They took a company ending risk making GTAV, if it flopped, there would be no more Rockstar. So as for profits and wanting to make more money, I see no issues. As for cash reserves, how much will GTA6 cost to make? $300 million? $400 million?

How much have they had in loans to pay for GTAv production costs?

 

As anyone in business knows, a good business will have cash reserves when investing in new products/R&D.

 

How much have the flops cost Rockstar? Yea they make a lot of good games but what about the not so good games? They costs for that comes from somewhere.

 

Yup. That's why a lot of companies go under. Poor risk assessment and poor asset management. I'm glad they made a ton so that they invest even more into the next GTA game. Anyone remember Midway Games? They invested a huge ton of capital into a heavily modified version of the Unreal engine. Unfortunately every game they made with it flopped(Stranglehold anyone?) and they had no reserves to cover the losses. A good example of poor risk assessment and poor asset management. Now they are long gone. I'd say Take2 knows what they are doing, all things considered. A good company is looking years into the future and making sure they have risks covered.

They made a billion in like the first week. That's bs. If they can't handle the uptick in players they should be firing their accountant. With that kind of money they made there shouldn't be any issues.

 

This all day. No excuse for them launching online using trial servers after having made billions from selling the game. Not sure who is worse about investing the least in servers, Rockstar or EA.

 

They are both 100x better than Blizzard. Blizzard is #1 for making the most money and cheaping out on servers. EA isn't even that bad in this regard, then again I see it more from the PC side of things where we can have our own overpriced servers.
