What's Up With eCola, Pisswasser, etc?

When looking at possible Actions, aside from gestures, you have Eat Snack, Drink Pisswasser, and Drink eCola. The last two were always grayed-out, but I finally figured out you had to go to the store and buy them. So I went to the store and bought as much of everything they had as I could. Aside from cigs, (why no cigars?), and the aforementioned items, there were some other snack-type things.

Now, my question is: What are these things good for? The other items don't appear in the Actions Menu - perhaps they all fall under Snacks? And it seems you can't access any of these items during Missions, which is where I usually need some extra Health. So, again, what are these things good for? Assuming they bump up Health, is one item better than another? Anything you can tell me about this stuff would be appreciated.

Pisswasser can make you pass out in free roam and wake up at a hospital.

Ecola prior to the update could only be used in cars but you can now use it when in cover to instantly replenish health. You can also donit whilst aiming.

Edit : you have to do the latter from your inventory via holding select - not as an action

In the back button menu under Inventory can be found your snacks individually listed as P's & Q's, Egochasers, and Meteorites. Also drinks and smokes are there. I think the Meteorites heal the most but their max is the lowest (maybe 10 bars) you can buy in the market. Some markets will run out of items then display a "lock" icon. You can buy more from another store until you are "FULL". Whereas Ps & Qs heal the least but you can max them out at the store to like 20 but you can go over that max by collecting them from NPCs. The most I ever had was 89 i think. If you take cover then eat them thru the back button inventory they will heal you instantly rather than over time like if u are just standing there eating it on the street slow style via double stick press "Action".

Oh, ok. I thought I was maxed out when it said the Store was out. That would be a pain, since you'd have to drive all over hell to hit more than one or two stores. Not really worth it.

I hadn't noticed they could be accessed via the Inventory Menu. Good to know which items are best.

Somewhat off-topic, (I guess I can highjack my own thread), but why aren't there any power-ups in our safehouses? One of the main reasons you want to get off the street is to get your sh*t back together, right? And you can only swig one glass of Green Juice. Am I missing something?

Buying beer and cigarettes is useless... I just buy snacks as health packs for missions. Quick heal when you're in a Buzzard.

Snacks and drinks for health, quick action in cover for easy replenishment. P&Qs are small increments, Meteorites are bigger increments, and eColas will refill health at a machine.

Anyone ever notice their character gets stressed? If you rob a few stores or play for a while, I'm not sure what triggers it, but your char will assume the aggressive stance and run, rather than normal walking, and it doesn't really go away, even into the garage. I thought cool - maybe this is what Redwoods are for, why have that tooltip to smoke but watch your health? But I tried it, and it doesn't take the stress away.

When I need snacks as quick as possible during a mission, it's easier to scroll down and find the snacks right away. Having to cycle through the beer and cigarettes can mean the difference between a bullet hitting you in the head and you getting some health back.

You can use the eat snack during missions I use it I'm case I need to during rooftop rumble

Yeah, I just figured that out. I was trying to do it through the Action Menu, but, if I remember right, you have to drop your weapon for it to work. But it works fine via the Inventory Menu, weapon in hand.

I like drinking beers before a race / parachute ;p If you select it as your "winning" pose you can press and keep hold of X / A to do the animation prior to launching, if you press and keep hold you will neck the beer. A good 4 or 5 before plummeting 1000s of feet is quite fun :D

Also i have mentioned it above but you can actually use candy's (hmmm im being Americanised) or soda (again) whilst aiming down your barrel - Kind of helpful if you have nowhere to take cover

Maybe you're becoming southern-ized? Try becoming Chicago-ized by saying "candy" and "pop." What do you call it?

  • 2 weeks later...

How do people not know more about this. If I die in a Survival and I'm watching the last guy battle a helicopter I'm always thinking, "Why is this guy not eating his candy?"

They seem to never take cover and eat. EAT DAMMIT! Do not lose this for us in the 9th round!
