Connection issues. Universal or my terribad ISP?

I lose connection at the end of every job I host, consistently, for the last day or so. Today its so bad that I get timed out, sent back to a rando lobby and even completely lost connection to GTAO.

 

I've been plagued by "Unable to save" issues for the last 24 hours, too.

 

I've worked for years in IT, and as near as I can tell, my normally terrible ISP is working normally. I can reach out to various devices on the Internet, throughput tests (sigh) report fine speeds, etc.

 

That said, I still don't put complete faith in my connection. Is it local, or is it the Rockstar servers that are utterly sucking the last 24 hours?

Are you on PS3? I usually get connection errors at random points while playing V.

there have been issues with servers in the past couple days.

 

just yesterday i got disconnected due to a "unknow network issue" after that every server i joined was empty.

 

stayed like that for well over an hour when it started working normally again. lots of lag and framerate issues tho.

Yeah I've been experience A LOT of lag when flying/driving fast. The city stops rendering and then I freeze in place for 10-30 seconds before I can move again only to have it happen again if I don't stop and let things catch up.

 

It is really frusterating when I'm chasing that bounty and I freeze in place while they zip ahead of me full speed.

So its not just me, good, although I seem to be having a local access issue where whatever nameservers I've got are also timing out; not sure how that factors into how PSN/GTAO works as its name resolution, not connectivity, that's the source of the issue.

 

All I know is it got significantly worse last night and through this morning.

Constant. I reset my router, do an internet dance.. nothing helps. NAT is type 2 and my ps3 always says the connection is good.

 

Constantly getting stuck at a loading screen (why don't these time out after so long and redirect you to the FR Lobby?!), get error messages.. lotsa stuff.

Do you have your PS3 going to a router and then modem? I'm just wondering because I have my PS3 going to a wired router in my room, then to a second router downstairs, then to the modem which I thought may be the cause of the 'Unknown connection error'
