Picture me Rollin
Endurance if two laps
+ - Great cp's though some could be pulled back a little at corners
- + 68cps for a lap race? Never seen that before,...
- Start/finish could be way better,... after a long straight? Cp 53 54 maybe?
- + On the whole really long straight the cp's are maybe a little too far,... Played it at night but in daylight they must be invisible.
+ + Been a while that with traffic on the race has more to it. Liked it.
- Cp 24 25 turn doesn't work that well imo as 25 is maybe too far in the turn?
- Boring picture too
- + Needs minor tweaking for approval

Hello mate, cheers for the feedback. 68 cp's is long, It was originally planned to be a completely different race and point to point but when I saw it getting close to the start line, I decided to make it a lap race. I do like a long race, nurburgring and grand tour are personal favourites! :) Its set to 1 lap now though. Made a few tweaks last night. Added CP on the long straight and tweaked others along there to make them a bit closer. Pulled a lot of CP's back at corners to make more visible. If i pull CP 25 back a bit the chevron will be pointing straight into the tree? I wasn't sure about that corner, it was challenging without props but after a few edits I felt this worked the best, open to suggestions on this one! Yep, picture is terrible, it was a bit rushed! Is there any easy way to change where the start/finish line is? It looks like when I move it I have to edit a lot, which I will do if needed as I completely agree it would be better placed elsewhere. Cheers for taking the time to review and I will have updated version ready a bit later :)

I had a spare hour or so this morning so I completely edited the race to move the start/finish line! Hopefully cp placement shouldn't have changed much except the changes incorporated from my previous post. Although whilst testing I noticed i do have a tendency to put cp's a little to much into corners! I have taken another picture but I wasn't happy with any so I will more than likely change again at some point ;) cheers

Well done to the newly verified peoples :) ....

Agree with 1 race submissions, that is for everyone bar me, I think I need my limit increasing to 10 ;)

Hi Guys,

http://socialclub.rockstargames.com/games/gtav/jobs/job/BzjzXOculU23nhJIdShJ3w?platformId=2

I know 40 bus jump is approved but took theCon's advice into consideration and gave it one more facelift.

Ive added 3 wide boosts now to allow for fairness for all players.
Ive also added a few more rockets at the end of the jump without obstructing the race or view also to allow for fairness to all players.
Ive also added a full line of rockets on the main straight too.

other than that, i cannot do much more without littering the track with pickups.

I will still be doing Military Heist v1 when i have time and will let you know when done.

Thanks.

I haven't played military heist yet, but I have something similar (I Think) would maybe help ? or at the very least you could help me ?

http://socialclub.rockstargames.com/games/gtav/jobs/job/_U_U51BHaE-_e3xB1Ywp9A?platformId=2

Still in test mode, but I think it may be good to go soon :)

Route 69

? Title doesn’t match what we get…. I appreciate the ‘joke’ but I can’t help thinking something more specific to your race would be better.

/ CP’s mostly ok, but some are really in the horizon (the one’s around bends are fine for me, as there is no other logical direction but to follow the road)

+ The course itself is ok, mostly wide roads that allow pack racing without too many forced collisions

- But going against flow of traffic just disturbs the flow of this race

/ Nothing memorable in this one – you havent used any props, maybe create some hazards ? (not neccessarily jumps…)

* More substance needed for an approval

Metal Mickey

+ Nice name /photo choice

+ Good route

/ Some good propping, but some I found unneccessary (tyre stacks placed before the crumple barriers ?) and the corner before rejoining the freeway from Peckerwood/Lower Vinewood could have more visual guidance – but I loved the finish line !

+ CP’s fine (I’ll give you a bye on placements re. the big freeway 180° !) but although fairly obvious, the 1st CP isn’t visible from the start line

* After some tidying up, this will be a good one !

Commuter Chaos (Short)

Can't judge my own creation! ;)

+1st CP isn’t visible from the start line

*

Thanks for the feedback. The tyre stacks are there to add visibility to the apex point of the corner. Red/white is much easier to see on an asphalt background at speed than a grey concrete barrier. Even the yellow/black of the crumple barrier is less visible.

I can't prop the corner at CP 26 as the same part of road is used in the opposing direction, and signs would be missed at that speed (also I have none left lmao - all my spare ones went into the finish line you so loved).

I don't see the issue with the first CP to be honest. First lap, well, its the first CP, it's indicated on the minimap as the race is setting up and counting down to start. On the second lap once you go through the start finish line it's only not visible for a nanosecond with the speed you have. That and the fact that it's on a straight road, with the following CP also on the same straight(ish) road makes me reluctant to adjust it.

Thanks for the approvals, guys. I learned a lot from your comments and feedback so I appreciate it.

Stronk, in regards to the CPs I think you're right, I'm not sure there's any more room to play there without making significant change to the track. I toyed with trying to remove a CP from the finish by removing the dip to the south and just going straight at the runway from the detour at CP 60/61 as I worked on it yesterday, but it didn't work without stretching some of them to such an extent that they were nearly invisible, and the terrain on the north side of that area is more flat and less interesting. I'll have another look, though.

Also, I'll look for some replacement for the construction fences. I normally prefer to race with traffic on, so to my mind if traffic is turned off it makes sense to have the side roads blocked off, otherwise I find it boring racing along empty streets. I used the construction fences because they stand out and are visible from a distance but I'll find an alternative.

Construction fences are gone, replaced with a mix of other props.

I wasn't able to find any way to maneuver the CPs to fill in the gaps you mentioned, so I think I'll leave them as they are rather than risk making something worse.

Thanks again to you and TheCon for all of your input!

2 Mile Lap: Entwined

Fun but horrible spawning.

= Unapproved.

I've fixed the spawns by using Stronks suggestion of moving the checkpoints over the dividing props rather than over the dividing concrete barrier. I've done this to the 6 cps before each jump. I've tested it and now the respawn is on the road rather than teetering on the barrier.

I've also studied the verified 2 Mile Lap Divided race and the respawns in that race are now dodgier than mine :)

Hope you can give it a replay when you find time. Thanks again.

Not on PS3 until tomorrow morning, so just a quick response/clarification :)

Ok, I get your (very valid) reasoning re. the tyre stacks - it just seems a shame that it uses a valuable prop allocation.

Ahh, I hate it when we reach the prop limit  50 just seems so arbitrary when it even shows underneath how much memory we're using and often its no where near THAT limit...

I mentioned the 1st CP as just a note really - yes it is in the minimap and yes, it is logical to expect it down the road and yes, 2nd lap it's fine... I just think the visual confirmation is preferable (if possible) Not a race breaker at all.

More thoughts later :)

I particularly want to congratulate Smitty on his verification. That race when you 1st submitted it.... sheesh.. took some work ;)

But hey, the last one of yours I reviewed here, Traction Control, was really good. It was easily the best race in the list we ran that time and needed no tweaking for my vote, you really got to grips with the creator.

Good races and deserved recognition, that man.

Thanks man, And hoping to add more races with them ;)

The Slick Track

? Why vehicle lock – Pigalle is a good pick, but why ? (Tell us in the description…)

- CP30 not near apex

- Prop placement (ALL tyre stacks can go) are not well placed (eg. The hairpin at CP30)

+/ CP’s generally good, but the ones on the uphill twisty bit are unneccesary and annoying.

+ All that being said, it’s a good challenging route, but one I would enjoy more with a choice of vehicles

* With a little more attention to the props, could be a favourite technical track of mine – not approved – yet !

Honestly thought that race has got taken out of review haha. But I switched it to the Pigalle simply to appeal to R* in hopes of getting it verified. Figures the one race I left as is, got verified anyways ;D. Of course I'll switch the vehicle lock back to normal and do some necessary adjustments right away.

But I should add that some of the props I use as visual guide, I put in the description that I use red and white tire lines as a way to indicate upcoming obstacles such as sharp turns, hills, or natural barriers. Which is why they're oddly placed :). But fixes are complete, let me know if it's more to your liking. http://socialclub.rockstargames.com/games/gtav/jobs/job/nTDGpuurcUqMpBSPmvdIGQ?platformId=2

BMX Melee

+- Good title, and description, but is it suppose to be a BMX only race? if so, you might want to make it that way and remove all the other vehicle choices.

+- Good track, all though I can't give it creativity points, because I cannot imagine that this hasn't been done at least 500 times But good nonetheless.

+- There should be a CP between 13 and 14, it is hard to see CP 14, and I had to look at my map to see where it was., other than that the CP's are fine.

- No vote, put an extra between 13 and 14, and I will approve.

BMX Melee

+ Good short track with good lenght
+ Really like the stunt jump
- Cp's need work imo
- Start+finish should be way better as cp1 is too close to the start. What about cp13 as start/finish?

- + Then cp15 is too far behind the turn? And cp22 can go imo.

- Confusing title? What is the link? Maybe make it more clear in your description?

+ + Work on the cp's and I approve

Im going to make adjustments to that straightaway where 13-14 are. Might put the Start/Finish over there as recommended to allow for 16 players. Never thought of it before. I will resubmit when finished. Thanks guys.

Interesting, I haven't changed any CPs since the last time you ran it. :dontgetit:

Just went back and ran it a couple times to make sure none of my experiments from the other night made it through: I updated the props, published, then went back and I was moving CPs around trying to get one or two in the spots you mentioned before, but I backed out of the creator and didn't update it after doing so.

Glad you liked the updated props, if you get extra time and want to run it again and let me know which CPs you think are off, by all means let me know.

Reviews:

☆ The World Cup Grand Prix

▪ Great track design and cp placement.

▪ Great prop placement.

▪ Very fluid.

○○ Approved.

☆ Motorcycles Kill

▪ Good title. Could have added more to the description.

▪ Would have preferred vehicles locked to motorcycles if that is what you are describing.

▪ CPs 6 and 7 should be rearranged so that it does not put the race line through the parking lot. The way it is now is not fluid at all.

▪ 1st massive jump on the freeway worked fine for me but the ramp placements are not seamless.

▪ Route at cp 31 is blocked because of the railings.

▪ 2nd massive jump on freeway after cp 37 does not work well and would be better off removed.

▪ Should have small ramps at cp 65.

▪ Rest of track was guided well and cps were good.

○○ Needs improvements.

☆ The Dirty Sanchez

▪ Good title and description.

▪ Good cp placement.

▪ Great prop placement.

▪ Track design could have been better. It just doesn't give me that wanna play it again track feeling. Mainly the last part that is on the second mountain. Just doesn't have a good fluid approach to it.

○○ Needs improvements.

☆ The Dirtier Sanchez

▪ Great title and description.

▪ Track design was a lot better than The Dirty Sanchez. Still didn't have a great replayable feeling.

▪ Ending was great.

▪ First half was too easy for a Sanchez race. Just gas and go, not much for technique.

○○ Needs improvements.

☆ Marlowe Vineyard

▪ Great title, description, cp and prop placement.

▪ Good track design.

○○ Approved.

☆ Downtown Cougar

▪ Great title and description.

▪ Good laps and length.

▪ Excellent cp and prop placement.

▪ Great track design.

○○ Approved.

Having network problems will get to reviews later.

Del Perro Split

- Move CP 4 and CP 5 slightly back.

+ Good everywhere else.

= Needs minor work.

It's done. I also changed my mind and placed two CPs where Stronktank suggested (CP 6-7), let me know if it's good now. Thanks for the fair review.

I've done a couple of reviews just for fun. Its up to you if you want to use them :)

~DEL PERRO SPLIT

+Good title, excellent description.

+Good CPs

+Good fast course

=APPROVED

~DUNE BUGGY DELUXE

+Nice tight, twisty track

+Good location

+Imaginative use of propping with the water ramps.

-Unnessecary CPs: 5,10,12,14,18,21,23 and 25 are all unneeded.

=NEEDS WORK (look at those CPs)

~SAN ANDREAS DAKAR

+Good title, love the description!

+Love this course

+Excellent vehicle choice

-CPs are good until you get onto the narrow mountain roads. I think more CPs could be added to better guide around some of the blind corners.

-Full contact on the narrow mountain tracks is a bit of nightmare. I can't even imagine 10 BF Injections jostling for position up there.

=APPROVED (but please consider my opinions on the mountain tracks. This has potential to be one of my personal favourites!)

~MILITARY HEIST V1

+Good title, excellent description.

+Good course

+Replay value

+Good use of ramps

+Love the finish

-needs a CP between 3 and 4

=APPROVED (personal favourite! I've done a couple of races through Zancudo, check them out. Does this race have a GTA version?)

~FURIOUS FUSION

+Love the title and description

+Good CPs

+Nice fast course

=APPROVED

~COLIN MCRAE RALLY

+Great photo

+Good CPs

-The course is a little slow especially for an unmodded Sultan. Half of the track is an uphill climb up an asphalt road which takes away from the rally feel.

=APPROVED

~SULTAN DIRT RALLY RACE

+Excellent location and scenery

+Good fast course (really feels like a rally)

+Good propping

+CPs ok

Thanks for the feedback, Flukey. Glad you like the race. :)

I've been meaning to set the non-contact option for awhile now but I always forget after I go through and make my other changes, so thanks for the reminder. I've set the default option to non-contact and updated the description slightly to mention this.

As for the CPs, I would love to add more CPs to that trail, but as I've used all 68 I'd have to take them from someplace else to be able to do so, and I'm struggling to think of where I can do that. I shuffled some props around to add some signage to those blind corners for now until I can figure it out. I may even remove this section altogether and just stick with the lower trail, but that significantly changes the race. Open to suggestions... :^:

☆ Hempstead Granule of Truth.

▪ Excellent title, description and setting.

▪ Very long, good for endurance races(4 minutes)

▪ Great fluidity and track design.

▪ Cps were excellent except for the first few up until 10 they were not visible well from the last ones but that is a minor issue.

○○ Approved but could be even better.

Adjusted the first few CPs and added one in to make them more visible. At 4 minutes(I've even finished it in 3:58 in a tuned Massacro, making it an excellent 4-minute challenge race), i wouldn't really consider it an endurance as a Point-to-Point(all 5 of my other approved races are 4minutes+, or longer and not considered "Enduro"). 4 minutes as a lap race, then yes, probably endurance. Anyway...

Glad you like it's flow and route! Thx for the review and vote.

Hempseed Granule of Truth

++ Title and Description

+ Propping

++ Vehicle Class

- CP - pull CP 18 back a little bit..

+ Replay = yes

= Approved, if CP 18 fixed.

CP 18 was past the apex, so I pulled it back and also adjusted the next CP to make it more visible too.

Glad you thought it had replay value, as well as liked it. Thank you for your time.

Once again, thanks for the 2 approval votes! Now that it is updated it can be added to the approval list, stronk.

Waiting for the nominations to open again, thanks much!

😈😢😨😱 REVIEWS FROM THE OTHER SIDE 😤😵😍😖

FYI: I count the starting line as the first check point.

☆ Del Perro Split

▪ Horrible title. For some strange reason I desire a banana split sundae. Joking about the horrible part it is a great title.

▪ Great description.

▪ Good cp and prop placement and track design.

○○ Approved 💀

☆ Dune Buggy Deluxe

▪ Good title and description. However, the description is juvenile at best.

▪ Bale of hay at the beginning blocks the driver at the start line.

▪ Most cps were placed to early and would be more effective if moved up a tad.

▪ Jump over the pond is blocked at the landing pad by a telephone pole and the electrical tower.

○○ Needs improvements 😢

☆ San Andreas Dakar

▪ Excellent title, description and setting.

▪ Well thought out track design.

▪ Great cp placement.

▪ Very technical course and long. Perfect for a endurance race.

○○ Approved 😜

☆ Military Heist v1.

▪ Great title.

▪ Fun use of other ip's in the description. Very creative and interesting.

▪ Cp 5(by the big rock) was too far past the turn and could not be seen.

▪ Jumps into and out of the base were placed well.

▪ Jump onto the freeway would be better if double wide.

▪ Next jump on the freeway on the right drastically slows down the Turismo. They also do not add to the race.

▪ The small small jumps are not needed and don't add anything to the race.

▪ Last 2 big jumps were excellent.

▪ Rest of cps and props were great.

▪ Excellent track design.

▪ Would be better imo if this race was made into a motorcycle only race.

○○ Needs improvements (I do like this race though) 😢

☆ Furious Fusion

▪ Perfect title and description. You have captured my heart with it. Track better be as technical as you say it is. Highly technical motorcycle races are my vice.

▪ Great track design and cp placement.

▪ Props at cp 26 are too far ahead of the turn into the alley and should be moved back to the point were you can adjoin them seemlessly to the wall.

▪ Not as technical as you made it out to be but still fun

○○ Fix the props where I mentioned and it is approved by me. 😉

☆ Colin McRae Rally

▪ Excellent title and description.

▪ Track design was good but some of the cps were not placed well. Cp 4 was too early, 17 too far ahead, 19 too far ahead, 20 too early, 26 and 27 were not very fluid, 37 too early.

▪ Some of the lined barriers have protruding edges.

○○ Needs improvement 😴

Thanks for the feedback on Furious Fusion. I have made adjustments to the props you mentioned, it should be a lot better now. :)

Removed (two needs work votes, one yes vote)

Dune Buggy Deluxe

(three needs work votes)

Military Heist...

The list is shrinking but still takes too long imo. Can't wait to re-open the nominations again, but will only do so if the list has been cleared.

Awesome! Thanks everyone! :)

Stronk, if I could make a suggestion: in addition to the one submission rule, might be worth setting a cap on how many total submissions to have going at one time. Once the nominations list reaches say 25, or whatever number you're comfortable with, shut it down again until you all can catch up.

If you're interested, I can do some reviews over the holiday weekend and help get the current list cleared. I'll PM you later this week.
