Yeah the animations for carjacking are pretty weird. Entering cars is even weirder for me.

But the only thing that's bugging me about GTA V is the lack of variety in traffic....

Franklin one is definitely the weirdest, it's like he grabs the drivers out and then they scream(?!)

Wouldn't you scream if you were being dragged out of your car by an armed thug?

Not liking the carjacking animations at all in this game. Most of the time you don't even touch them at all. They just climb out of their own volition. This made sense back in GTA IV when you had a gun equipped and Niko always pointed it at their head and said this is a robbery get out. But now they just unequip their weapons most of the time and just say "GET OUT" and the person complies.

The other times they like magically shoulder hook them and just lift them out and drag them like they weigh nothing. It truly is bizarre.

Yeah definitely another one of those little things I miss from IV, because it frankly did it better than V.

I think the only person who does that is Michael. I know Trevor legit pulls them out

Michael's is the worst.... The only thing he does is take his thumb out and show the passenger out instead of TAKING THE f*ckING PERSON OUT. This can happen in other places where gang members drive cars too, like Grove Street. Seriously, a middle aged man car jacking a gang banger, and the gang banger actually goes out of the car.. Sounds stupid to me.

So basically like in every GTA.

I've guess people have run out of things to nitpick on in V, so now we're resorting to complaining about the car jack animations.

Well all 3 characters have different animations. Michael just points & yells for the driver to get out, Franklin pulls them out & Trevor smashes the driver's head on the wheel before pulling them out. Also, if you are holding a pistol or assault rifle, they will threaten the driver at gunpoint. I wouldn't find the animations weird, I don't really take notice anyway.

I actually like that. It shows that Michael has that much more "class" than other protagonists that he doesn't even have to use physical violence to carjack someone.

I have nothing against it, but it's alot faster and less "realistic" than GTA IV.

Lol Trevor's CarJacking animation is just so funny and at the same cruel :) then Franklin's CarJacking Animation is a Typical Grand Theft Auto Criminal.

@xXGstO395Xx

It depends on the way you look at it,I think it slower imo esp. with Franklin.

I think you need to hold RT after pressing Y or triangle to take the car at gunpoint.

It's funny though how the driver usually takes 2 steps and plants their face in the ground after getting out of the car.

Well I dont know whats weird about it, but each to their own.

Franklin tends to only drag the person out of the vehicle most of the time, Michael does this aswell and ocasionally pulls out the thumbs thing while Trevor is the whole opposite, no matter who it is he'll smash their head against the steering Wheel and pull them out.

With weapons:

- With a pistol the character will mostly aim at the driver and tell them to get out, sometimes Michael does this aiming with one hand.

- With an assault rifle it varies, sometimes if its a lower vehicle like the Serrano they will smash the window with the butt of the weapon stunning the driver then yelling him or her to get out.

Also to the whole unarmed thing Darkleader, all three characters are pretty strong so I dont see how it doesnt make sense for them to drag out somebody easily, I just carjacked a Mesa as Frank and driver pretty much resisted and the whole thing with Mike is when drivers are either weak or scared.

I just recently played to test it out and I dont remotely see why IV is better in this aspect, Niko pretty much drags them out by only one arm and they get out nothing more than that, nor why it is weird Carjacking is ment to be something fast.

tbh this thread is weird (no offense OP) infact the Realistic CarJacking (Hotwiring) is much effective and quicker in V than IV (even though it the first game to introduce that in the Genre).

Miles is the best, just 'Alright get out!'. Love that one.

All the best ones are when the character is armed though.

Michael will only politely ask the driver out when he's not Wanted. When he is, he will drag them out of the car.

Trevor tends to hit driver. Franklin has unique ability to steal some cars without breaking the glass.

I checked GTA Wiki, and that unique carjacking Franklin does is know as "Slim Jim".

Seems OK to me. In fact it seems better than GTA 4 carjack animation. And in GTA San Andreas there's hardily any car jack animation. the cars weren't even locked most of the time in the 3D universe and you dont even see your guy even start the car (all automatic). I like how they gave Franklin lock picking instead of breaking the window and if you focus on Franklin in the car as he hot wires he looks like he is using a vehicle repo tool to turn the ignition key hole. One of the disappointing things about GTA 5 carjacking is how Franklin only can lock pick cars and not SUVs and larger vehicles so he just smashes the windows on those larger vehicles and SUVs. I wish all characters knew how to pick car door locks like Franklin or at least had a tool like he uses. You would think professional thieves would know how to pick a lock on a car door. Also another funny thing I still laugh at sometimes is how a human in GTA 5 can just break a car window with only their elbow or fist. In reality you would probably break a bone before you break a car window or at least it would take more than one blow to the window to even crack it.

You complain saying animations are too simple? You want to die by an officer's handgun trying to hotwire a car the correct way? This sh*t is why the shotgun reloading animation only shows one shell being loaded..

Well, Franklin is a gangster, loves cars and was employed as a car repo guy. As a repo dude, he musn't damage cars so he uses lockpicks. Trevor and Michael don't repo cars, so they don't. Even if Michael is a professional robber, on most of his robberies, he uses a getaway driver. So he does not need to steal cars, and Trevor... well he hasn't got the time (and mind) to learn lockpicking, and he is pretty strong and agressive. So this is why Franklin lockpicks, while Michael and Trevor just break the windows and get in.

---

And why woudn't peds accelerate while they are being carjacked? That seems realistic, and that is what people would do. Not just leave when a middle aged man points a thumb. And most NPCs with super cars/muscle cars should do this...

GTA Chinatown Wars had that. Most annoying thing in that game, "Hey a nice car, maybe I can chase my target down in that." "Nnnnope."

If it was hard to carjack in a game called Grand Theft Auto, I don't even anymore.

Sometimes when you use Shotgun, M4 or AK47(maybye works with oter guns too) then character might aim at them and they come out
