every car i see that slides off the highway into the ditch were RWDs.

I honestly think that people's inability to drive RWD vehicles in the snow is a reflection of the driver and not the drivetrain. I live in Ohio, my first car was a Crown Vic, and I drove that in countless winter storms for years. Never once had a problem driving it because I knew to drive appropriate to the conditions. The only time it ever got stuck was on a side street I parked it on during the winter and even then I got it out after 30 minutes. Never once had a problem driving it. Same with the FWD car I own now. Just drive smart for the conditions and you won't end up in a ditch.

 

Plus, I don't believe your initial statement. The last car I saw in a ditch in the snow was a Nissan Altima. Prior to that most of them are Hondas. Only RWDs I've seen in ditches were trucks and SUVs.
