MiniMap getting obscured

You might have already noticed but with every new piece of R* Verified content the map gets more and more cluttered. Zoom fully out and have a look how many streets are obscured because of overlapping markers. Saw a death match yesterday titled "The pad of death" Congratulations on getting your work noticed but at the same time careless placement of the job trigger. It's in a high traffic area in the center of the drive to get to the helipads next to the docks meaning you will always need to avoid running into that area and it will always be there... A great big dirty blue circle in the middle of the road that looks absolutely terrible, particularly for anybody who records game play.

 

My first time playing online, I saw the blue "mission" circles and thought two things. 1 that looks no good how do I turn it off, 2 I will never have a need to use one of them ever. Wouldn't you know it nearly 6 months later and still no need for them but north keeps getting harder to find.

 

Wanted to know if this is annoying for anyone else and make sure I haven't missed an option to turn them off, cant turn off npc phone calls so this would surprise me.

 

TLDR? Go back to school.

Yea i wish you could turn all that crap off for the mini map, it gets very annoying even tho I know where everything is, other players get lost in the mess

i think you can remove them from your game from socialclub, look them up and add to game, then just remove it from that

He's talking about verified jobs not the ones you add yourself the verified jobs are automatically added to the map.

 

Yeah i wish we could remove things too, Weren't we able to do that in other games?

i know i try to join prison thugs and its sitting ontop of the penitentary LTS i cant count how many times i joined the wrong job. i know ill catch slack for playing prison thugs but i like the melee combat lol

Does anyone actually use these anyway?

 

All the missions on the map are accessible via the pause menu, which makes them useless.

They should be disabled when you select high/low detail on the map.

I dont know why they need to be so big. Why cant they be like the garage or apartment ones. Nice and small but still clearly visible. I have never activated a job by one of those circles either. Well not on purpose. I also agree they need to remove the clutter on the mini map. Have it as only bookmarked jobs or selectable on/off.

It gets 10 times worse if you bookmark custom jobs. Then you get blue and yellow blotting out everything.

 

The only thing that should appear on the ground are actual missions like coveted and crystal clear out. Everything else should just be in the pause menu. Which it is. So the blue crap is redundant.

Stupid postage-stamp-sized map on a 47" TV is pitiful.

Yeah the blips were also not my favorite, much preferred the old color system.

Players making their own stuff place the trigger markers. Same as some of those horribly aligned jumps just a lack of time and thought.

Thinking of putting in a ticket to R* about it, never done one before but im expecting to be ignored by others experiences.

You may prefer setting the map to the larger view if you didn't know about it already. Located in settings.

I agree with you OP. I can't tell you how many times I've accidentally ran into one of those circles trying do something else. That's why I always try making my starting markers off the side of the road and not in a "traffic area".

If you go into the blue marker you have the option to join that job hosted by someone else. Unlike the pause menu where you can only host that particular job. I agree they should be smaller and we should have an option to turn them off in the pause menu but they are useful to some.

I really feel like they need a confirmation button when you walk into one of these little illuminated cylinders.

 

 

Just something similar to maybe Fable 2 (or maybe it was 3) where to perform an action they had you hold down the A button which would cause a circular icon to pop up and would have to hold the button down for a split second until the circle around the icon was fully lit up.

 

Maybe just a little prompt where you have to push X + B at the same time to activate the job. The mission/job markers themselves don't really bother me all that much, it's moreso just when I accidentally walk into one while running around and trigger a job and have to wait for the camera to zoom out then zoom back in while loading a job I didn't intend to launch just so I can push B to back out so I can get back to what I was doing in the first before abruptly being disrupted.

Or like some racing games where you drive to race points but have to burnout to activate them

Yeah, it annoys me so much! I know you can make the stores dissapear from your map by simply pressing on the RIGHT analog stick, so I can't see why they didn't make it that when you press the LEFT analog stick, the jobs would dissapear.

At the very least, the job trigger on the ramp to the helipad needs to be (re)moved. It's a high-traffic, high-violence area and automatically triggering the deathmatch in the middle of some hectic PvP action is a total pain in the ass.
