Ok, so I decide at long last it's time to part ways with my Sentinel XS. I need to make room in my garage for the Roosevelt, and it's the car I've chosen to replace. I've pour TONS of cash into this car, it's fully upgraded. When last I checked it's resale value, it was $104,280. Not half bad for a coupe. I drive it into LSC and today it resales for...$10,000. What the f*ck? How the hell is that even possible? OH WAIT!!! It's R* putting the screws to everyone who might think of selling cars upgraded with modded money to get the Roosevelt. Accept my Sentinel was fully tuned LONG before DNS hacking was even in the picture.

 

So I decided to do some investigating. I go back to my Condo and get my Schafter, again...a car I fully modded before the modded money epidemic. Drive it back to LSC, $10,000 on the resale. I go back home and get my Coquette, which I did tune with modded money, and it's reselling for $233,590. So I'm left scratching my head now. Cars I modded with legit money are reselling for peanuts, whereas one of the only 2 cars I tuned with modded cash is reselling at the normal rate. Seriously, R*?

Made the post to inform anyone else who may plan to sell off some "regular" cars to get the Roosevelt to save them some grief. No need to be an asshole. Wait, that's all you know how to be, right? f*ck you, piss-ant.

Do we know what the true clarification is on what sells and what doesnt and why? I am sure where you got the money to mod it isnt the basis. I will check all my stuff tonight and see whats up...( I am glad I sold the car I was going to replace last night.

In the future if you want to warn people about a issue then use a proper title indicating what you want to say. Rather than 'What the actual f*ck' as I thought this would just be a thread about someone moaning again because they cant buy a red tie.

No it's not to rocket science, but some warning would've been nice, don't you think? Last night, the cars would've sold for over $100k a pop. Today, $20k. Yes, I know the patch notes haven't been released, but at the same time...notice how nothing was mentioned about this lil' change when they announced the release of the DLC? OF COURSE they wouldn't. That would've caused an uprising. So by R*'s logic, a car you swipe off the street and pour tons of money to isn't worth the metal it's made with, but cars bought from the net are ok? Sorry, there's somethin' wrong with that in my book.

 

The name of the game is GRAND THEFT AUTO. Not Online Auto Purchase.

While I don't like it, it does make a little sense as a method of stopping people from sharing money by modding a ride off the street and passing it to a freind to sell.

I do not think it should apply to player owned vehicles though...that does not seem right at all. Spent more than that just on the tires.

Had the same issue with the Sentinel XS too. i hope that my Adder "stocks" are still worth what they were

loosk like cars from legendarymotorsports will resell at the same prices while the others now will only give you 10k at max

I've got the same problem. Needed money, so wanted to sell my fully modded Schwarzer, which I know for a fact sells for about 120k.
Nope, got offered 10k.
Tried to sell my Buffalo II and Tailgater with the same result..
