Here's a new feature R* should install in its next patch "no friendly fire between active crew members".

 

I have just started my 4th active crew, having gone to Kingpin on the previous 2. Every multiplayer match i go to I try to get ones within my active crew, only to find them shooting and killing each other. If there were no friendly fire between active crew members it would force them to work together as a TEAM regardless of if they know each other. Just like in team deathmatch, the more crew members in the free roam session the more they can dominate the game. Also pick your role within the free roam, if u have a tank or a Buzzard you could put them to good use protecting other crew members, start imaginary missions, like a joint effort to capture Ft. Zancudo and keep other crews out.

 

Now its just un loyal chaos and is pointless to even have crews if they can kill each other.

I totally agree with you. Crews are pointless if it's a free for on everybody in your crew. For that reason I quit my crew and am now just solo. Good luck on finding a decent crew.

i have been saying this for a while now. me and my crew mates try to work together and sometimes auto aim f*cks us and we end up killing each other

Agreed. Can't count the number of times I've tried to shoot someone and because my crew member is next to me it aims at them and kills them.

 

IB someone says that's why you should do free aim

i would agree with the first point. if someone is yuor Crew member and or your friend it should only be possiblew to shoot them if yuo free aim them, so at least its deliberate and not auto lock on. however it should not be a problem having crew mates killing each other on purpose.. its a sign of a massive crew with no identity.

 

side note, when working with crew members in fire fights its best to lock on then pause for half a second before firing to make sure you have not locked onto them. a hassle.. yes it is.

I don't have this problem because I play free-aim.

 

BUT I do rarely kill friends while robbing stores/standing in the same cover because of the auto melee that somehow exists in a free aim lobby...

Well I guess I must have found one of the best crews out there. Very organized respectful, active, helpful and if anyone kills a crew member on purpose more then 3 times unless were playing around in a private lobby then they are kicked out. If anyone is interested in an organized no bullsh*t kind of crew like this give me a shout for more details ps3 btw

Maybe if ur in ign or mp3. Any of the 5 crews I roll with are awesome QOTD, and SHDW are my mains and they're phenomenal.

 

If it's a crew of jerkoffs I really wouldn't be inclined to rank up with them.

Your problem is public crews, loyalty doesn't even mean anything to people who represent those crews lol.

Yeah I really was let down by the whole "crew" aspect of GTA online very early on, and it's still the same. My hope was to be in one and just be a team, a constant truce among other crew members, taking another crew down, etc. But no, any large crew joined was the same idiots just shooitng eachother, lame. Now i'm in some lame one I made that only two other people im friends with are in. I hoped it would be more massive, and more co-op oriented, but it's just a failure if you ask me.

You roll with randoms. What do you expect? This isn't a problem with my crew because we are friends and family in real life. Maybe stick to a single crew, and recruit the people you actually play with a lot and you won't see this problem.

I roll with an amazing crew, always setting up events and random free roam cruises. The other day one of our guys got killed by two randoms so the 7 of us in the session hunted them down. I don't believe the crew feature has failed in the slightest, its made GTAO a hell of a lot more playable.

this is what happens when your part of a good crew..

 

OP seems to inidicate that he started the crews in question (jsut started my 4th crew)... makes me think he needs to make a decent connection with people in his crew and get people to work together etc..

 

after all if your crew leader its your responsibility to look after your crew...

 

had many occasions ive dropped into a FR session and seen a crew members name in the XXX killed by XXX window... so ive hauled ass over there and either provided them with some back up, or a quick getaway, crew members should always look out for each other and if they dont, its time to find a new crew

That is not Rockstar's fault. You have two options.

 

1 - You obviously don't know how to recruit reliable members. You don't simply add anyone, or without testing them a little bit. You need to look for the most dedicated, respectful and mature people to join.

 

2 - You should use the passive mode. That's what it was designed for. If you feared people are going to kill you, then switch it on.

No need to force them. Crews who communicate better deserve to do better. Let the unguided f*cks kill one another and find a better crew.

And when does the crew ranking end? Im at 155 with IGN, i must admit i got way more job invite with a 200 member crew, than with IGN's 500,000+ crew.

If you dont want to target your fellow crew members, hold select, and scroll down and change your friend attack priority to "low". You will not be able to target your fellow crew members or friends unless they step into your line of fire. I am on PS3 so I am not sure what the procedure is for the XBOX.

Actually, the function that I want, is to be able to designate certain players in the session to be "friendly" so that auto aim does not even lock on them, and I can't fire and kill them. Furthermore, those selected players should show up as a different colored dot on the minimap. I. e., these would be "temporary friends" with "friendly fire" prevention.

 

The reason this is needed, is that, when I feel like wading into Los Santos with randoms, I soon tend to align with a few nice players who don't kill me on sight, and we strike a quick bond, as an informal little team. This is really nice. :^:

 

Then, when our little team gets into a running firefight with the other assholes in the session, my problem (and the other people's problem) is as we respawn, we cant tell where our new recent friends are, compared to the locations of the assholes. All the white dots look the same. I always hesitate to shoot until I get a positive ID, and by that time, one of the assholes have already sniped me out or shot me with a MG from a block away. :angry:

 

This is an important problem to be solved. It's not practical to friend people in each session that you see only for one night. I've already got stalkers from doing that. :p
