Is there any website we can check to see if the game servers are back up?

The servers aren't down for me. I'm playing right now. I do keep getting disconnected from PSN though.

 

I think in this day and age, a server status webpage for online games should be a ubiquitous feature. It's ridiculous how many online games don't have any real way of checking whether-or-not the servers are functioning. It's not like it's hard: two lines of PHP and two more of HTML would be all it takes to provide a visual representation of the server(s) status. If someone could tell me the IP addresses of the GTA Online servers and the relevant port numbers I'd happily do it right now.

Only thing i've had trouble with is starting missions. It just sits at loading in the lobby forever when the mission starts.

I gave up. Was getting randomly named missions from Lester but they weren't starting. Also snapmatic was down

Yep. I don't know when accountability flew out the window for game developers, but I'm having a hard time remembering the last company that even appeared to care about its customers. There are only a dozen major social media outlets to let people know. There just seems to be a general disconnect between game developers and players any more.

Sad but true. When the devs actually relay info about things that are happening, I usually find it to be a good sign towards the community. Even if it's not something most people don't wish to hear. Some communication is better than no communication.

The server status is up-to-date (it says so in tiny little writing right underneath each green "UP"), it's just the message from Rockstar beneath those that was only updated last month.

Alternatively, if you don't want to mess around with BBcode you can just highlight the words you want to serve as a link and the click the "insert link" button in the editor, then paste the URL you want the highlighted text to link to. In other words, insert a link like you usually do but have some text already highlighted in the editor before you do it.
