The Mechanic after 1.10

I will say that he was a dick sometimes(like at Simeon's docks, driving around in circles and not stopping) and sometimes driving away from me or not spawning. But 90% of the time he would work. I liked having him drive my car up to me and leave it running instead of having to run to the car that spawned down the road and still have to start it.

 

If im in a huge battle and need to get out of the area ASAP, I would prefer having my car being driven next to me than have to run down the road to get it...Even 2 seconds could make a huge difference. :3

Kinda miss the mechanic. He was annoying as f*ck, but at least he would drive the car to me. After the update, I find my car spawning over the other side of buildings and stuff.

 

The guy was a pain in the ass, but I do miss his stupid ass.

There is so much hate on the mechanic and Rockstar knows this. I bet they took him away to get us to ask to have him added back. "Ohh the Mechanic was so irritating eh? OK *poof* hes gone and now you have to run your asses over there to get your car, no more quick getaways. Hes gone, shut the f*ck up." Then we start asking to have him back so they add him back and say "See? he wasn't that bad". then we all feel like assholes and go back to savagely beating him when he fails to do his god damn job which we pay him to do... the world is right again.

I miss the day I was at LSC and just cashed in on a car. I called him,showed up with my ride (mentioned the scratch thing) and I drilled him and put him through my windshield. Quickest and funniest 23 bucks I ever made thus far.

Rockstar - bring back Johnny on the spot - off Lemar instead.

I curse a lot thanks to him, I insult him a lot, I beat him up a lot, he took revenge on me, he beat me up sometimes as revenge because he had enough of me and decided to take a class in fighting (o.O), he parked my car in the water as revenge, he scratched my car, he took my car for a joyride, but I still miss that son of a bitch because, even though he was annoying, we had something special.

 

Something that special, that in this abusive relationship, we still loved each other. <3

He'd (90% of the time) deliver my cars when I ask it, and right after he delivered it, calls me again and asks if I need a car I just gotta call him.

That's a good strategy for Rockstar. They should try it with cash cards.

 

What's even worse is that now the mechanic is demoted to the status of just another NPC. I needed to jack a car tonight near the LS airport LSC, and I stepped in front of the first one to come along. Yanked out the driver, and it was the Mechanic!

 

 

Before I could get away, I got into a bit of a row with some of the locals, and ambulance and police, and so when I finally got clear I jacked another car that came along (same model as the first one, of course), and there he was again!

 

 

Now he's just another nameless NPC driver -- what a bringdown

I don't understand people here. I've seen a lot of complains against the mechanic not giving the car correctly, going mad... But you miss him ?

 

I like it better now. The car is placed near my character, no silly things, just the car, where it's supposed to be.

Mechanic sucked.

His only use was to be killed each time he arrived.

He used to troll you sometimes by driving your car off and letting you chase him or parking somewhere miles away and waiting for you to find him.

That used to be annoying as hell.

Sure this is less realistic and breaks immersion a bit but I think in gameplay terms its probably better now

I hated yet,loved the poor f*ck and if you asked me.....off Lamar/Gerald/Simone or that other piece of sh*t that bug's you to go skydiving.

The mechanic should be doing Simone's role. Probably pay better too.

So everyone moans about the mechanic when its in the game but when they remove it they suddenly love it and are all like "remember the days when your mechanic delivered your car, it was much better"
