I know this might sound wrong, but I also though Kevin Spacey was fantastic as Lex Luthor in superman returns. He was the only good thing about that film. Mr. Scratch
why would you even use a different model? the reason they used spacey is because he is a mega star and will attract more players. I dont know if thats good as it could make the game even more arcady and casual... I don't know if this is true. A lot of the CoD players probably don't even know who he is. A lot of CoD players don't know what f*cking year it is, let alone Kevin Spacey. TheIllaDopest and Frank Brown

FullMetal
Beta's for consoles are pretty much nothing but crowdpleasers/demos. They serve no real serious purpose. PC gaming has a need of betas because the plethora of unique PC machine builds there are and all the possible errors that could occur on all these different platforms and what it could be the problem for. That being said: I still believe delivering a buggy/shoddy console game shows the quality of a developer. On PC on the other hand I can believe the whole process of delivering a rather unstable product and having to fix it. /sidetrack lol. How were Betas crowdpleasers?! They help a lot with the balancing and bug fixing. There are no Betas anymore. EA calls it Beta 4 weeks before release, while its just a Demo of the Game in Beta Stage. Most of the real bugfixing and balancing gets done ages before. And you should read what I said.... the entire post. Betas as we have seen them for popular FPS games these last years are nothing but glorified demos. Thats why BF has gamebreaking bugs in it? The last one which gives you a deathshield which makes you invulnerable. Or an awful netcode... all of this could have been discovered and fixed way before release with a beta and not just internal playtests. You do know BF4 had a beta you know that? And don't blame it on Dice being bad Developers... it's merely a bad strategy on EA's part f*cking things up with Dice/BF. First you say: Betas as we have seen them for popular FPS games these last years are nothing but glorified demos. Now you say: You do know BF4 had a beta you know that? And I even said, that BF Betas are just a Demo of the game in Beta Stage. The actual game is even further in development. Not even mentioning that those "Betas" take place like only 4 weeks before release. The only thing they could learn from those "Betas" are balancing issues for a very small number of weapons. And where did I blame DICE??? I always saidm that its EA pushing the Game out to compete with CoD...

iNero
This sounds promising: During video game publisher Activision’s most recent earnings call, Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg detailed a few of the effects a next-gen-focused development cycle will have on Sledgehammer Games’ recently unveiled Call of Duty title, Advanced Warfare. According to Hirshberg, first and foremost, fans should notice a significant increase in “visual and graphical fidelity and polish,” he said. “[Advanced Warfare] is our first true next-gen – pure next-gen development where we have access to the new hardware throughout the development process, unlike Ghosts which was cross gen.” “It’s allowed more time for experimentation, creativity, and iteration in the development process,” he added. “That lead to things like us adding some of the first new mechanics and core gameplay in the franchise in a long time – things like boost jump, and EXO strength, and new melee mechanics which we’ve also had time to test with our players to make sure that they resonate and will create a compelling and balanced gameplay.” Earlier reports revealed that other EXO suit abilities also include boost-dodge techniques, slow-mo capabilities, grappling enhancements, and zip lines. Hirshberg also hopes that Kevin Spacey’s performance in Advanced Warfare’s single player campaign, captured with “full performance capture technology that [Activision] revealed last year at DGC,” will will reach “iconic” status. http://mp1st.com/2014/05/06/advanced-warfare-activisions-first-pure-next-gen-call-duty-will-new-melee-mechanics/#.U2mUyPl_tAI But you know the PR talk... HaythamKenway
Slow-mo capabilities? I hope it'll work like Bullet Time in MP3's multiplayer, I loved that mechanic. Also, Harry Gregson-Williams is composing the score. This game is really looking better and better every day.

I don't feel like there's a point in discussing with you because you don't even get it properly. And yes I said that. Because we're discussing the so called 'betas' of nowadays. And I use the term 'beta' because that's what they're called eventhough I don't agree that they're truly 'beta's' and are merely glorified demos (in the means of they don't surve a real purpose of rebalancing, playtesting, possible use of statistics/feedbacks to optimise or balance the game). I only said 'BF4 had a beta you know that' because you're the one praising 'public Betas' for no reason (and not realising they're glorified demos) and on the other hand stating that BF4 needed one. Whatever /sidetracked in pointless argument. Daz
GunWrath
Eh, sorry.. not only are Call of Duty's simply remakes of their last editions but for f*ck sake.. like really? Steal ideas from a sh*t movie like Elysium? f*ck all this modern combat, advanced combat, let's go back to WWII already. World at War was amazing and entertaining. Now we have to deal with what? Robotic suits and what? Probably chasing and neutralizing another f*cking warhead set off? Eh. So f*cking sick of Call of Duty at this rate. I bought Ghosts for the campaign to see what their new 'approach' was and I found not a f*cking thing that was new other than weapons and scenery. 'Interactive' maps.. lulz, where? Sure, Battlefield has it's bugs and issues now and then like any game.. but it's still better than what Activision has released in the last 4 f*cking years with this title. I was a hardcore CoD fan back in the COD4 days, didn't much like MW2 but I've played Black Ops I quite a good bit and even though it wasn't a 'perfect' MP experience, it was still fun.. but I mean god damn.. have they still not learned to go back to their roots by now? If you're a CoD fanboy, don't argue back with what I've said, instead, bitch at Activision and IW for not improving since their last release. It's time COD finally went back to what it truly was, an awe-inspiring MP that kept players intrigued for more than 10mins. I went to the Advance Warfare site and watched that intro.. I was like, 'really, oh wait, Matt Damon did that in Elysium' .. f*cking really? Eh f*ck it, I've lost all hope for this sh*t, even it's Single-Player where their true magic USED to be. f*ck 'em.. Battlefield for life now I reckon. #fkufanboys. Abel.

I said 1000 TIMES that BF Betas are simply Demos of the game. And I NEVER "praised" puplic Demos/Betas... I said that they need more closed betas like 6 months before release with people from the community who actually know what they are talkin about... JackFrags, chaboy, LevelCap, Frankieonpc... Chris Fromage
Eh, sorry.. not only are Call of Duty's simply remakes of their last editions but for f*ck sake.. like really? Steal ideas from a sh*t movie like Elysium? COD does that a lot. They took some parts of "saving private Ryan" for COD 2 and World at war, "Gates of hell" for World at War also, and a few more I don't remember right now. But it's a pretty good strategy if you ask me. People who like "saving private Ryan" for example are then more interested in the game, and people who liked the game, will learn about the movie and maybe watch it. WIN-WIN situation over here. HaythamKenway
@Chris Fromage Yup. Everybody does that, even R*. Blitz Play, anyone? Three Leaf Clover? Breaking the Bank at Caligula's? The entire Vice City? I don't see anything wrong with little homages and shout outs. Anyway, I haven't seen Elysium, but I know some basic stuff about the movie. AW's plot (what we know about it) will be nothing like it. And it's not like Elysium invented augmentations and exoskeletons. If there is some inspiration, I'd point to MGS. I'm getting serious MGS 4/Revengeance vibes from AW. PMCs, near future, advanced tech, cyborgs, even themes like soldiers' loyalties and "battlefield control". I too, want another WW II CoD. AW won me over with its theme and promise of implementing sci-fi tech in fun ways, but I hope Treyarch will at least bring BO back to Cold War next year, if they won't make WaW II (pretty please). Having two near future CoDs seems redundant to me and AW seems to embrace its setting more than BO II did. The best thing all three studios could do is just divide the eras - Sledgehammer would get the future, Treyarch the past and IW should set their games again in contemporary "realistic" world, like CoD 4.
