Killing with no intention?

So me and my friend decided to go to the beach on gta online. Then once we got to the docks, then this dude just keeps killing us for no reason. Why would you kill someone who didn't even provoke you? This is what GTA online has become. Kill, Kill, Kill... Where is the fun? Why can't we all just take sandkings, load up atv's and haul them up the mountain? And for you guys saying "GTA is about killing, go play sims", If GTA is about killing, then why do we have golf, tennis, planes, tunable cars, apartments, races, submarines, radio, stunt jumps?

The intent was to kill. Don't over think it. Fun is a matter a perspective, and these situations are expected in freemode.

Not really, but it can be played that way. It's a sandbox with multiple choices, but you don't win or lose a freemode.

 

It can be viewed as a practice range to prepare for real matches, but Rockstar made a very big mistake by counting stats in freemode so most players end up treating it like a ranked game.

 

The real purpose of GTA: Online freemode was to basejump from one job to another, and to get your character ready in between. Unfortunately, it turned out to be more desirable that the jobs. The only downside is that you blow a lot of money in freemode, so you need to do jobs if you run low.

The game was not designed for players to ruin each others enjoyment. What you're describing is trolling, and this is just something that exists in certain individuals who need importance from making others unhappy. I would not consider shooting people in freemode as trolling. There are ways to troll in freemode, but killing each other is one of the games objectives.

Some people don't understand that this isn't gta 4 anymore. Free roam is supposed to be a world full of activities to do, but all they want to do is kill each other.

Freemode can be very frustrating at times depending on perception. I've killed players before and heard them laugh about it like a joke. Others, like myself, will take a death very personal, because of competitiveness, and seek revenge. Attitude and sportsmanship make a huge difference. The game itself is just a sandbox, and players make choices in it. Some of these choices can be more towards ruining others enjoyment, but that doesn't mean the game was made for this. Last night, some guy spammed me with messages saying I am mad while he hid in a tunnel. This was obviously his own choice on how to use the games features, and doesn't mean the messaging system was necessarily made to send people troll messages. A sandbox has many options, and some will find ways to exploit them for trolling. It's the same in every sport. Some people just have f*cked up attitudes and they want to make others unhappy. The design of freemode itself does allow harassment and stalking of other players, but this is just something that you will not be able to avoid and there are many ways to deal with a player like this.
