Biffle must be in full meltdown mode in the car. FOX just reported that the team somehow managed to put left side tires on the right side of the car which caused the tire on the right rear to explode.

edit: Truex, Jr. is reporting a vibration.

Well, looks like someone is getting a pay cut...

the Biffle thing? yeah, I don't think Jack Roush is going to be thrilled with that at all. I don't think you really blame that on the tire changer or carrier, that is more on whoever gave the tire carrier the wrong tire.

Now Logano is reporting a vibration. Lot of drivers have reported vibrations today. Seems like the Daytona of old is coming back with the surface getting worn down.

lot of penalties on this round of green flag pit stops - uncontrolled tire on Waltrip, both Johnson and Danica got penalized for their crews being over the wall too early.

possible loose wheel for Bowyer and McDowell stalled on pit road.

green flag pit stops at Daytona sure are crazy.

edit: Michael Waltrip has been given the black flag for not serving his penalty.

Bob Pockrass is saying that Danica wrecked on the backstretch, but of course there has to be a commercial.

Fox was doing a side-by-side commercial and they cut to Danica's car part way through the wreck. She took herself out on that one.

man that area where they have the curbing for the Rolex 24 launched the #10 into the air.

I don't know which part was more amazing, Denny making the outside line move, or the fact nobody finished upside down. Matt did a great job keeping that car from spinning, and he had a lot of restraint to not completely cut off Denny and wipe out the field. However, that certainly would've made for a crazier finish.

What did everyone think of the overall race? I didn't think it was that great, the problem is nobody ever wants to pass.

I was mad all day cause Jr. got shuffled to the back and couldn't recover. Then when he finally gets back to the front, calamity corner strikes him.

The finish was crazy, and I could've done without Hamlin winning, but it was crazy nonetheless. For once someone actually tried to pass the leader in one of these races. I wish Truex won though, and everyone thought he had it after the first angle.

Truex should have done what Chase Elliott did in the Xfinity Series race yesterday, and run Hamlin up the track to keep him from getting by.

I am just glad that they made it without someone getting launched into the catchfencing.

I also never would have expected Kasey Kahne to be the highest finishing Hendrick driver (13th).

Stewart-Haas Racing posted on their website (and then took it down right after) that Ty Dillon will drive the #14 in three of the next 4 races and Brian Vickers will be back in the car at Las Vegas -

Aaron's is sponsoring Michael Waltrip too. Their logo was on the rear quarter panels of the #83 car at Daytona, and it was announced a few days ago that they signed a multi-year deal with Waltrip - http://autoweek.com/article/nascar-sprint-cup/michael-waltrip-signs-nascar-deal-longtime-sponsor-aarons

Hendrick Motorsports paint schemes for Atlanta -

BREAKING NEWS: Stewart-Haas Racing has announced that they will be switching manufactures in 2017. They are going from Chevrolet to Ford and will run Roush-Yates Engines. That will also end Kevin Harvick's long time association with Chevrolet.

That came as a huge surprise to me seeing as how much of a Chevrolet/GM guy that Tony Stewart is.

Man when I saw this on Reddit earlier I honestly thought it was a prank. It literally makes no sense. Hendrick has some of the best engines out there and considering how how dominant the team has been (or at least Harvick and Busch), it's weird seeing them switch.

I don't even know how Tony allowed this, cause yeah he's a Chevy guy. He even left Gibbs cause he didn't want to race in a Toyota. Maybe Gene Haas wanted it, but it really is weird. It will bring back memories of Kurt's Roush days though.

$$$$$.

Ford was willing to throw more money at them than Chevy was, simple as that. I had also heard Rick Hendrick had been wanting to dissolve the partnership for a while. CGR had been rumored to go with Ford as well.

This is good and bad news for RFR. More race winning teams to feed off of for information, but they have to take a smaller slice of Ford's resources.

I really like that Biffle scheme.

I like how even though they're basically unsponsored for this race, they still make the most out of it and design a great scheme. That's one thing I like about Roush.

I thought the race was pretty exciting besides it being the Toyota and Toyota Show. There weren't a whole lot of lead changes, but the was a lot of close racing and bobbing around in packs, and it wasn't all single file. There may not have been a whole lot of passing, but the racing was still very close. And it ended in classic Daytona fashion, save for the flying car(s) crossing the line.

I foresee Toyota becoming the dominant manufacturer (they've show they're willing to invest the $$$ where GM and Ford wouldn't) and Gibbs taking Hendrick's spot as the top team in NASCAR very soon.

I didn't mind the racing, but it would've been much better if it wasn't all teammates up front that allow nobody to pass. I'm sure people felt annoyed when Dale, Jimmie and Jeff were domination the plate races last year. I really wish they'd find something similar to the 2000s package, more specifically 2001. That had some of the best plate racing.

I'm just glad the tandems are gone.

Hmm Larson quickest in practice, I think he'll be strong this year. This new package should fit right into his hands.
