Chat is disabled...why am I still hearing children?

For the sake of preventing migraines, by default, I have my chat setting set to either no-one when playing with strangers or crew and friends when playing with well...do the math. Yet the voices of other players are still blaring through my speakers and I have zero context for understanding why.

 

& before there's any smart comments, yes I made sure to check if any crew members or friends were in the session and there were none.

I've heard that this happens sometimes. The chat glitches or something, causing you to hear other people, even though you have the right chat settings.

 

My advice is to mute the players through the pause menu. (You can easily see which players are having sound blazing through their microphones.

 

If this happens all the time for you I'm not sure. This only happens sometimes for me.

 

One thing I hear alot is a crying baby or something. Who would leave the mic on while playing, when there is a child crying in the background? And they don't even say anything...

If you are in a mission / job or even a lobby awaiting launch everyone can hear everyone else and all settings are overwritten until you get back to free mode.

 

If its in free mode try changing settings to no-one closing the menu and then back to crew and friends see if that solves it?

I always have it set to Crew+Friends and the only time I hear others is during jobs (ofc) or AFTER one on one deathmatches.

Uh yeah. Here's a glitch that I noticed allows people to jump into your friends only channel. If they click 'mute' on you then for some reason they can hear you talk again. Really annoying and if you mute them it silences them again. When somebody uses this glitch I report them because I don't want to talk to them which is why I use crew+friends and they are trying to force me to talk to them which is harassment. Always report them.
