Crate & Special Crate drops

Hi all,

 

Im really now confused, are these crate and special crate drops happening at all? im a high enough level character and have spent around 12 days online with this account and have yet to see any crate drop whatsoever...

My longest game session was just short of 9 hours with an average game session of 48 minutes or so, how is it possible to not get any crate drops?

Anyone else having this problem? im really wanting to get all my awards but cant if i will never get crate drops.

They're pretty rare. Although there is a glitch going around where some people can't see them or pick them up.

Got prompts for them twice in different sessions, as if I'm gonna sit and wait 10 hours for them. But I have had instances where I'll be at the area and nothing happens though.

Its pretty dissapointing, its an awesome feature that gives us shootouts and such in areas we don't usually go to.

on my 1st PSN account and level 116 i was seeing them daily, all the time.

 

my 2nd PSN account and level 125 i have yet to see just one....

OP, Make sure they are unlocked (check in the pause menu - unlockables), if they are not make sure you do a Trevor mission after that Ron should give you a call about crate drops. most of the ones I see in crowded lobbies are glitched and don't drop though.

 

Also general fyi I have never seen a normal crate job in solo session but i did get the Special DLC crate drop in a solo session once straight after switching in after a long normal session (kind of like when you get good behavior money) so try swapping to new sessions every now and then rather than hours in the same.

I haven't seen a crate drop on Xbox since 1.7

Everyone in the server has to be a certain level for it to happen. You'd have better odds in an invite only session

They still don't drop if anyone has entered the dropzone, i seen two guys fighting over one for about an hour(realtime) which was quite funny, i tried to tell them but got told to shut up as i'm a fag.

If you just ignore it then it'll fall.There is enough time for you to get there and collect b4 it disappear.Works for me atleast....

For those it does affect, no crates have dropped or even been announced since patch 1.06. Ron will still calll and ask why you're not collecting them, even though you can't.

 

Report the issue to http://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/sections/200105413-Grand-Theft-Auto-Online-Support if you want them to actually fix it, because the only way they'll do anything about it is if people make some noise. You can also upvote similar reports about the same issue.

I think they should just drop the crate without warning, like they do with the Simion HPV. Either that or give a heads up but not let players know where its going to drop.

Quick question: when you get a message that a (special) crate will drop in like 10 hours, is that only for the session you're in? Surely they can't expect you to wait for 10 hours without doing any jobs, so that a crate might drop, and if it does, you might be the one to get it.

I see the popup all the time but I rarely ever see it happen. The marker shows up and players swarm the area but it never drops. I managed to get 1 during the Beach Bum drops. I've been playing since day 1 and I have personally SEEN 3. But usually it doesn't drop. Just another buggy feature of the game

So that means the 13 minute idling timer is really just seconds.

I get them every lobby.

On Tuesday last week we had 3 specials drop within 5 hours.

They do glitch though and that green thing never goes.

I havent seen a crate drop in at least a month and yes i do have them unlocked. I was getting them all the time but 1.08 or .09 pretty much removed them for me.

I have had some pretty awesome shootouts with like 5+ people on the racetrack waiting for the crate to drop. I mean sure it never came but still.... man it really is a bit of a letdown that they still haven't fixed this.

I've gotten 4 crates in the last few days. All uncontested. Fly up, blast the NPC dude's with my Buzzard, grab the loot, leave. Honestly though, I'd make more money selling whatever crappy car happens to be outside LSC when driving by... And one armored truck heist is about a weeks worth of crate drops (there was a huge run on armored trucks in our lobby today, I think everyone got a few).

Like several features in this game, it seems to be intermittent. I have lately seen them drop frequently. A few days ago I log on, one drops 10 minutes later. I grabbed it, and then almost immediately the Simeon car spawns, someone grabs that and turns it in and then an armored truck spawns almost immediately. Hit the armored truck, and here comes an inbound crate message. I suspect that is how it is SUPPOSED to work a constant cycle with very short intervals between each, but this game is so buggy that it doesnt work.

I see them often but I don't bother with them.

They don't worth it.
