To all the people claiming that this is common sense, of course it is but to be honest there's pretty much one video I can find that explains how to look like the military. The other video was actually harder and more complicated in the aspect that the items that you needed to look like the military we're for a higher level. This is pretty much a more efficient way to get the outfit and im just trying to get that out there.

I wear that often for some reasons. By the way soldiers dont always wear camo suits.

Of course not, but the soldiers in Grand theft Auto 5 or ONLINE always do :p

Note- You don't have to wear it all the time anyway.

OP, people have given you some constructive criticism. Don't look down on them like you're some kind of god because you can use Windows Movie Maker.

 

O/T: The font kinda sucks and you have a voice right? Use it. Also try plan ahead -- I came to the video to see get some army swag, not look at sandals with you.

If you're going to pimp for likes etc, take heed of what guys like Kyr Sp33dy and his crew do - a short intro then straight to the action.

 

Listening to a voice asking for likes or subscribes or comments, all sounds a little desperate to me.

:^: I wish the YouTube would think a lot more like you, I don't need a reminder about liking a certain video, I'll do that if I find the video entertaining myself but forcing me to like, comment or subscribe is a definite no no.

Depends for me. Don't really use Youtube much anymore, but there's a few Youtubers* I've followed in the past that have done that, but they were the ones with guaranteed quality anyway so it didn't really bother me.

 

Like if NicePeter were to ask for a like at the end of an Epic Rap Battle of History vid, I'd be cool with that.

you could have used a pic of some of the clothing items, or you know, something more relevant

I was trying to find something better but of course you wouldn't know how editing works because your the viewer.

The thumbnail again is irrelevant, the content is what matters and if you don't like it drop a dislike now if you do like the content that is great.

First off, you might want to have a read through this thread; http://gtaforums.com/topic/682024-a-message-to-gta-online-youtubers/

 

It helps to actually know this community when posting vids etc... That sh*t don't go over well.

 

Second, I made a little video myself that is for those that take the "smash the like button" approach (and to those that publich glitches)...

 

Third - I've never been the DB that does that kinda crap. People know how to 'like' things and how to subscribe. It's pure fckn cheese. Yer not gonna get rich nor famous, just make them cause u enjoy sharing with those that have a passion for the game, as U do.

 

Fourth - read my comments in that thread, I work in marketing and take apart the patents for the ranking mechanisms over there. Believe me, explicit user feedback signals aren't the core of ranking, (nor are the endless reams of keywords at the end). Don't get hung up on it.

WTF man? You obviously haven't a clue how YouTube ranks things. Keyword stuffing/spamming went south almost 10 years ago in search. And look at some of the sh*t in there. You really think that's a good user experience? Again, look at my vids... NEVER EVER are such tactics employed. Have some respect for your viewers yea?

I suspect this culture of 'like whoring' is down to certain groups on Youtube, like Machinima, that did (or still do, I don't know) do stuff based on likes as a metric - for their content creators, I mean. From there, it catches on.

Yea, it's kinda sad. Again, I work in marketing (search engine/social) and there's programs as well as services people can buy that give 'likes' '+1s' etc... (Facebook, YouTube, Google Plus etc). This is kinda why those signals (explicit user feedback) aren't really used as a core metric by Google/YouTube for ranking things. It's just far to easy to spam. Sadly, most if not all YouTubers, haven't a clue how those mechanisms work and give the end user a sh*t experience for little or no gain (and make themselves look like DBs in the process.

Here's the problem. We dont need your opinion on how to dress in camo. No one is watching your video and going " OH THANK GOD FINALLY A TUTORIAL ON HOW TO DRESS MYSELF"

 

This video would only be necessary if it showed and unusual combo that you couldn't just pick off the shelf. Remember if you have nothin important to say don't say anything.

I've taken the decision to take the video down considering all of the hate and criticism I got.

I will be taking these things to account from now on and thanks for the feedback and advice. I will also like to note that I am fairly new to the community so I might be a little inexperienced with what the community wants and needs.

Nothing against people reminding viewers to like and subscribe. Just there are ways to do it and not sound desperate. Also, thanking your likers and subscribers for their continued support is always a good move.
