour anymore, find it useless as well. During missions, you can just go behind cover and use the the snack bar glitch(?) whilst still in cover. So much beneficial than the overpriced armour

Well in real life actual body armour has Kevlar plate inserts. After a good hit the strength of the Kevlar plates is weakened significantly and the structural integrity can't be guranteed and this is why when your body armour or helmet has taken a good knock you're meant to report it and get a brand new one straight away. Hence why you have to pay $480 each time even if you have half left.

GTA wise I always purchase it before missions, it gives me an extra 3 - 4 hits before I die which gives you more time to react to the threat. Plus if you earn $12,000 - $15,000 each mission you're not making a loss.

For those complaining about body armour going down when hit by a car or falling. When real body armour is damaged in any way, car accident, hit by a bat, stabbed, dropped from a height it has to be replaced. The plates inside the vest are typically only designed for one time use. Any damage can fracture or badly damage them causing them to not work as effectively next time. Even though the damage isn't visible it is there. This may explain why body armour in GTA is easy to damage.

IRL body armor is based on ratings. If you want top of the line stuff you're getting kevlar woven into that new silky crap some desert dweller discovered with steel plating and ceramic over-tiles. The ceramic shatters causing bullet power to dissipate. The steel eats the rest of the round's power. Still hurts like 3 b!tches in a flipped boat but you'll live.

If you're lucky, very lucky, the bullet fired at you will hit one of these spots and not in between where you only have the resistant fibers. Again, you'll most likely live. But you wont be happy.

Have you seen the shockwave a 7.62x39 makes on flesh? It's enough to cause organ failure just from the initial strike of bullet to body. Body armor can only do so much to protect a person.

I made 200k in an hour last night, 500$ to make sure I don't have to watch half the mission spectating. Seems worth it.

So I flipped my comet down a hillside. The lost following me on a bike not only rode down the impossible grade but were shooting and hitting me as my car corkscrewed through the air. When I Ianded they were right there and shot me through the windshield. Not sure anything but armor would have saved me there.

I stopped buying armor. After reading posts here claiming it was a waste, I started to notice that it is. Armor adds maybe one bullet of health to you, which is worthless in missions and not worth the price. In a deathmatch, 1 bullet might matter, if I played them. As long as the game steals my ammo, I'm not playing TDM.

Stupid thing's about body armor

- Can't cover it with a shirt but,you can cover it with a jacket

- Can't change the colour - only option is to downgrade and only 4 options

- In every GTA title - armor was just a colour bar (t shirts are promoted in this version yet, wearing a vest covers it)

- In all previous titles of GTA,you could take more hit's

- Car accidents shouldn't degrade the strength (imaginary seat belts - no more through the windshield)

- Even when you are hit,it's always a through and through

- Cost (over time add's up)

- You can share weapons, not vest (throw or drop it for a shot up teammate)

- As the title say's - have to pay full when you only need 10%

- Should be a turn off option at the start of missions so you don't accidentally buy it every time

I know some have been mentioned and I took that in account. Feel free to add more. Maybe we could compile a list and send it off to Rockstar.

Body armor saved my *ss a lot when I was a low level. Being over level 100 I don't really need it with how much health I have now.

You can, after I bought super heavy body armor I could switch to standard body armor and still have a full body armor bar.

armor grants u something near 3 hits before ur health starts to get affected (most expensive armor)

- Car accidents shouldn't degrade the strength (imaginary seat belts - no more through the windshield)

in gta4 your health got decreased right? meh..dont care bout that but taking 1/4th of a full bar because you tap ur front into a wall is rubbish

just watch what youre doing?
