Disable auto aim on yourself?

I noticed that I cannot lock on certain players at all while it works on all other players totally fine.

I don't need auto aim / free aim arguments here, I am just wondering if there's a glitch or something like that to prevent people from locking on you.

Every time I encountered this, NONE of my friends could lock on the same player(s) aswell. First it works, but after we kill someone several times, it just doesn't work anymore. Like when they enable some bullsh*t.

It's called "evasive maneuvers", and they can be done easily to avoid getting locked on.
You learn those in 2 hours in free-aim....

Funny... ;)

Those guys are just walking in a straight line. You cannot lock on them at all...

Whatever free aimer snobs. There's def a glitch I've encountered numerous times. The person ain't moving and we still couldn't lock on him. No evasive maneuvers were goin on

In all honesty...the AA targeting system is flawed as well. Sometimes it acts like something is blocking your line of sight even though it's clear as day, others it can't lock on properly and instead aims to the right of the target, or it simply doesn't lock on anything.

It could be that you got unlucky and the AA is screwing you over...it did so to me when i played AA.

But always on the same player only? Not only for me but also for all my teammates? That must be very bad luck IMO :/

I ran into this last night as well. Several of us were harrassing a guy that greifed us for a bit...we had a great little war going and then after a respawn he sat really still for a bit...I got in a good spot and went to snipe him but whenever I put the scope on him it would not allow me to fire. When I was slightly off him everything worked normal...It made it look like I was a horrible shot but in truth I just could not fire a hit shot. We then chased him on foot out of the swamp onto the highway and he grabbed a car. 4 of us laid into that car with auto aim and he was never touched. I have no explanation but sounds similar to your claim.

this sounds like passive mode :p

my issue is about not being able to lock on some people at all. You just cannot use auto aim at them. If I knew I had to aim at people with free aim, it wouldn't bother me, but when you expect your character to automatically lock on someone and he doesn't, you just die for no good reason, which is highly annoying.

I thought auto aim and free aim were split into 2 lobby types and never meet up (in free roam at least?) I only thought that off whats been said round here... Is that wrong?

Yes! This has happened to me so many times and has allowed a noob to get a kill on me. My god it is so frustrating rofl!

I think it happens when you've killed someone a few times, it could be the game's way of balancing out the playing field?

'No auto-aim for you, your opponent sucks hard cock so you don't need to own him that bad'

I think it's just a glitch because usually the auto aim spins to the highest priority target. Maybe they go to low priority because they don't know how to shoot their guns properly or something like that? Would love to know the real reason.

Also, what is the difference between Traditional GTA and assisted aiming? I use traditional GTA.

I don't think it's the game's way of balancing since it happens completely randomly and those guys usually gain the lead just because of this. and they always had their auto aim enabled, I can assure you this. I can notice the difference between auto aim and free aim...

it's just so strange that several people cannot lock on one guy while he can lock on everyone else

The biggest difference is that Traditional lets you switch targets while aiming and Assisted doesn't. Also the lock on timer is shorter with Assisted.

This has happened to me a few times. Its usually a guy with a bounty on his head just standing there and noonee can kill him. So I think its an exploit.

Had this happen to me and a friend last night. We both bugged out after doing a gang attack. We were both stuck in mission mode and couldn't fire if aiming at each other my mate couldn't request jobs from contacts as it just told him we were in a mission. Sorted it by jumping on a job from the pause menu.

might be that this had happened to this guy also?

I have seen it a couple of times. Guy could kill me, but I could not lock onto him.

Crimson Flam3s

lol auto aim noobs.

If the game is not auto aiming to someone, have you tried manually doing it and maybe shooting? if you couldn't shoot then it might be an exploit or something, maybe passive mode glitch.

there is no " argument " here... just get your ass to free aim and that's it

no it has nothing to do with free aim or not, the trigger is disabled and you cant fire when the sight is on the guy. I think its a glitch/exploit as well. I like the other poster have gotten into a glitched state by accident while in a gang war.

A tank was harass killing me near the pier, I ran under and it started the gang attack, as I ran out the other side the tank griefer, to my suprise couldn't kill me. He tried and tried, and then sent me a nasty "Modder" message.. lol

I'm not a snob. :(

& that sucks. I've never encountered this when I was in Auto-Aim... I'll go back there today to see if I run into this "glitch."

Anyway... time to convert, comrades. We need more players in the free-aim lobbies. Free 25% RP boost in every game mode, and bragging rights all day. :3

OP i know exactly what you're talking about. and it sucks. i used to mix up my modes but these days i just like the easy life of auto-aim. it lets me concentrate on the bit i like better, manoeuvring and location.

and like you said, i have no problem free aiming if i know i need to free aim... but if i expect to lock, and the other guy knows i can't, that's BS and annoying as all hell. usually i think it happens when i'm taking on a group of people, but just one of them, so i wondered if it was some glitch if you got invited from free-aim into an auto session you could retain your mode or something.

This sh*t does happen a lot.

Player is walking up on me weapon drawn, I'm around a corner about to lean out and shoot him but AA ignores other player.

I guess it's C*'s punishment for not playing like a good little angel.

TeammateHelper

Passive mode glitch.

Also, don't bother switching lobbies. If you're a free-aimer, stay there. If you're AA, stay there. If you're traditional, stay there.

It's the same thing. Pricks are everywhere. The only difference is aiming style and honestly it's not that big a deal.

I'm not going to act like I know for sure but I'm fairly certain it's a passive mode glitch, I noticed it seems to happen to me when I'm at war with another player and they switch to passive and then when they come back I can't lock on and there blip looks normal on the map. Like I said though I could be completely wrong.
