Had a fantastic thanksgiving for 2, everything turned out great, food was fantastic and no drama.  Ate food, drank wine, whisky and spent some great time with my mom. Pretty buzzed and stuffed and sad I have to go back to work tomorrow. Happy thanksgiving everyone! 😀

You ever hang out in a large city?  You know how there is always "crazy" people in cities?

I work in center city(Philadelphia).  We have our fair amount of crazy.

Anyway... I was going to my regular lunch cart for some hotdogs(if you know/heard of The Clothespin - that's where my regular lunch cart is).  There was a crazy person there giving serious mouth to one of the surrounding buildings security guards.   It was getting heated.

So...crazy guy then comes at me and asks me if I saw the movie Coach Carter.  I lied and said "yes".  He was crazy..."no" might have gotten me shot.  Now im his best friend while hes hating the security guy(who i happen to have known for years).

To prove(to the guy he was  mouthing at) that has billions of dollars he paid for my lunch.  After a few times trying to not take the money - I took it.  Not taking it might have gotten me shot.

I didn't leave empty handed.  He signed this for me and everything.  He had a stack of them.  He gave me two...one unsigned.  So two hotdogs and a fake signed picture courtesy of a crazy (looked homeless) guy

*dude looked nothing like the dude in this picture.(not the Sam L one).

One of those days when everything that could go wrong did just that. It took forever to get everything fixed. But, after an excruciating hour on the phone, it's DONE! Belting it out to some Faith No More to relieve the stress. Yeah, there are sharps and flats flying all over the place. But, I don't care.

Got a Distinction in my postgraduate subject for university, woo hoo.

Also as it has been unbearably hot recently 42/43c I have been enjoying salads and ham/chicken. I also got some sour dough rolls and used my air fryer to make some crispy sweet chilli chicken strips. I place them in lettuce, add mayo, some grated cheese and finely chopped capsicum and tomato. Then bundle the chicken strips up in the lettuce and put them in the sourdough bread. Boom. Pocket Burger.

It has been pretty good. I haven't been on this site for a while, but it's for very good reason. I've been actively pushing myself to be more "offline" in the world. I spent so much time on computers, playing video games and just being cooped up at home. Mostly because of my anxiety. I've been really pushing myself out of my shell and not let social anxiety ruin my life.

It's hard, but the only way I'm ever going to get anywhere in life is by pushing myself past boundaries and building my self confidence. Still yet to find a partner sadly, but I hope with time it'll happen for me.

It sucked. But on the bright side, I've just stuffed my face with Takeaway Pizza. Pizza always helps improve the mood.

My morning commute was on the xmass trolley.  Kinda helps going to work a bit.

I wrote the not-so-nice version last night, but this is the revised version.

Last night I was caught between a fight. I've gotten to the point where I'm on a higher tier than all the savages out here. I'm in my head 24/7, I'm past fighting. For the first time in my life, all my cards are right, everything that's happening to me is for the best, and I'm not risking it for nobody or no one. I don't f*ck with anybody or anyone, I stay neutral. But then you have people that like to talk about what you didn't do or should have done.

Most motherf*ckers run their mouth, but won't bust a goddamn grape.

I haven't been on here for a while (apart from a few days ago). I guess Christmas time brings us closer haha.

Anyway, I've recently accepted a new position as an Executive taking charge of Client Relations. I really loved working with the previous company, however, the development of the position along with a few added perks was too good to palm off this time.

Pretty much f***ing awful and I'm in a very depressed state and non-responsive to almost everything.  Been like this for a few months now.

Went to a house party all day and felt awkward, bored, homesick, and I developed a love hate relationship with the Oxford comma.

Who gives a f*ck about an Oxford comma?

Ok thanks.

I'm not sure I'm clear or more confused.

I had to look up Oxford comma after the initial post assuming it was some kind of mixed drink and I was met by this:

Ox·ford com·ma
noun
  1. a comma used after the penultimate item in a list of three or more items, before ‘and’ or ‘or’ (e.g. an Italian painter, sculptor, and architect ).

It's all about eliminating ambiguity in one's writing.  In short, those who refuse to use the Oxford Comma are f*cking morons or just plain lazy.  Maybe both?

Phewww.. OK so I'm pretty much on track then.

I'm an American kid with a 70's primary education.  We were taught that it was optional and to lean towards not using it.

My day sucked by the way.  One of those days where I have to hit the "hey, whatever happens... I'll be OK" moment.  That hasn't happened yet.

Today my boss assigned me with a couple of newbies to teach them some basic things. As a man in charge i wanted to flex, but random cold kicked in and i started to sneeze at the rate of machinegun and screwing up easiest tasks.
Couldn't even feel the shame, because i barely feel myself alive, i've slept 10 hours in total since Monday. Would try to flex again tbh.

Don't flex.  Be kind and lead by example.  Work hard as an example.  If you are confident in your instruction they will respect that as 'boss like'.

I'm a boss.  :)

This week was holiday party week at work.  I only went to 2(plus mine).  Today was my office's very private party.   We thought we might not have enough wine so we sent out the only person (devout Muslim) who doesn't drink to pick up more.  I gave him 40 bucks.  He came back with one $90 bottle.  It was delicious.

So, I got a year-end bonus at work.  This isn't atypical, but it's the first one that I've received since switching departments.

  • The Good: $5,000!
  • The Bad: The U.S. gubmint took 1/3 of it.
  • But Still: $3,200!

I'm hella gonna buy a new couch.
