The Chicago typewriter thread has me wondering. Some people seem to think that all the content on vday will be free and accessible to any level. It actually doesn't say that, the more I read the newswire post the more it reads like its free to download but is 'accessible' through the in game websites or ammunation. Sounds like our characters will have to pay and might be level restrictions on the gun?

 

TLDR: The beach bum pack had free free free all over it this one doesn't seem to be.

 

Thoughts?

The reality of the DLC is plain and simple. If free, the thompson nor the roosevelt will be good weapons/vehicles.

 

As much as many will like it to be free, if you are an enthusiast of either of these, hope it is not free.

 

I also hope there are level requirements.

 

Free = Crap.

 

It all boils down to $$$ for Rockstar.

You cynical bastard lol, Rockstar keeps releasing these free DLC's to keep the interest in GTA:O fresh until the actual meat comes in.

Roosevelt, level requirements? All cars have level-locked mods anyway. Even Frank's Buffalo has levelled mods, and that car has to be modded in.

I think the upcoming business pack will be the best of the free stuff. Anything after that will probably be paid for DLC.

I think everything will be available to all levels. The vehicle will most likely be free. The Sweeper will probably be free but extra ammo for it will be at a cost, of course. It wouldn't make sense for the Sweeper to be level restricted. Performance/visual modifications for the Roosevelt might probably be locked unless the player has completed the necessary things to have them unlocked. Beyond that, I think everything will be like the Beach Bum DLC.

I meant level requirement for the gun only.

 

Fully automatic tommy gun for level 1's. Hmmm doesn't sound quite right. At that point they couldn't really afford ammo so I guess it's ok.

OP there are level 15s and 20s that own Buzzards and Tanks, and don't own an Assault Shotgun or Carbine. I think a level 1 with a Tommy gun will at least give him a fighting chance in the mass chaos.

I would like level 120 to unlock the ability to run around naked. Or at least in just underwear.

There are clothes that aren't based on rank? Huh.

 

EDIT: I'd prefer making it redonk expensive instead. It's a suit, not a Gap Clearance shirt.

They're only going to be available for a limited time, so it stands to reason there will be no upfront cost for vday items just like beach bum pack (even though that wasn't limited time only).

 

Can you imagine the whining if people got the pack, went to legendary motorsport and saw that the Albany Roosevelt had a hefty price tag on it?

I hope everything in the update costs money. give the Roosevelt a 400k price tag, the suits comparable suit prices and a level requirement (nothing huge, maybe 30 or 40) and the gun unlocked at mg level. I'm tired of not having anything to spend my money on and will guarantee these items be actually useful.

Thing is...money's not really a problem in this game. (In-game, i mean...because god knows how many people bitch about it elsewhere).

 

If it was locked the way the skull tee/R* creator tee or other clothing items, then it gives it an essence of distinction, just like real life classy suits do.

I'd say 1k or 1.5k. Tie is such a small piece of clothing, like shoes or a hat.

Bully! Bully for you! We shall see what happens. A level requirement for the Thompson machine gun could be size of clip. 30 round stick was the normal issue then the Gov 100 round drum.

It's not really critic or confusing, It is a free DLC. Some items are free in SP and you have to buy them in MP at ammunation or Ledgendary Motorsports. R* says it right the in there newswire blurb. Unless English is your second language this should be pretty straight forward. Nothing to read between the lines here and unless people are just trolling how could it be confusing?

The total amount spent for a three-piece suit better not go below 50k though. If you aren't spending more than 3 Bati 801s for a suit, you're a cheap dude.

How do you know they'll be crappy?

 

You don't because you've never used either one of them, I'll never understand why people like this say crap like this before they even see or use the guns and cars they are deeming as crap before ever seeing or using them.

 

Just because the last DLC with the Snub Nose Pistol & Broken Bottle & Paradise Van sucked doesn't mean this one will.

 

The Dune Buggy wasn't a bad car with the last DLC that was released so you never know, Don't judge a book by it's cover

I could care less if I have to pay for it or not cause I'm still a multi millionaire but I hope it's free just to see it upset people.
