gtamann123
I picked none of the final four. First time in like 4 years thats happened for me I don't see how you couldn't have picked Fla at least. Snoochie_Boochies
So anyone wanna throw some predictions out? Florida over Uconn Wisconsin over Kentucky Florida over Wisconsin for the title. I say Florida beats UConn 75-67 Kentucky beats Wisconsin 73-71 Kentucky beats Florida for the championship 70-66 UConn is a good team, but won't get past Florida Wisconsin has the ability to shoot, but Kentucky has the talent and the Defense to boot. I say this is the best game of the entire tournament, no matter who wins. Alot of people will say Kentucky can't beat Florida, and I say, you didn't watch the SEC championship. Only reason Kentucky lost that game was due to a last second error, I doubt that will happen if they play again. Unless UK doesn't play to their fullest, then Florida will run away with it Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/683603-unofficial-ncaa-basketball-thread/page/2/#findComment-1065112239 Share on other sites
Rashon.
Was pretty pissed that Wichita State didn't make it that far this year (and yes, that was my bandwagon team of the year) but I guess it's a bit more rewarding that Kentucky is in the Final Four as a result. Don't know how the the HELL they were an 8 seed. Anywho, I've been a UConn fan all my life but I've got Florida over them but that's gonna be an epic game. I've been very impressed with UConn though. They had to beat 3 conference champions and a regular season champion to get to the Final Four and none of those teams were slouches. Impressive year for Kevin Ollie and the crew. Go Huskies! I've also got Kentucky over Wisconsin. Kentucky basically beat two #1 caliber seeds by the eye test in my estimation (Wichita State and Louisville) to get there. Wisconsin's not being talked about very much but I still think Kentucky's now mature. Edited April 5, 2014 by Rashon. Snoochie_Boochies
I missed how UK won. Last I saw it was tied with like 8 seconds left Aron Harrison hit a 3 with like 5 or 6 seconds left, Wisconsin's Jackson went up for a 2 point jumper but it bounced off the rim, buzzer sounds, ballgame. gtamann123 1 Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/683603-unofficial-ncaa-basketball-thread/page/2/#findComment-1065125833 Share on other sites

Snoochie_Boochies
So its all over tonight. Who you guys got? I'm going to have to go with UK As much as I feel like Kentucky wants and deserves this win more, I just don't see them pulling it off. Randle isn't his best tonight, neither is Alex Poythress, and UConn's Shabazz Napier is playing like a globetrotter lately. Realistically, i'm gonna say Uconn, even though I don't think they deserve it Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/683603-unofficial-ncaa-basketball-thread/page/2/#findComment-1065137801 Share on other sites

El Dildo
The UConn ladies just won the tourney.. talk about dominance. That's four perfect seasons in the past 12 years. that's not really "dominance." that's just the fact that women's athletics have a much lower level of even competition than men's. most women's teams are crap so it's easy for the few powerhouse schools to maintain supremacy. it's just built in to the system. there's no real parity in women's collegiate athletics. gtamann123 1 Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/683603-unofficial-ncaa-basketball-thread/page/2/#findComment-1065147620 Share on other sites

Realistically, i'm gonna say Uconn, even though I don't think they deserve it Because they play hard? Either way, they won. Because Kentucky had the better storyline, and arguably wanted and needed the victory more to justify their unbelievable run. I don't mean to take away anything from UConn, yes, napier and boatwright play hard, but to me, Kentucky had more right to earn that victory, but they just didn't show up to play that game, they played slopplily, didn't take advantage of opportunities, and besides the two afromentioned players, UConn sucked in that game. Had they played like that against UF, they would have been blown out by 20 They had a great first 15 minutes, but after that, it was like they were saying "please, take this lead away from us" and even then Kentucky wouldn't capitalize. The UConn ladies just won the tourney.. talk about dominance. They basically get any recruit they pursue, so that helps, too. gtamann123 1 Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/683603-unofficial-ncaa-basketball-thread/page/2/#findComment-1065151594 Share on other sites
Sir Michael
Jabari Parker just declared himself for the NBA Draft. gtamann123
Uhh a one and done is a freshman who plays one year in college and then goes to the NBA. Maybe you are thinking of Bust? It's better to stay in college and pick up the fundamentals and pacing there instead of gambling in the NBA. There have been numerous three/four-year athletes that turned into superstars in the NBA: Michael Jordan, Clyde Drexler, Scottie Pippen, Hakeem Olajuwon, David Robinson, Patrick Ewing, Tim Duncan, Shaq... I'll post more modern examples when I do more research. Like Derrick Rose, KG, Lebron, Kobe etc. I think that the phenom freshman get dollar signs in their eyes after their first year and want to get to the NBA as soon as possible. But I agree that having 4 years of college under your belt will maker you are more solid and all around player the Association. But with that said i think they should start allowing players straight out of high school again but the NCAA would throw a fit. But with that said i think they should start allowing players straight out of high school again but the NCAA would throw a fit. I think the easiest way to solve the one and done situation is for the NBA to make the D-league more appealing to high school superstars by raising wages and other benefits. Of course the main attraction of going to the NBA after a year of college of after high school is the money, but what about giving the player the option to start in the D-league, earn a decent income and after a couple years perhaps have the chance to get the big NBA bucks after being greenlit by scouts. Of course one could say that college basketball will lose out on the star talent, but the way to contrast this is to have the age limit for both the NBA draft and the D-league increased to 20, so that the player must choose to either wait or develop in college, which they may not like but will benefit both them and moreso benefit the NCAA and the NBA: NCAA gets the star players, NBA gets both a free farm system from the NCAA and its own expanded farm system with the Dleague to catch as many high talent players as possible, and the players get the benefit of being able to develop and mature in college, which would be better for them in the long run. not a perfect plan, but it would work Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/683603-unofficial-ncaa-basketball-thread/page/2/#findComment-1065368293 Share on other sites
