I'm starting to think it's just for attention like the earlier posters said. Edited March 7, 2014 by Deathmaker158
Otter
It's, uh, nice to belong to something, I guess? Can't deny it's cute. I still watch TMNT and few other Saturday morning cartoons and I think it's rad as f*ck, so I do think there's room for adults to enjoy cartoons. Aight, fair enough. I'm not doubting you. I just can't stand the negative stigma one gets from some people just for stating you're a brony. You know, over at fimfiction (big My Little Pony fan fiction site), I was really surprised at how harsh the community is. If you post a crappy story, you'll get ripped to shreds. It honestly makes gtaforums look like a cute land of cuddly bears and rainbows and debunks the rumors that all bronies are overly nice and tolerant. ten-a-penny

Yeah, like I was saying earlier, there are "normal" bronies who casually enjoy the show. It's just the obsessed fantards that give them a bad name. Shenmue18
I've actually been noticing Bronies are decreasing, not increasing. In 2011-2012 MLP was getting a crazy following but luckily, people have seemed to have finally calmed down with the whole "Friendship is Magic" craze. Stig
I still watch Spongebob, because Spongebob is funny as f*ck. As stated above though, it seems like most bronies (or the ones that get the most publicity) are borderline creepy. I understand enjoying a cartoons, but taking pictures of yourself naked and then editing in a character from the show and depicting have sex with them (I would not f*ck Sandy Cheeks) is borderline f*cked up. I know, not everyone does it, but A LOT still do and I honestly hate to point it out, but most of the people I've seen that do do this type of sh*t are handicapped, whether it be Autism, or some other type of mental illness. Like the guys that buy the MLP teddy bears and then take them to dinners in public places and pretending there their wives and sh*t. C'mon man. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=433CrvyDMEo Edit: And yea, we all know rule 34, but this is different. But I've said it a million times before and I'll say it again, those kind of people are a very small group in the fandom. Anyway, personally the reason I even watch this show was probably this scene: [Youtube] I'm sorry, but that made my stone cold heart burst. na89340qv0n34b09q340
As stated above though, it seems like most bronies (or the ones that get the most publicity) are borderline creepy. That's because they're the interesting ones. If you go to any popular brony forum none of them are posting about their new plush and its special modification, or discussing which artists do the best Applejack porn. The strangest thing you'll find on pony forums are roleplaying. Even on the 4chan's mlp board, where stuff like that should be off the walls if bronies were as perverted as some of you seem to think, sincere fetish threads look like they're about as common as they are on the comics/cartoon board and the Pokémon board (like 20% of the threads on any day, maximum). The average GTAForums user doesn't visit the Equestria forums or 4chan's mlp board. They do visit youtube though, where videos of the weird fans are uploaded and shared almost every day, and where the only people talking about ponies on videos that aren't fan videos for mlp (and why would you even click those anyway?) are unwelcome guests who are either spamming and trolling for your irritation or trying to defend the fandom from the guy who made a funny joke. 'course none of that matters; furries are weirdos, and I'm taking this too seriously. Edited March 7, 2014 by Joe Chip Flūttershy

Frank Brown
I don't see why making fun of Bronies is such a big deal. It's not like you're born with Bronyism coded into your DNA and we need to be sensitive towards it. It's weird. And you're weird if you watch it religiously. Also. Bronies will be blamed during the next economic crisis. If I am ever really in power, the destruction of the Bronies will be my first and most important job. As soon as I have power, I shall have gallows after gallows erected, for example, in Ponyville in Equestria-as many of them as traffic allows. - Vlynor 2016 Edited March 7, 2014 by Vlynor IVIechanomics

I came to a nice, satisfying conclusion, and I thought I'd share it with you all. Generally, if you have a lot of 'haters' it tends to be for a very good reason. It's always vocal minorities that cause issues for everyone else, just look at third wave Feminism and the current state of the Men's Rights movement, at their core they both have absolutely brilliant forward thinking ideas, but the loudest personalities always ruin it for everyone else by projecting their own personal insecurities onto all of their ideas (for those familiar I'd say Big Red is a shining example of what I'm talking about and if you don't know who she is I recommend keeping it that way). Bronies bother me a bunch, but in that same right two of the kindest most thoughtful people I know are bronies and very forward about it. Don't throw away the bag of apples because you happened to find the one with a worm. It's be a bit hard to understand an episode of Family Guy if you never left the house. Stig and Max
