wiizardii Posted February 15, 2014 Share Posted February 15, 2014 (edited) Basically, Michael Townley ''side'' of him was before the botched planned robbery in 2004 (Prologue) And Michael De Santa ''side'' of him IS OBVIOUSLY during his time in LS and coming back from being a retired bank robber and robbing banks again. I personally like the Townley side more, because he was more badass at the time, known as ''America's most wanted man'' or something in that line. So yeah. Wich side do you like him as more? PS: Alright, before anyone comes and says ''Dude, obviously everyone is gunna say that Michael Townley side of him is more badass because he was much more cooler at that time, your thread sucks!!!! bla bla bla''. Look, this is all about opinion. Everyone has their own taste. Anyone can think Justin Bieber is more badass than 2pac, etc.. Well man, seeing of how he was in the Prolouge, reading about his past in Wikias, and all that. He was a criminal in NY dude. He married a stripper, was known as americas most wanted man, ( it was true, beileve me on that), He f*cked his wife twice, he was a big criminal, was in prison TWICE at the age of 19/20 , and yeah. Or when he tears down Madrazo's house. He seems to be more or less the same person before and after he went into the witness protection program. Out of all 3 characters, he feels the most real, you know what I mean? He's relatable. lizardman563 Posted February 17, 2014 Share Posted February 17, 2014 (edited) I like Michael. He is the average man. The man we all are, minus the criminal part. My favorite character by far. Very deep story, complicated guy. You can never truly figure Michael out, which is why he's such a great character in my opinion. I mean, don't get me wrong, Franklin and Trev' are great, but they become very predictable. Franklin is just looking to make bank and make friends, and is quite lethal. Through character-switch scenarios and when he gets high, we can clearly tell that he is depressed, or lonely. Trevor is a manic-depressive with tendencies to break out in rage filled, violent fits, but he accepts who he is. Mike on the other hand, who is he? I don't know. He's nostalgic. He longs for the old days but hates them at the same time. He's a family man, he loves his family but cannot figure out why they don't love him, yet he hates himself. He is a criminal. He was a criminal. He is emotionally conflicted. He wants to do what is right, but his street smarts tell him to do what is best for HIM. This is a source of conflict for him throughout the entire game. Overall, he's just a cool character. qfs Posted February 17, 2014 Share Posted February 17, 2014 (edited) My conclusion from this, without having played the game, is that we would have enjoyed more mike's part in the story when he was younger, as michael townley. Heck, that could it given us a single character for the gta v story, with america's most wanted man, marrying a stripper, bank robberies, bad ass criminal, in jail two times (we could have used the interiors of the prison in this gtav). But that was in NY, now he is in San Adreas, so we are playing with his 2nd life. Let's see what story dlc r* brings for our characters.
