Racecarlock
And frankly, it's just something I can't avoid anymore? Do you remember pressing issues in vice city along with the commercials? Well, whenever I listen to or remember pressing issues, it always seemed like it was having a good time. Whether you had a nudist, a soccer mom, and a pastor discuss morality or a depressed man, a drugged chick, and a man trying to sell motivational tapes discuss positive thinking, it was always fun and crazy and exaggerated. There is not much exaggeration in GTA V's humor. It's gone from "Oh my god that guy sh*t his pants and that's hilarious" to "Oh my god that guy sh*t his pants and he's shamed his family forever, his dog has committed suicide, and he's contributing to the downfall of society.". How is lazlow having a shame induced mental breakdown in any way funny? How is people literally taking the issues of the day and discussing them in the exact same way as we do in real life funny? Oh, you changed "Medical Marijuana" to "Medical Cocaine". Have a round of applause. Oh look, you quoted mitt romney's "What's good for the goose" quote, have another round. Oh look, rednecks have terrible diets. Look at you and your big time comedy antics. Also, I GET IT! Los Angeles is full of washed up movie stars and entitled executives! I GET IT! It's funny because... actually why is that funny? You're just pointing out problems. How is that funny? At least with lewis black you'd get a rant wherein he says his phone has gained sentience and he's going to name it and raise it as one of his own. Oh and look, fernando is talking about the debt ceiling and apparently liberals are too sensitive about sexism. I'm still not seeing the funny. It seems like GTA V just wants to point out how everyone sucks without having the balls to take it to an insane degree. I mean, jock cranley might have been funny had arnold schwarzenegger not already have been governor of california for years. Sue Murray might have been funny if she wasn't the typical "Oh look they talk down to people and are usually teachers and want to tax the rich" stereotype. "But los angeles is full of starlets and-" YES I GET IT GTA V, SHUT UP! It really does make up most of the social commentary in this game. No, I will not call it humor. Because I didn't laugh. The humor just seems so mean spirited now. At everyone. I mean, it was before, but at least back in the vice city days it seemed like the people who wrote it were having fun. As opposed to today, where everyone just seems to want to point out how everyone else just sucks. Sad, really. People probably put a lot of work into this. Impotent rage and republican space rangers and kung fu rainbow lazer force were kind of funny, if only because they were at least willing to exaggerate more than the radio was. Although, once again impotent rage just drags out the rich hypocrite stereotype again and beats whatever blood was left in the dead horse out of it. I don't know, man. It's just not as good as it once was. sqre, jeanrjm, Cutter De Blanc and 17 others
Zancudo
I agree. I didn't laugh even once while playing this game. I think it tried too hard to critize the L.A. culture, but it totally missed in terms of actually being hilarious. sqre and jeanrjm
~Tiger~
I also agree. It's like R* are trying to be 'all grown up', perhaps following the criticism of the smutty humour of GTA SA (which was full of, what the British call "nob-gags", first grade poo jokes and innuendo). Ok so too much childish humour is just silly but no humour at all? And where are the hilarious spoof radio adverts? The funny radio taglines? (If the cops can't catch you, you must be on the dust!) It is a shame. sqre

Ash_735
I seriously swear some of you haven't listened to The Fernando Show all the way through, the way he starts out all reformed, anti-sexist, and slowly but surely keeps slipping back into his old style is great, especially during the Sue Murray interview. The Lonesome Drifter
Pressing issues was a masterpiece of a talk show, now it's just lazlow getting harrased by internet pervs 24hours a day. Been that way since GTA IV

TJGM
"Make me run and I'll get all sweaty" - VC Cops Quotes like that is what GTA needs, while this games humor isn't as dull as IV's was, it still was pretty bad. Everything in this game is so serious (stop thinking of the Joker fatty), and its sad because the story isn't that serious especially with characters like Trevor but everything outside the story is just bleh. Nobody says anything funny outside of missions, peds are serious, cops are serious, ads are serious, etc.. I mean, we need more "I smoke weed because it gives me knowledge" type lines from NPC's, because they were the sh*t. TheTechPoTaToCHIP
In terms of radio humor, yeah. I kinda agree. Usually i only listen to the talk radio stations but the talk radio stations in V are just boring. I guess the blaine county one is kinda funny. Not ROFL worthy but it makes me chuckle sometimes. But with WCTR. I dont want to sound sexist but their (Lazlow and Fernanto) female sidekicks kinda make them boring because they Fernando's sidekick stops him from being sexist and flirty. And thats like the only reason i find him funny. And with Lazlow. His partner just takes over the show, not letting Lazlow be funny. Just getting him to break down on how he is a washed out celebrity. It isn't funny, its just sad. I guess that its Rockstar's way of saying that just for the sake of being politically correct that it censores everything thats true or funny. And as for chacra attack, l dont really like all that new age sh*t, so not only do i find that show unfunny but i dont even understand half the things they are talking about. Sue was just too much of a stereotype. Even fernando slipping didn't make it funnier, because sue murray is a humor vortex that absorbs all humor and spits "liberal stereotype" right back out. fac316

SUPAH JD
I don't know, I laughed. I have a cynical sense of humor though. Think all of you might have taken it a bit too seriously, imo. Impotent Rage was probably the funniest thing on it though, because for whatever reason when I saw the "ANGRY LIBERAL INSIDE" cell, with him spazzing out and crying, I started to burst into nonstop laughter. I can see how some jokes got old, but the sh*t between Franklin and Lamar got me too. That golden conversation between Micheal and Trevor about how Trevor is a hipster. That mission when you run in on the member from Love Fist when playing as Trevor. There's some golden moments in the game. blowtorchrepair and PeriodZeroHero

Jimbatron
I didn't think all the radio ads were as funny as in IV, but I though some of the characters quips were wittier. A couple of my favourites: Michael: "I hear Stockholm syndrome is very nice this time of year" Trevor: "It's like pornography, or the perfect turd. I can't quite imagine it, but I'll know it when I see it!"
DaRkL3AD3R
Not nearly as funny as past GTAs that's for sure. A lot of it did feel forced, especially the TV shows. Those have really slipped.
