DESCRIPTION:

Paint the town red in the classically-inspired Albany Roosevelt. This armored 1920s limousine is perfect for gangsters and their molls. To properly run amok with the new Roosevelt, get in the driver’s seat and let your friends or Crewmates hang off the side, firing and taking out your rivals as you pass them by. The Roosevelt can be accessed from any garage property in Story Mode and is available in GTA Online from the legendarymotorsport.net in-game website.

 

 

HISTORY:

This car is based on Al Capone's armored 1928 Cadillac 341A Town Sedan. Now, why is it called the Roosevelt? Well, after the attack on Pearl Harbor, the president obviously needed an armored vehicle to protect him against any attacks while traveling, but federal law prohibited purchasing any automobile that cost more than $750. An armored, bulletproof car would certainly cost more than that. Yet there was no time to wait for legislation authorizing such a vehicle, nor the time required to build one, and one was needed instantly. FDR would need it Monday morning.

Secret Service Agent Mike Reilly discovered that after Chicago gangster Al Capone was convicted of income tax evasion in 1931 (he was sent to Alcatraz in August, 1934), the U.S. Treasury Department had seized the crime boss's bulletproof 1928 341A Cadillac Town Sedan. It had a whopping curb weight of 9,000 pounds. Capone's Cadillac was green with black fenders, making it look identical to the 85 Cadillac's that were supplied to Chicago police and city officials. However, it had 3,000 pounds of bullet-proof armor beneath the standard body. Its windshield and windows were made of recently developed inch thick bullet proof glass. A team of government employees and mechanics worked well into the night of December 7 cleaning and preparing the car, checking everything to make sure it would run and perform as intended to be ready for use by FDR the following day.

On December 8, 1941, when Roosevelt left the White House and went to the Capitol to ask Congress to declare a state of war existed with Japan, he made the trip in Capone's refurbished Cadillac.

Roosevelt has a higher acceleration. Stinger GT has a higher speed. Traction/Braking is the same.

The Roosevelt IS race-worthy!

 

IMPORTANT MENTION:

Apparently, the vehicle will not be obtainable when the Valentines Event ends so for those who are interested in keeping it, buy it before the event ends! You will keep the vehicle after the event.

 

Also, be sure to not store it in the 1st garage slot as there is a glitch out there at the moment which wipes out any cars insurance that's placed there.

Didn't a user actually call this? I swear someone made a thread saying how nice it would be to have classic cars and old fashioned clothing from one of the past era's. Can't remember if it was 30's, 50's or 60's though but I know someone said something like that.

 

If I knew who you were, I'd high five you for this accurate guess. Well done.

 

Anyway, this addition and the fact that we get to keep it actually made me happy. I like the look of the suits and I was thinking last night oddly 'It'd be nice to have a tommy gun in this game' and voila, they are adding one in.

Oh also, I noticed that another user had said 'It'd be nice to be able to wear suits and actually see the cuffs' well lol, from the pictures that I saw it does actually seem that you can see the sleeve cuffs of the shirt with the jacket on. Nice.

Legendary Motorsport ? Nothing on that site is below 100k, with a limited time aswell. I hope the price isn't to steap, I'd rather a price than FREE though, the car will mean more to me if I actually had to play missions to earn money to purchase it.

Mainly because that's what it is. It's not exactly a Super...

 

Look at the Z-Type, Stinger, Manana, Peyote, JB 700.... Notice something similar? There's your answer.

 

 

 

I could be wrong and they could add it as a sedan. There are some ridiculous exceptions.

Although it could be free as the Beach Bum cars were. Considering it's going to be on Legendary Motorsport only means that it's quality. Given new free DLC logic, I believe it will come free.

i kinda like the "limited availability" concept when you can keep it forever, unlike the Xmas DLC that had a limited period only...

Agreed...repeated periods like this with special limited time content will bring much needed diversity down the road when people use these items.
