why does the mechanic no longer deliver?

Don't really understand rockstars decision to remove the mechanic and just have the vehicle spawn. Now it seems like theres no point having the mechanic in the game.

 

Any ideas?

Probably due to the amount of emo tears from little priss' that didnt like the way the Mechanic worked.

 

I have to say it was mildly annoying him driving AWAY from you just for him to turn around and come back 10 mins later - also him stealing the car back off you driving off and leaving you to deal with the cops... Not annoying enough for it to be changed though.

 

Quick fix maybe till they iron it out? I dunno. Your guess is as good as mine.

to be honest i hated the waste of space. the new spawn a car tactic really nails it for me just my opinion.

 

besides he hardly ever got it right, to begin with he wouldnt even deliver your car properly.

 

I got killed so many times because of that mofo revenge is sweet though. problem removed. now to remove his incredibly annoying voice also.

He is not a cheufur. He got sick of being sent to the hospital so he parks it down the street and legs it. Are you suggesting they get rid of vehicle repair from the garage?

I'm annoyed that it's gone, it now spawns about 20 bloody metres away, which is quite a long run, and it also takes much longer than it used. He used to deliver it right next to me in seconds last time, it was perfect.

Have you ever tried calling him to deliver your ride while standing anywhere on the side of the freeway?

 

Only to have him spawn in your vehicle directly across from you---but on the OPPOSITE side of the freeway which has a concrete divider separating you?

 

So you get to watch him spend the next 10 game mins driving IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION---aka AWAY FROM YOU---just to find the nearest overpass or break in the freeway median. Just so that he can cross to YOUR side of the freeway and finally drive the car to your location?

 

And you then get to watch in frustration as he abandons your vehicle some several hundred feet down the road--- after NOT leaving the car at the closest point where he initially spawned --- aka directly across from you?

 

Trust me when I say the changes they made to this original game play feature, was one of the biggest improvements in GTAO play (next to busting the cheaters & hackers). Because the original mechanic car delivery had to be one of the most inefficient and poorly thought out things that R* designed for GTAO. Can't tell you how many times I got stranded and ended up failing time sensitive missions. All because the damned mechanic couldn't figure out how to stop the flipping car---because his AI failed to recognize the fact that my char was directly across from him on the road/freeway. Or how to effectively navigate the traffic to reach me if he spawned on the opposite side of the street

The Worst Thing about this is that Sanchez are mostly spawning on Dirt Roads not on a Street near you.

Atleast he delivered it but now I have to walk 2 Minutes because that Damn Sanchez spawned on a Dirt Road...

As bad as the mechanic sometimes was, it's now worse, because there are times when the car spawns a couple of blocks away and at least when the mechanic was there he'd eventually drive it somewhat closer (yeah, there would be times when he wouldn't, but at least sometimes he did.) Now it just spawns not near you and that's it.

Only problem i ever had with my mechanic was one time i tried getting in my car, accidentally knocked him over. He raged and threw me out of the car. Then hopped in a sped off, but after about 20 feet he stopped, got out and said one of his one liners and dissapeared.

He had something to do with the insurance scheme in slot 1 and slot 6 and also caught a meth charge...I heard FIB put a ankle monitor on him so he cant leave the house..

my only complaint about calling the mechanic, or really about calling any contact, is how much time it takes to scroll through contacts, find who you want (mechanic, merry,lester), wait for a few rings of the phone, and then the list of options appear. When you're in the middle of some serious action, every second counts. I get the 'realism' of using an actual cell phone, but I much rather just click the contact name and the options appear.
