Why are the DM and Race Timers (Play Time) wrong on Social Club wrong

Just wondering this, I always thought the times on the social club (meaning total time played for deathmatches and races) were wrong. I felt they said that you played less than you actually did timewise. Well my bud just got GTA V and we played 5 deathmatches together, 10 minutes a piece, and we had no kill limit so the clock would run till the end of the match. His social club account says he played the 5 deathmatches but that he has only played 14 minutes and 56 seconds of Deathmatches. It should actually say he played 50 minutes exactly, not 14 min 56s. Anyone else know why it says this. It's a not a big deal, but was curious since I like tracking stupid stuff like that. Thanks

 

(Just realized I typed "wrong" in the title twice, heh, guess that gets the point across that the social club is wrong, lol)
