Flūttershy
I know, not everyone does it, but A LOT still do and I honestly hate to point it out, but most of the people I've seen that do do this type of sh*t are handicapped, whether it be Autism, or some other type of mental illness. And I think that is the shows appeal to many people. It seems to me that the a large proportion of Bronies would feature somewhere on the autism scale. The simple depiction of friendship and social interaction, the clear division between right and wrong and the friendly accessible characters are all things which would appeal to people with autisum, Asbergers, learning difficulties etc. Yeah, this is what I've always thought, though I'm not sure they're all or even mostly clinically autistic, just a bit overwhelmed by all the irony and complicated references you find in modern media. It's be a bit hard to understand an episode of Family Guy if you never left the house. You guys are making generalizations again. I have no doubt that some people who watch the show are like you describe, but most of us simply like the show because it's fun and has good characters. And no, I am not disabled in any way, I fully understand irony, sarcasm and other social queues, and South Park just happens to be one of my favorite shows that I laugh my ass off too. Most bronies I've met are the same way. na89340qv0n34b09q340

That's why we find it so baffling that you like that show.

Lelouch The Zero
You know what, if someone likes a show to that degree, well that's fine by me. I think it's wonderful that people have a great dedication to their favorite show/hobby. Anyone calling other people retarded or some sh*t because they like or watch a certain thing is absolutely retarded in itself. I've had many people call me retarded for being a huge Anime fan and watching lots of anime. But you know what, that's half the reason why I don't associate with people, I just stay in my room most of the time and mind my own damn business, and also because I am socially awkward. Gnocchi Flip Flops
I do believe that grown men who watch the show are either bored as hell or a little... out there. I'm all for having your own preference, but stuff like this is arguably strange. If my friend was a brony, I wouldn't automatically unfriend him, but it would be weird as hell. Though at the same time, it can make you feel sad or happy for the characters involved. If a sizable group of adult fans of spongebob went to conventions in spongebob costumes and said "sponge ya later!" whenever they meant to say goodbye, as a sign of comradeship, how would you feel about the show? How would you feel about fans of the show who sincerely didn't participate in any of that stuff, but did use the same fan name for themselves as that group of people? How would you feel about fans of the show that only participated in that sort of thing online, or amongst friends who were also into it, but never with anyone who wasn't an admitted fan of the show? The lack of ponies makes it slightly less absurd, but I'd view it the same way as Bronydom, for the most part. Also, I wouldn't say the adult jokes are "thrown in for fun." All of the jokes appeal to adults, more or less. 70% are non-sequiturs, the rest are stuff kids would never get. Also an adult can appreciate the production values and the music in a Disney or Pixar film, particularly in Disney films the score tends to be pretty complex and detailed. trip
There is no such thing as a bronie. Those people just need to conform to some sort of non-conformity, and then they feel the need to out do one another by showing that they are the biggest non-conforming example of their conformed group. If it wasn't My Little Pony, it would have been something else. It is a bit like the goth wave of the 90's. You had your basic goth people and you also had the ones(retards) who claimed they really believed in vampires...and then the extreme ones who had to prove how 'different' they were by getting fang implants. Those people have no real attachment to My Little Pony...they just needed something. a20characterusername 1 My crappy games at MyCrappyGames.com Free copy of Save The Puppies and Kittens
