ten-a-penny
I prefer the reboot on the original because the reboot's fanbase is 999999999999999999999999999999 billion times better than the garbage 1993 version. seriously though. sure, hate whatever you want. but don't expect everyone to have the exact same f*cking mind as you. I used to hate IV. did I spammed everybody in the IV section that IV sucked and that whoever likes it is a f*cking gay? nope. hell I only exposed my hate for it when on debates. though I like the game now. I used to love both versions because BMFM is BMFM no matter what. now I f*cking hate the original series because of its drugged up fanbase. seriously!? get blocked JUST FOR POSITIVE-TALKING ABOUT IT!!? go to FA and see the porn there (note, its FA not DA. want some SANE Fan Art? then DA is your site) the same with Spyro. now I'm even ashamed to say I'm a Spyro fan. sure, ANTIvision ruined Spyro, but that doesn't ruin the Spyro universe. the same with BMFM. sure, as I said before, the show took a 180 degree turn, and the show has sometimes bad animation, but that doesn't automatically make it bad plus, its funnier than the original. I always set in my mind that the reboot's timeline is before the original's timeline. so 1993's version takes place on the 2000+ while the reboot take time around the 90' problem solved. there's reason why they're super skinny, why everything is bright, etc. BMFM 2006 on the PS2 FTW! triple as better. 90% of my Original Characters are based on them. plus, Throttle, Modo and Cataclysm look 100% cooler Edited April 10, 2014 by ten-a-penny
LeVelocar
I don't care if you like the show. What does annoy me is the fact that lots of MLP fans call themselves "bronies". "Brony"? Wtf? What kind of word is that? "Bronies" is also supposed to be short for "Bro pony". My god, that is dorky. Why can't "bronies" just call themselves "MLP fans"? Because they're idiots of the mindset that anything feminine is bad, that being feminine would be worse. So they yell "no! I'm a BROny! It's totally masculine!!" Basically, the same testosterone poisoned nonsense that drives every teenage male. Clem Fandango and IVIechanomics

I don't think there's any group consensus behind the reason for the name, it was probably just something coined by a single person, and it was catchy enough to catch on with other fans, like glee fans who call themselves gleeks because it's glee mixed with geek, and catchy enough. Even if that was the thinking behind every fan of FiM calling themselves a brony you'd think they'd have been turned off from ever watching the show in the first place, and very uncomfortable with themselves if they did continue watching it. Niobium
^ i agree. I don't give a f*ck if you like MLP but stop calling yourselves "bronies". That word is more annoying than the words "swag" and "yolo". ten-a-penny
Danz.
I've watched a full episode RIP Melchior's dignity. I watched the first episode like a year ago or something. It's definitely watchable in my opinion. If I had a child or nephew\niece or something I wouldn't mind watching it. Pretty much yeah. It's something that you can watch with a younger family member. I don't think I would watch it, even if I was a kid. I used to hate these kind of cartoons when I was little, I would wait for them to finish just so I could watch things that were really worth for my age back then, such as Dragon Ball, Slayers, Outlaw Star, Love Hina, Digimon, Tenchi Muyo and Rurouni Kenshin. What can you learn from MLP? It's really cringe worthy to think that adult men fantasize about these ponies and comment about it in internet forums. Right now I'm watching Welcome to the NHK, and I think of those "bronies" as people who are in a much worse situation than the protagonists of that show. Edited April 12, 2014 by Danz. I guess it does seem kinda counter-intuitive to claim to be breaking past gender norms and then call yourself (and expect the entire fandom to call themselves) a brony. "Bro" isn't formally neutral, but I've heard people use it for females too, kinda like some people do with "dude." It's not common, but it might excuse some of it. Oh wait... And apparently MLP has no entertainment value. Who knew! Oh wait, that's just your opinion. Tell you what, I don't like the Big Bang Theory. I think it's annoying and unfunny. But guess what? That guy over there likes it. Does that make him autistic or any less of a human being than me? No, because it's his opinion. He thinks the show is funny. I don't. Big deal. Of course, from your perspective might be that he is retarded. Same thing applies to MLP, except it's just harder for people to compute because it's a cartoon about ponies, but the same rule applies. As for people complaining about the fandom, think of it this way. You're on the GTA forums because you like GTA, right? You talk and debate about it, and some of you might make memes or art based on the game. The brony fandom is the same, just on a larger scale. Sure, some bronies take it too far, but "too far" is just by your perspective. Look at it as a bunch of like-minded individuals having fun and sharing creations based on a mutual interest. There's nothing wrong with that because it doesn't harm you.
ten-a-penny
I don't get what's so amazing about the show in itself, its just about ponies, unicorns, and one dragon. just that. funny, yes. but to be praised as if it was the very first cartoon in the whole universe? nope. sure, the drawing, animating, voice acting (at least for Arabic) brightness etc are amazing. one of the best Digital-Made nowadays cartoon hands down. no arguements in this one. but to be worshiped like this? its just out of sense.... sure, like whatever you want. hate whatever you want. but not to this crazy level. my entire family loves Tom & Jerry. even though that they're my parents. but to go outside with selfish statements and names on them? nope.... as many here knows, I'm a big BMFM 2006 fan. do I go around with something on my butt as if it was a tail and go blasting any cat I see on the streets? nope. so why this get praised to this level by ADULTS? Most know it's just a cartoon. But why not have some fun and make some fan art and fan fiction? I don't think doing either of those things is going overboard into worshipping the show, but some people think it is. Meh. That's like saying "I saw a video of some black guys in a shootout and there's a few 'shady' looking black guys at my school, so the stereotype that most black guys are criminals must be accurate." How does that sound? That's a pretty bold statement, comparing a group of people who live for a children's program to a race of people. If you were to go to my school, the bulk of "bronies" or whatever they want to call themselves quite literally fit the stereotype. Cargo shorts/pants, fedora, neckbeard, etc. Like this one dude who I know at my school. I can't recall having ever met anybody who watches the show without shoving it into peoples faces like it's the second coming of jesus. LeVelocar
That's because you only know they watch it because they shove it in people's faces. Which is honestly one of the milder reasons why bronies can fall down a well. I bet you've met a few who watch it, but you never clued in because they were smart enough not to squeeze their D-cup moobs into a shirt for five year olds. (Also are there any mlp fans here since the thread IS called my little pony)Well, I'm a fan of course, as shown by my defense of bronies. Also, I see what you're saying, and I agree. I don't see how having a pony avatar is taking things too far and being too flamboyant in your interest in the show. I mean, no one's been getting on my case about having modest mouse related avatars. Jeez. Yes, there are definitely people who defend the show like it's the second coming of Jesus. You know, like it's the greatest thing ever AND ERRYONE MUS WATCH IT!!11!1!1 I think this comes from them being a bit too in to the show, but it's also caused by some people's hatred towards bronies. When you have people saying you should go cut off your dick because you watch a girls show, I think some people react very defensively and end up shoving the show down people's throats. It's a bit ironic if you think about it, as these are the same people that complain about bronies being too loud about the show, even though they're provoking them with taunts. Most bronies watch it to feel entitled, hence why they call themselves bronies and feel the need to preach that they are. Nah, I wouldn't say that. I mean, some are definitely preachy and say everyone must watch it, but IMO this is partially caused by the hate they/we get for liking the show. With that said, keep in mind nothing I've said in this thread is meant to come across as preachy of the show. The only thing I'm "preaching" is tolerance of other people's interests, which is something we all should have learned to have when we were kids.
