I usually just go the other way. If he follows me after a couple of turns, I get out and defend myself.

1) I can only assume that because the player has not seen me and let rip from his car, that he isn't a threat - C
2) I have wasted enough time on killing my mechanic, if the door hits his arse on the way out, bonus - B
3) If the tank doesn't attack, I have no interest, I have my own tank so can go on my own adventures, and if he isn't aggressive... live n let live - C
