Merryweather Airstrike -.-

I just thought using an airstrike on enemies would be funny, called merryweather and threw the airstrike in the middle of The Lost.

 

I ran away 100 metres, heard the first rocket. Guess who was hit...

Yep. It's a piece of sh*t. Happened to me a couple times too. You throw it as far as you can, and it kills you. This feature is a failure. They should lower the price of it because it is just terrible.

I just use merc instead, I would see this dot fly across the map thinking it failed, but then 15 minutes poof your target has been eliminated o.O

Throwing the flare from your vehicle works better, you can throw it further and get away quicker.

Wow, I thought you had to be on foot because one of my early tests with it. I should have tried again. I might start using it as a drive by if it works, but it's still too expensive. Could be worth it though if you have the cash to spare.

I agree... if anything, instead of a flare thrown, it should be accomplished the same it is when in marine force recon, by "lazing" the target area! This can be done at safe distance and with extreme accuracy! Only thing it requires, is a clean line of sight!

weird, i use the airstrike all the time and it doesnt hit me when i ran a distance, another bug proudly brought to you by R* or C* as some would have it, wonder if they will ever fix this crap and if ill ever see a damn crate drop in my lifetime...

It's because the strike is a strafe run, so sometimes you get caught in the path.

Seriously, the only time I've ahd it work was once by throwing it in a doorway under a buiilding where about three people were sniping on the roof from.. took two out and the other fell off... result!

 

or one time, someone was round the corner of a wall.. I fired the airstrike - flare being hidden by the wall, then ran like hell.. they got took out as soon as they turned the corner..

 

Other than that it's Doktor_Gott has taken the excessive military hardware way out....

It's pretty useless. It's fun to look at...hell it's very fun to use...but $12 k for entertainment after we were robbed of our modded money is too much for me!

I've read on here people using it against snipers. If someone's sniping on top of a tall building (Maze Bank Tower, for example), just drop the flare at the side of the building and scarper. Someone on here said it had been successful, but I've also heard that sometimes people lie on the internet so I'm not sure.

WelL I can vouch for its effectiveness for that if done right... like I say 2/3 killed, 1/3 falling off the building...

I only use airstrike when someone is on a rooftop that I can't reach that fast.

always works for me and get the job done, other then that its useless.

Does anyone one know how big a space the strike itself covers, and how to throw it in regards to which direction the strike will come from or is it completely random?
