Ex Hellraiser 301 Posted April 21, 2014 Well, Pro Cup is still used by NASCAR for scouting development drivers. A lot of drivers like Chase Elliott started out there. The upside to Pro Cup is that you only have to be 15 to race in it, so those that have stock car talent almost unanimously start out there.
Gutslab 1,974 Posted April 21, 2014 Besides Chase, I couldn't find anyone else in the last few years who made his way up through that series. K&N east and west are where most upcoming drivers come from, including Larson, Kwasniewski, Ryan Blaney and Darrell Wallace Jr.
Ex Hellraiser 301 Posted April 22, 2014 (edited) Joey Logano, Trevor Bayne, Landon Cassill, and Dakoda Armstrong are a few that started in Pro Cup. Edited April 22, 2014 by Ex Hellraiser
Gutslab 1,974 Posted April 22, 2014 (edited) yes you're right but that's going quite a bit back now...I was just saying that in current times (within last 5 yrs), there have been very few drivers that moved up from pro cup. It would be suicide for a driver to think they could move up the ladder to nascar by racing in pro cup right now. And Landon only made one pro cup start in '08, while Dakoda made two pro cup starts in' 08. The experience they got from pro cup didn't expand their careers. Dakoda shined in ARCA, which is what helped him get noticed. As for Landon, I'm just gonna say he was really rich cause in '07 he had a Hendrick ride in busch as a 17 year old lol Edited April 22, 2014 by pokemon4ever

Ex Hellraiser 301 Posted April 27, 2014 Goddammit! Gordon almost had that one!! So close, oh well. He's still 1st in points, which is a guaranteed spot in the Chase, win or not.

GunWrath 3,133 Posted April 27, 2014 NASCAR is more entertaining in person rather than television, though a lot of sports are, such as baseball and golf. I haven't been too deep into NASCAR over the last couple years but I used to be a hardcore fan. Racing in general honestly, especially dirt tracks. Sprint cars, go-karts, enduro races.. they're all pretty fun and nice to watch if you're on the track. We have a track here locally that's just superb for dirt track racing. Oglethorpe Raceway, spent many of beer fueled nights there like any redneck would, howling at the drivers, watching pit crew fights and what not. NASCAR has taken a PG-13 approach over the years and has steered me away from it. I'll catch a race every now and then if I have nothing better to do on a Sunday.. either way, Gordon is the f*cking King.
Zepren 218 Posted May 5, 2014 Following all the headlines I'm seeing, I kind of regret skipping the race last night. I've been pretty bad at this whole "watch some nascar" thing. I'm sure I'll get stuck in when it comes to the chase yo.
iRacing 38 Posted May 6, 2014 (edited) Most of the tactics of nascar involve drafting. And that's pretty much it Only drafting? Let me guess, you're one of those kids who watches the Daytona 500 and instantly assumes that everything you see must be everything. Am I assuming right? Ex Hellraiser 301 Posted May 11, 2014 (edited) So guess who won at Kansas for the 3rd time? Gordon, bitch! Hell yeah!! For once, there wasn't an idiot throwing a caution in the last 5 laps to screw it up. He was leading near the end and it was actually able to stay green all the way! Gutslab 1,974 Posted May 11, 2014 (edited) missed the race but I'm glad gordon won. He's probably my favorite driver and one of the few likeable drivers in nascar right now Edited May 11, 2014 by pokemon4ever

GTA3Rockstar 2,644 Posted May 12, 2014 Him and Dale Jr are my two favorite drivers. Its just too bad he's really just driving around with a name. Not really a fan of NASCAR but I always liked Gordan, I turned it to the race with less than 30 laps and watched it there; first time in awhile.

I think that's how most people watch NASCAR, I usually turn it on with a few laps to go or start watching it and then leave to do something then by the time I get back its over

Choymz 126 Posted August 10, 2014 Tony Stewart might be in deep sh*t............ http://carolinasportsthoughts.blogspot.com.au/2014/08/tony-stewart-runs-over-competitor-in.html?m=

theGTAking101 2,323 Posted August 10, 2014 People are saying Tony hit him on purpose, no he didn't. Kevin Ward got out of his car and ran on the track and ran in front of Stewart's car. This sucks but Tony did nothing wrong. I wonder how this is gonna affect the race tomorrow, as I doubt Tony will be in the race.

EDIT: Its confirmed by authorities I saw somewhere that Max Papis was gonna do it but thinking now it would make sense to have Smith in the car as he replaced Dale Jr. for 2 races in 2012. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Edited August 10, 2014 by theGTAking101
