How was your day?

Yeah, I feel ya on that one. Eventually those symptoms will go away if you discover something new that takes your mind off of it.

Strangely enough today I've barely thought about it, up until now. Definitely not as bad today.

It's usually when I have downtime or my mind isn't occupied that the feeling comes back again, I just need to find things to keep my brain 'wired'. Video Games were always a really easy option for the dopamine release.

It's why I think colouring or drawing would be perfect for me, because it'll keep my hands and eyes busy. I do think Reading will be enjoyable as well, but not quite as much as those two other options.

Still think you were crazy for selling your ps4.

I spent some time with my favorite roof contractor this morning.   Philadelphia and contractors is something else.  I'm pretty sure there is no way to explain it.   My roofer is very much south philly.  So, if you've ever seen Jersey Shore...there ya go.

Today was a bit surreal.

I was standing on the main floor of an exhibition centre. There were planes flying low nearby because it was right next to an airport. There were life size Star Wars vehicles behind me while I waited in a queue. Then, I saw maybe three or four big guys in suits walk by me. After a quick look, I realised that I was one bodyguard away from Jean Claude Van Damme.

Rubbish. I went out MTB cycling with my son. It was his first ride out since he came off and bust his collarbone a couple of months back.

I picked up a puncture on the back, not usually a problem, but I had new tyres on as well. You know what they are like when new, no give in them whatsoever. Levering the tyre back on with all my might I nipped the spare tube and tore a hole in it. Gaaahhh!!!

Luckily, we weren't too far from home and the wife came out to rescue us in her Land Rover.

Okay..I guess. At least when I got home. As much as I have liked getting out more, other people are so exhausting to deal with. I really need to get my own car one day so I never have to use public transport ever again. Today felt really long. Since I stopped playing video games, my days have felt extremely long. I pay more attention to the time and it's like I have an infinite amount of free time even after work. Weird how your perspective works sometimes.

Exhausting.  Day off work for Columbus day and this was the day we scheduled to redo our second floor hallway area.

Fresh paint, new light fixtures, sconces, outlets, light switches, and switch plates...blah blah blah.

The painting is the most painful.  So many corners, so much trim and molding, nothing is normal.

Naturally we did 80s music since it is a typical painting montage.

A good, relaxing day that I am hoping gets even better with a response from an ad on kajiji from people selling puppies born in June. They have Boston Terrier/Pug mixes. I lost my two Bostons in February, I miss them more than anything in the world, and I have an 8 month old Pug puppy I would love to get a friend for. I believe every dog deserves a best doggy friend :) I wanted to get a pure Boston like my boys, but, Bostons aren't very cheap, and these Boston/Pug mix puppies are going for $550. Not bad at all.

Why would you buy a puppy when you could adopt one instead?

My day was going fine until I finished my morning cleaning job. Got there earlier than usual so was able to get out earlier. Then I got a fly in my eye while walking home but I was able to blink the sh*t out of it. Then as I was washing my clothes at the launderette some cheeky bastard decided to rinse their hands in the washing machine drawer of the machine I was f*cking using while it was rinsing my clothes so my ocd forced me to wash them again but on a cold wash. I'm never setting off early again.

One hell of a week.

I forgot I took this picture on Tuesday.  So "how was Tuesday".

Waiting in line for my lunch and noticed this.  Oddly fancy for the message it conveys.

"There are no Easter eggs up here! Go way." I must say, I do enjoy little tongue-in-cheek landmarks and symbols like this one.

I've been alright for the most part. My birthday was last Friday, and I travelled out of town to see some friends for my birthday. 🎉

Better.

The past few days have been really bad for me. Not the day themselves, but just my OCD and obsessive thoughts. What I've started to do is say things out loud, but obviously not too loud (I don't want to seem like I'm mentally insane). If I'm heading out, I'll say out loud "The door is locked." it seems to be working so far. It's like confirmation for my brain and just makes me rest easier.  Never thought to try it, but it's much better than the thoughts swirling in my head.

Went to the movies by myself, felt awkward for some reason. I'll never understand why. Joker was dope, though. Joaquin Phoenix deserves many awards.

Insane.

The sh*t I have to do and endure throughout my workday is indescribable.

Damp rainy evening.  I'll take it.  Enjoying my second Pale Ale with my security blanket near, looking forward to sinking into a game.  Not even sure what to play but it will be nice since it just feels like a video game night.

I'm probably getting an Xbox next week. :)

Still have a bit of money leftover from selling my PS4, and I get paid, so I'm just gonna' go for it. Will probably get Game Pass too, as is it too hard to pass up.

I'm going to need some Xbox fwends.

That's what I did when I went cold turkey with Playstation for a year or so. Have the best of both worlds now.

Game Pass is now lumped into the XBox Live Gold subscription, I think. Games with Gold is pretty decent every month. I prefer their monthly selection over PS Plus's offerings.

Gears 5 is my current fave game.

Getting back on topic, I saw Terminator: Dark Fate at the cinema today. I'm a huge fan of the first two movies and was kinda nervous about going to see this one. The combat looked a bit too fluid and detached in the trailer for my liking. Although, I came out of the cinema having enjoyed some bits and feeling disappointed about others.

I legitimately think Game Pass alone could last me for a year at least. The constant new releases & games getting rotated. Plus the fact Halo is on there, and so will be the new one. It seems like there's always something to play. I also like to take my take with games, especially story ones. PS4 really dropped the ball with PS Now.

On the subject of Terminator, I'm probably going to wait until it comes out on Blu Ray. It doesn't seem like a movie that is worth going out of my way to see at the Cinema, but it'll probably be fun enough at home. Can't help but feel they are milking the franchise though.

My day was okay, although I'm getting way more bored now I've placed the seed of getting an Xbox in my head. Just trying to think I'll have one soon, and it'll be worth the wait.

Yeah. There's a good variety on the Game Pass. I think 'play days' are also still a thing too. 'Play' is definitely the key word here.

The running joke, when I first bought an original XBox, was that I'd play it when I wasn't in the mood for gaming. Like it was a casual affair. But the exact opposite happened because  it felt more like gaming. At least, in an old school sense when single player campaign was the main focus. Halo 2 and 3's huge story campaigns were my initiations into XBox and XBox 360. With XB1, I still enjoy a single player experience there more than on Playstation.

Backwards compatibilty is great too. I'm able to keep playing my old 360 collection even though the 360 died years ago. I think XB1 will be a good fit for your single player needs.
