I guess some of the characters in GTA V didn't have the impact on me like the characters from previous games. Everything about him is fake, and he's just powerful enough to call the shots or tip things his way. He wants recognition more than he wants the job done right. As long as he looks good, its all that matters to him. Weston was a guy too rich and powerful with an entire army. He would've been a great antagonist had R* focused more on him. Corrupt men thinking he is above the law, using fake excuses and permissions as an cop (or FIB agent, in Steve's case) to do whateaver they want and still making them look like heroes or smth.. maybe for the lenth of the game being too short, there was no time to focus more on him. Devin Weston... he isn't hateable at all.. for the main antagonist, they should have put more effort into his personality and actions. I liked the "rich douchebag" idea, but seriously, they should have made him more of an asshole. I kind of feel bad for killing him.. didn't feel too good when i finally got to kill that Dmitri Rascalov asshole in GTA IV.. Harold "Joseph" Stretch.... man.. he is probably the worst "antagonist" ever... i mean, really, what the f*ck did he really done thats so bad to make him a main antagonist? Setup Lamar and Franklin in ONE MISSION? Tryed to kill Lamar? Side up with the Ballas? From my point of view, the Cheng Clan were the better antagonist.. even so, they could have put a lot more effort into the writing part for them, wich would have made the best GTA in history.. This whole 3 characters scheme f*cked up most of things, like good antagonists.. they need at least 1 for each playable char, and they give us crappy ones, instead of only one main characther and lots of good antagonists like late GTAs had.. And if anyone still thinks that this multi characther in an open world was started by GTA, you should play Batman Arkham City. There is switching to Catwoman in some points through the city, and even to Robin if you play on PC... Just my point of view.. You can now throw your fanboyism stones at me. But I was all set for the chance to take out Steven f*cking Haines when the time came. I wish it had not been so anticlimactic. I agree with others who said that Devin Westoon was plenty unlikable, and it was good to have an opportunity to kill him too, but they missed the opportunity to flesh him out a bit more and make his machinations more devious and more obviously self-interested, to teach the lesson that money trumps all morals, plus his obvious overconfident SoCal personality. It's really telling that some of the people responding to this thread may be confused about which character is which. The story was kind of only on the level of a TV episode.
