Race Checkpoints

So I've been racing a lot lately and have occasionally run into the problem of being told I missed a checkpoint. Now, a couple of times they were in turns, so I'm sure I must have just cut the corner too sharp, but other times they're on straightaways, while I'm following a pack of racers. Basically, a situation where it's not possible for me to have missed it, and nobody else. Particularly when I'm slipstreaming with a racer that doesn't have to go back.

 

Is anyone else having this same problem? Or am I just delusional?

In the R* verified '4 Way Madness' I nearly always miss the second to last checkpoint (even if my cars clipping into it) it really pisses me of every time that happens, Its made me loose the race twice in a full game. It makes me think they don't even check for bugs in verified maps because quite a few more have glitches just like this.
