IV or V

I don't get why everyone on this forum likes IV so much. Not counting the birds-eye view ones, in my opinion it was the worst GTA to date. Don't get me wrong it wasn't bad at all, but definitely not as good as the rest.

Yeah It was the worst GTA not unplayable but could never go back and play it.

Both GTA V and IV have online but which in your opinion is better?

 

I preferred IV's just because it was a lot easy to access and use.

 

Thats the main thing...in IV we were so used to one loading screen...essentially just the lobby screen...in V we have like 3-4 before the actual launch of the mission/DM.

 

While V is a better overall experience, IV multi-player was just friendlier when it came to getting where you wanted to go.

 

The QUICK JOBS menu sucks in V....because it seems to send me to Prison Thugz Fight six times a session, its ridiculous and if you walk into the DM icon you want...99% of the time, im the only one in there having to send INVITES to the entire list of players in session.

Seriously though, I like V better. IV was fun, but it wasn't as immersive. I do believe that V has still a lot more to offer, just when. And then maybe it can surpass RDR.

V. never got into IV multiplayer much but have put many hours, even days, into V online

IV. Because you could make your own free mode with your own options, you have to collect your weapons (because spawning with RPGs pisses me off), it actually took skill, there are no tanks and jets (I wish there were planes tho)? and the online community (clans) were a lot better.

You guys don't know what you are talking about. GTA V is the worst gta to date. I only play it because all of my friends play it.

I much prefer 5 online but I'm biased as I never really got into 4 much, maybe I didn't give it enough of a chance but whenever I'd play 4 online it felt like gaming without much of a purpose. That's not to say 4 singleplayer couldn't compete with updated graphics and three playable characters and extra features like the jet. One thing I can say for sure is gta V map design is much better as it has that variety that VI never had.

Superior aspects of IV: car handling, bike handling, chopper handling, vehicle damage, in-air balance control, spectating after winning, multi-coloured blips.

 

Superior aspects of V: huge map, paint your cars, keep 10 cars, keep weapons, fly planes.

 

V may have a better, bigger or prettier "world" but IV plays better.

V takes it overall in the mp side. But it could have been better if they kept untouched -or improved- what made IV great, like the racing.

 

In the sp side IV is superior easily.

IV, still play IV with friends, but if nobody else is online I play V

IV because i could play it for a long time and have so much fun, where as when I'm on v I get bored instantly it seems like they dropped the ball on V

I didn't get to rank 10 on GTA IV until the last few months before V released but I had over 500 hours of playtime on it combined through PS3/360 and PC

 

So far it's been a few months on GTA V and I only have 4 days of playtime because I was grinding my ass to rank 100, I'm having absolutely ZERO fun.

On IV Free Roam was actually organized when you had the right group, with absolutely no worries..

V on the other hand has strict limitations whether you want to believe it or not, and dying on Free Roam is a huge hassle which makes you think twice about messing around for hours a day.

Why the hell is everyone getting so upset over people liking IV more than V?

 

V's story is complete sh*t. Drunken Cowboy's Identity Crisis Thread can explain it all to you. All 3 stories of GTAIV were better than V's, by themselves, let alone as a whole.

 

IV's inclusion of friendly free roam made free roam completely different because people weren't just shooting everyone and everything on site. The only thing I enjoy about V's online more, is the missions, ranking system, and character creation.

 

-Liberty City > V's San Andreas

 

-GTAIV racing > GTA V racing

 

-Cops and Crooks

 

-Friendly free roam

 

-Better story

 

-Lobby options to turn cops off

 

I love how everyone assumes it's nostalgia. God forbid my options differs from yours. IV was a better game, and always will be, IMO.

SA map is smaller. Stop telling sh*t.

There are lot more roads and country lanes. Moutains and such things. so much more to explore than in SA, it's so damn obvious, but you, V haters are blind.

 

IV's online was boring. No new tracks and stuff. It was stuck with limited content, unlike GTA Online.
