Mud1221
Anyone else play like this? It feels like a whole new game
RedBull FM
I've played it in RDR, but didn't even like it. Never had a go at it in GTA though. PerfectBlade
Detective Phelps
I always play GTA the traditional way. Full display and soft-lock for me. ( Well, I don't use hard lock since I can accidentally kill the wrong guy. )
Vanto
Tried it once, just to see how it's the feeling. Didn't like it though... PerfectBlade, Detective Phelps and Luuk'
Mud1221
I wouldn't recommend playing missions this way since they're built to be played traditionally. But when I'm freeroaming I find I look at the map too much and I'm missing out on stuff around me StJimmy and epoxi
Yan2295
I recently started doing the story again, and I'm only using free aim this time. It brings a little more difficulty and fun to the game.
Hodgey.
I play with free aim but with the HUD on.

( Well, I don't use hard lock since I can accidentally kill the wrong guy. ) Ok. So that's how LSPD officers are such sharpshooters... And just to make it clear, your agents still manage to kill the wrong guys with soft lock. The Quench
I wouldn't recommend playing missions this way since they're built to be played traditionally. But when I'm freeroaming I find I look at the map too much and I'm missing out on stuff around me This is exactly how I feel. I think next time I play I'm going to try this and turn off the HUD. mastershake616
There's a middle ground if you want to play without the radar. You can set it so that it only shows blips, which is a huge help during missions. Whenever I decide to do another play through, that's the setting I'll be going with, along with free-aim. I found free-aim to be clunky when I first tried it, but maybe that can be remedied with altering the sensitivity setting. Mud1221
Another great thing about no HUD is you don't know you're wanted until cops show up Edited February 9, 2014 by dr.aqufresh
E•MO•TION
I never screw with the default settings.
autotheftgrand
I play just blips. Have done since I first got the game. If only you could turn the kill indicator off as well.
MonsterCockDude
Yes, basically turned off the hud and auto aim as soon as possible. Don't get how people can find it enjoyable to know exactly where their enemy is at almost all times, or to be able to just press a button and hold to automatically lock onto an enemy and shoot at him. Would be nice to turn off the regenerating health as well.
BLOOD
I did it before, and with how immersive it was,it scared the living sh*t out of me (no joking).
Fallcreek
You'd have to know the HD Los Santos like the back of your hand in order to complete the game with the HUD off lol.

If you turn the HUD off the radar still remains. Although you can also turn off the radar aswell as the HUD.
El Zodape
If it wasn't because it hides the health, armor and special bars, I would play that way. Edited February 10, 2014 by Zodape
Hodgey.
If it wasn't because it hides the health, armor and special bars, I would play that way. No it doesn't. The health bar etc only turns off if you choose to disable the radar.
mariana_dm1989
I cannot stand playing gta with anything other than free aim. Loft lock and hard lock ruin the immersion and don't really give you opportunities to enjoy intense gameplay.
ViceCityStalker
I prefer free aim but in V it was disapointing,MP3 free aim opens V`s dick trap and shoves it in their owning the sh*t out of it.That`s y I play traditional until they can bring something semi-decent to the table again as far as free aim gos. Argon
You'd have to know the HD Los Santos like the back of your hand in order to complete the game with the HUD off lol. Is there seriously still anyone out here who doesn't know LS by heart by now? After all these months you gotta know how to navigate almost blindly, right? If not, then I guess you have spent way too much time looking at the radar. If it wasn't because it hides the health, armor and special bars, I would play that way. Yeah this annoys me to. I like to disable the radar, because I've noticed I spent way too much time looking at the bottom corner of my screen (especially with the new semi-3D view). But not being able to see your health is annoying. I would really suggest to switch off the radar (at least to blips only) and start navigating by just looking at buildings and signs.
