had this a few times now.. Line up target in sniper sights.. Can't pull trigger...

anyone else had this happen?

 

and no they weren't on passive...

No I don't know what the hell that is. I've had it happen on occasion where the game acts a if the player is an npc your not supposed to kill and you can shoot around them but as soon as the cursor move over them the gun stops shooting.

 

Rare and I don't think it's a cheating thing. Maybe a bug with passive or something.

Yea, kinda had this with one of my victims. After a few minutes of, she suddenly appeared in passive mode.

 

Maybe it takes some time before people har marked as passive players?

its a passive mode bug im assuming, the icon doesn't change unless you get really close to them

Yes.

 

Sometimes players appear as not passive, but they still are.

 

If the player OP is talking about was armed I have no idea...

It's passive. I've had the same thing happen. It's like their dot doesn't show up right if they are in your scope, but it's definitely passive.

 

I've had it happen in mission where a good guy and a bad guy were standing right next to each other so it confused me.

 

Also check to see if the friendly fire thing is set to Low, that might be a problem as well.

Getting back on this... (apologies a friend and a bottle of whiskey kind of interupted my flow a bit..)

 

No, the times this has happened the person hasn't been marked as passive, then they run towards me, then suddenly shoot me.. in one instance they were doing it multiple times as well, so it my not have been passive - esp given the time span between going in and out of passive..

 

I may try running them over (with a tank) next time.. to see if I get a passive kill penalty against me... :/
