It's fun BECAUSE of all the assholes!

 

It's been at the stage for a while where everyone is pretty much shoot on sight before they shoot you (the ultimate end-game of US gun culture perhaps? ;)), only rarely do you encounter nice people and even then give them the chance to be nice but in a way this is what makes online fun. It's degenerated into a ghetto slum of kill or be killed but that gives way to some supremely satisfying moments IF you are on the right end of them!

 

 

Today I was flying around the city in an Annihilator, randomly shooting at things, (rarely hitting any to be honest) myself being a bit of an asshole when I was trumped by the king of the breed - a tank driver. Shot me out of the sky with his little convoy of Police vehicles in tow, feeling invulnerable and good about life no doubt.

 

My goal in the game was now clear. I grab a deserted police car and zip off down the highway in search of the distant white dot, sure enough there he is on a bridge, shooting at everything in sight but being in the far distance this is my opportunity - I step out of the car with the sniper rifle and one-shot later - boom he's dead. Back in the car and off to collect my reward... As I get in the tank I can see he's spawned and seemingly randomly looking around, wondering how this can have happened?? What ensued over the next 10 minutes before I had to go to work was spawn-killing him about half a dozen times, some great shots in there as well as he was driving away.

 

That is what makes it worthwhile and fun, someone being an asshole to you but you getting the chance for vengeance, to make their lives a misery for as long as you can for them doing you wrong. Far more satisfying than cruising around and happily waving at everyone in peaceful harmony. Life is full of assholes but it's rare that you get the chance to really make them pay for it. :)

 

 

Yup, was a cool story bro, but that's why I still like GTA Online!

I started playing online at release, one of my first sessions I saw a guy trying to get over the fence at the AF base. I came down in a Frogger to give him a lift and he imediately shot me and took off.

 

Point is, this is not "new behavior"

I was expecting that to be honest, I would have spent the day trying to make him do so had I not had to go to work.

 

I got caught yesterday by a tank I couldn't snipe for some reason, didn't realise you can't call a mugger until level 50 either so got wiped a couple more times, just such a pussy way to play! (trying to level my second character up so I can have more cars!)

yeah that grates my balls, these idiots will spend all day spawn killing u given half the chance, but when you take them out and start returning the favour, they are only too quick to leave session.

 

point being, guys spawn killing in tanks are pussy's who are not able or suck at using normal weapons... or they're trying to get their K/D ratio up which doesn't fool anyone if they in a normal gun fight and cant kill anyone enough to justify the K/D ratio lol...

No the point has been missed completely. It's not spawn killing noobs, it's spawn killing some tank tosser who's been raping the city all morning, beating them at their own game. Try to read.

Just because its fun for you doesn't make it the undisputed reason as to why GTA is fun still...just saying. :lol:

 

For me its fun because I play with friends and do missions and help low ranks rank up.

 

Now you don't see me saying "Helping low ranks makes this game fun still" like its fact do you?

I tought it was fun because it's GTA Online, a place where you can play with your friends and do missions with them, own your own appartment, have up to 10 cars and play various minigames with them while it being a Grand Theft Auto game.

You chose to play a game called Grand Theft Auto, about stealing cars and shooting people. It's a fair assumption that if you prefer to smile and wave at people there would be more fitting games. My post was in response to many claiming that GTA online is terrible and been ruined by many things including all the tanks etc when in MY OPINION getting back at those kinds of players actually adds some enjoyment to the game.

After playing the same handful of missions over and over again, hassling other people in free roam in the form of killing them is the only thing you can actually do in this game anyway. So yeah, that is why this game is still fun and the only reason why this game is still fun tbh.

Gonna disagree.

 

This mission are always fun.. Theres more then a handful of mission also.

 

 

For mission tho.. if you wan to get the most of it.. Play with pistols or melee weapons only, don't use PVs, use free aim and play on hard.

Disagree all you like. That's your right. I disagree with you though. The missions are boring and repetitive and the only time I have fun on this game is when I am slaughtering hordes of noobs who I have aggro'd enough to try to hunt me in teams.
