FranklinDeRoosevelt
I'd love that to happen, and it makes sense, but at this point it's unlikely because we never had a reference point or clue by Rockstar. But both games are set in locations inspired from real life places, except it's designed differently and named differently. At least there is a similarity there. BLOOD
What if its apart of the same universe, just different times? hmm that a good question, but then the GTA games will have had many references or mentions to RDR instead it either Manhunt's Carcer City which have been mentioned numbers of times even in V or other places like Bullworth etc...although GTAO had a JM Skin and there is a book writing by JM in Franklin's House, but Red Dead (RDR) is not in the GTA Universe like many people have said, but Manhunt and Bully are part of GTA Universe. evd
but on the other hand, Nico was raised during the Yugoslavic War, which obviously took place in >real< world. Perhaps difference between GTA and the real world, based on the city names are only cosmetic now. Who would imagine in 1997 which way GTA series will go? Undead Nightmare isn't canon, but the Sasquatch hunter in there looks just like the hunter in the Strangers and Freaks mission "The Last One". And the guy in GTA V says "I will make my grandfather proud". So maybe they are related.
M210F
I'd like something which focuses more on the native American/Manifest Destiny concept. A long and relatively narrow map going east to west, sort of like the Oregon trail- with California and a gold-mining town in the west, then the rockies (with snow and pine trees), then the midwest, then a big city in the east. A protagonist who is half native american (a la Connor of AC3, but with better acting and less whininess) could be interested- maybe as a bounty hunter who scalps native americans between hunting down criminals? Red Dead predates AC with two years (2004-2006) so it could do that without fans/critics calling it a rip-off,plus Red Dead is more Grounded in Realism unlike AC. BUT THE BENZ
@ OP Dude I absolutely hear ya. RDR is an extra-ordinary game and it totally should, might I say NEEDS to be continued. Though I think a sequel should indeed move further into the 20th century. R* could totally pay homage to the movie LAST MAN STANDING. Seen that one? It's a remake of Fistful of Dollars. It's set in 1931, they have cars and automatic guns, it would be a step up and give R* much more opportunities to work with in terms of gameplay. Imagine Max Payne 3 gunplay, movement and combat (without the shootdodge I guess, unfortunately, whatever) in a mexico/desert/"wild"(more developed) west scenery. Plot: A man gets in the middle of thing as he arrives/gets stuck in a small town that is reigned by two crime families. one gang dealing booze and another trading guns. a gang war is about to emerge as the man pushes his luck when he tries to play both sides. It would be so awesome to see the Red Dead franchise continue and move into the future. The theme of revenge and payback certainly doesn't get old and people at R* know how to tell a story. DO WANT another Red Dead title!
chatD4VIS-360
I'd be down for no radar. Instead require maps and leave as little of a HUD as possible. Only be able to see maps when paused and possibly make stars a way of navigating the world.
Zancudo
Oh, I agree - every self-respected modern game should try for as minimalistic HUD as it's possible. It really improves on the immersion. Although, I've tried playing Red Dead Redemption without HUD, and it was basically not playable - had to check out the map every 5 seconds to know where the hell I am. Perhaps a small, transparent compass The Elder Scrolls-style would make the job.

I played RDR such an unhealthy amount that I got to the point where I could roughly tell where I was at almost any time. I still had to check the map at times, but it's certainly fun if you're just freeroaming. But a minimap (or at least Elder Scrolls type compass) is practically necessary if you're planning on finding your way to a mission, in almost every game. BuyMeTheMoon
I played RDR such an unhealthy amount that I got to the point where I could roughly tell where I was at almost any time. Been there! The whole game experience in RDR is so good, but if you switch of the mini map it's even better, much more realistic. I made myself a rule that I wasn't allowed to check the map. It was fun to be "lost" in the RDR world, and finally find the way I like the idea of a Elder Scrolls inspired compass for a future RDR game though.. That could make it a bit more challenging than a mini map Edited April 9, 2014 by BuyMeTheMoon

I'd like to see the next Red Dead involve a full blooded (you choose your Native American nation/tribe a each having it's own advantages/disadvantages). F the white man. Fight the inevitable. Resist manifestation of pale faces.
