I doubt they'll make the hair move or have long hairstyles. Which is disappointing. I think a majority of the clothes and character features will be more or less the same, just update them more in future. But we'll see

I am looking forward to using the character creator to refine my existing character. Hairstyles and clothing has been fine generally, and I was so happy to get shiny black leggings, thick-rimmed glasses and more off-shoulder tops in the Hipster update (my fave look!)... but more hairstyles (I appreciate restrictions on LONG long hair but more shoulder-length stuff would be cool), makeup and accessories would be very much appreciated!

 

I'd also want to make my character shorter and much less manly

I'm going to mod in some replacement hairstyles because the current ones are just heinous... Over the shoulder braid, Elsa (frozen) style. My signature do. God I love PC modding haha.

 

My main concern is clothing. While we have a lot of variety in terms of patterns and colours, I think the styles themselves are a little bit... shallow (in terms of female clothing anyway). There's only one type of dress, and it isn't nice. I dunno, I just have a lot of trouble finding good matching outfits. I think the main problem is the female body shapes are so frumpy and saggy that's its hard to find something that looks good on them.

The problem with long hair is that it isn't easy to handle in a 3D environment. I don't know what kind of particle system R* uses but it would have to be pretty graphically intense to deal with the things long hair can do. So, unless they decide lots of "poke through" is acceptable I doubt we'll see it anytime soon. Short hair would benefit from better particle systems but the way they are now it doesn't draw attention (much) when the hair just sits there like a lump.

It looks like the hair physics are drastically improved for the current gen version coming next Tuesday.

 

If you look at one of the trailers comparison, Floyd's hair is moving once he hit the ground (compared to "fixed" hair physics on 360/PS3).

Looking at this photo makes me wonder if we can change the body type, but I don't see that as an option unless it came under appearance (which I doubt) and features, I'm assuming is just the face. All female avatars need a breast lift asap. Nonetheless the new creator looks so much better (and I'm sure it will be) than what we have now and I'm glad for everyone who gets the next gen version that they'll be able to hopefully have a little more fun making their avatar without puking..

Don't compare NPC to the character we use. They come from different planning and method.

Did you read the first post? I'm guessing you didn't. No one is talking about fapping to blue nipples so your quote is completely out of context since the thread was bumped by the OP. The thread is quite old and the topic (I believe along with the title) has evolved since then. It's not just about hair although that was the original concern I believe. It also includes outfits and discussion of body type which has been done before IN THIS THREAD since many people do not like the way their outfits look because of the shape of the women, which is poor. It's okay to be slow don't worry.

This is spot on. They have a much higher degree of control over what the NPC's do so it's possible to make all sorts of things, long hair among them, work that we will have a much harder time getting. There is already serious poke-through issues that they apparently didn't find abhorrent enough to address. But of course on the other side if they did give us longer hair and it poked through everything people would complain about that. We are a rather needy lot.

 

And, yes, the breast issue has little excuse and is just sad. And I don't ever care if they give us breast physics.
