Thanks Con, I'm working on the Spawns in Entwined. I'll wait for a third opinion on Loopy Fiasco. I know a lot of people tend to overshoot in places on the first lap especially the few places without a barrier. I think the second lap is more fun after the lessons learned from the first.

for hardcore racing purists, you think your good? try this, PEGASSI POWER 3 PRO EDITION, PS3 ONLY..

 

only myself(weggywoo), deathrow thakka & nnema can get a lap under 3 minutes,

 

this is very hard and doesnt take any prisoners, you have to drive hard and aggressive to keep up your speed to get at least a 3.05 lap.(supercar of your choice)

San Andreas Dakar

+++ F'ing Awesome!

+++ Excellent Vehicle Choice and locking.

+++ Excellent Propping.

++ Great CPing except 33 & 35(?).

- Move 33 forward a little bit.

- Relook at checkpoint placement at CP35 turn (where the CP is up around the turn, I would break into two CPs).

= Needs minor work. (* personal favorite if approved).

Dune Buggy Deluxe

++ Excellent Vehicle Choice

--- except you have unlocked Biftas that allow all custom offroads to be opened, which causes people who know better to inexplicably choose anything but a dune buggy or bifta.

- CPs are before the Apex but it seems intentional to allow the dune buggy to grip the dirt in the turn, which is pretty cool.

= Approved, if the intent was for the buggies to grab the inside of the turns. If they are supposed to stick to the roads, then needs work.

 

Maze Bank 100

- Description says :25 laps?

--- Too many CPs. Please read OP on checkpoint placement.

- CPs not on apex of corners. Please read OP on checkpoint placement.

- Propping too close on cornering. I would extend the corners. Anybody is going to lose concentration after ten minutes. (Not Necessary for approval)

=Unapproved. Needs work.

 

Del Perro Split

- Move CP 4 and CP 5 slightly back.

+ Good everywhere else.

= Needs minor work.

 

Military Heist v.1

+++ Excellent Description

+++ Excellent track.

++ Great Propping

--- Better signage into the base needed. I knew where to go, but many won't.

--- 1st big ramp, crashed into right side. Custom Zentorno with stock suspension. It happens.

= Needs work on getting people into the base.

 

40 Bus Jump

+ It works.

+ Technically sound.

- I didn't count the weapons, but if you are using less than 50, then you should spread out the boosts 3 wide. If more than 2 people are racing, everyone behind 1 and 2 are getting screwed, but they land flatly on the buses and can drive smoothly over, which is why I am approving.

= Approved, as is.

- CPs -- 16/17, if the point is to cut the corner short and drive over that little bit of hill, then it works. If the point is to make the turn at the corner, it doesn't.

CP 16/17 is set so that you cut the corner, just to give the race a little twist.

I'll take a look at the CP's you mentioned, but I'm already tapped out at 68 so I'll have to 86 one elsewhere to add to that spot, and off the top of my head I'm not sure where to do that. I moved that CP after stronk's initial review as I had mistaken it for a different CP in his comments, I may pull it back closer to its original location and prop that section up so it's clear to follow the trail around the corner.

 

I'll figure something out and repost it later tonight.

Thanks, ill work on getting into the base, yeah i use Zentorno and have the odd stop dead on ramps lol, ive learnt to tap off gas a bit then i have no problems (just a tip for everyone out there experiencing this).

cool, i realised this after playing with 10 players, i know the race is approved but i want perfection, ill add a few more boosts WIDE to ensure all have fair chance.

 

Really appreciate it guys, without your advice my races wouldnt be as fun as they are, great advice.

Fantastic work TheCon! Some reruns are coming up tonight too.

Hopefully GMB or GR get to do some more so we can finally re-open the nominations again. Thanks for helping out man.

San Andreas Dakar has been updated, if that's a problem I will resubmit it when the nominations are opened again.

 

I managed to stretch the CPs in the section after making the hard right hander going around Ft Zancudo, and got my extra CP I needed to fill in the gap in the section TheCon mentioned in his review. Tweaked a few other CP placements as well.

REVISITED
+ Became fantastic cp placement for a 68 cp race,... Though cp 36 -37 and 63-64 could use one more cp, but moving things up will ruin it I guess.
+ Much better tyre stack propping and bale propping but all construction fences can still go imo. Though the ones you find necessary maybe change with bales??
+ As said before good finish, good race
+ + + Approved but (again) have a look at those props and cp's
+ - Good track but cp's still need a lot of work. And as I do like the track I went through all the cp's: cp 1 can definately go,... Cp 2 can be more in the apex, cp 4 can be removed and 5 pulled back a little bit so you can see it better, cp 6 can go, pull cp 20 back a little bit (to the left) can't see it (a few like that before this one too), cp 21 should be in the turn and cp 24 placed right before the bridge. Then move cp 25 up in the next corner and 26/27 can be one cp right in the middle of the turn. Cp 31 can go and maybe pull cp 34 back a little. Cp 37 can go and maybe shift a little with the cp's at 42 43 44 45 (one of them can definately go), maybe pull cp 53 and 54 back just a little bit so it's more visible.
+ - Ok race though, but looking through my notes, cp's still need a lot of work.
Will rerun this only once more after you updated though. Hopefully the other judges only run it after that!
- + You do warn for the tunnel chicane but once you are there there is no clear propped warning, and the chicane going out doesn't work imo. It's a good fluent track, but that part quite ruins it for me, so why not just leave it out and go right right before it? Or if you want to keep it in, maybe use the props you used when going out to guide going in (a nice tyre line bow on the right (not blocking when you come back out and taking the left lane). And then when going out just go right directly (that would form the same turn as the self-made chicane you made).
- + cp 45/46 can be one cp
+ + For the rest fantastic cp placement
- + Not sure about the cps 28+29 maybe one cp would warn the chicane better?
- + Also found some of the cp's too far in the turn. Didn't note which ones though
+ Great start+finish too
+ Little tweaking and something done about that the whole tunnel part and it gets my vote!

Sandking Junction

- For some reason was able to play this with my custom sanchez?

+ + Great track. And maybe just get rid of the water jumps imo? Or just place one and more to the left?

+ + Cp's are way better.

+ + Actually loved this with my sanchez. Though the one propped blocker didn't work easily at cp 22 but pulled my front up second lap and worked fine. How about not making this sandking only? And suggesting it is great with sandkings as I love it as an offroad track actuallly.

+ Loved that big selfmade jump (cp 15) with a great backflip there and even the water ramps (left one) as you can go all through the water with a sanchez too.

+ + Great start+finish

Will have a rerun with the sandking though. Probably gets my vote anyway!

 

Military Heist
- + Needs one more cp between 3 and 4
- Was prop blocked (halfway the jump) at the left jump at cp 15
- Would leave the part going to the gas station out. It's a useless detour imo.
- + 21 22 the stunt jump can go imo. Ramps are ok though
+ 27 - 41 feels great and much better feels like escape route
- + Pull back cp 39
- Police really like the jump after cp 40 terrible roadblock there. Maybe block the road to the left of the ramp? As they seem to keep coming from that direction.
- + Pull back cp 50
? Why start so early in front of the military base? You can use those cp's for your escape route imo
+ + Rest of the cp's are way better though
- Finish isn't better either imo. Just flew over the finish line. Loved the stunt jump there though. The stunt jump works perfectly if you respawn but it doesn't if you are in full speed coming from the previous cp. So maybe find a better spot for the last cp right before the finish?
+ + It's again much better than before but still needs a lot of work imo. Only going to rerun this once more.

By the way, judges and retired judges: Was thinking about maybe changing the nomination limit to one race. As it would get approved or disapproved much faster and the list wouldn't become that big in such a short time,... Thoughts?

Some reviews - I'm not an official judge until someone else says so, but I thought I would look at the older nominations after messaging Stronktank... so...

 

Death Proof

 

+/ Not watched the film, but I take it the locked vehicle choice is part of the homage - but the ‘tight sections’ (yard / docks) with such an unwieldy car may cause more frustation than fun? (don`t get me wrong, love the Sabre Turbo)

+ Nice use of the location / environment

+ / Good CP’s except the ones pointing at the ‘tight sections’ - cp6 is a turn on full gas , most will overshoot/smash the entrance and cp24 appears late

? Could the 1st CP be at the top of the natural ramp ?

/ concrete block prop near the end steers you to the water = evil ! ;)

 

* One for people not afraid of muscle cars and that know how to use brakes. For me, a little tweaking and it will be approved !

 

Run Rabbit Run

 

/ I understand the title but it doesn’t work somehow… maybe something simpler like ‘Rabbit Run’ would be a little snappier

- The 180°s / highway blocks cause ugly glitches

- Didn’t like the ‘wrong side of the road’ each time it happened (bad CP signposting)

- Numerous CP’s are too far from each other or are in unexpected places

- Nightmare highway slip roads – even with no other racer it’s too easy to go flying off when using sports /supers

 

* Not approved, more work on props/CP’s/route required

 

The Slick Track

 

? Why vehicle lock – Pigalle is a good pick, but why ? (Tell us in the description…)

- CP30 not near apex

- Prop placement (ALL tyre stacks can go) are not well placed (eg. The hairpin at CP30)

+/ CP’s generally good, but the ones on the uphill twisty bit are unneccesary and annoying.

+ All that being said, it’s a good challenging route, but one I would enjoy more with a choice of vehicles

 

* With a little more attention to the props, could be a favourite technical track of mine – not approved – yet !

Thanks for the approvals, guys. I learned a lot from your comments and feedback so I appreciate it. :cool:

 

Stronk, in regards to the CPs I think you're right, I'm not sure there's any more room to play there without making significant change to the track. I toyed with trying to remove a CP from the finish by removing the dip to the south and just going straight at the runway from the detour at CP 60/61 as I worked on it yesterday, but it didn't work without stretching some of them to such an extent that they were nearly invisible, and the terrain on the north side of that area is more flat and less interesting. I'll have another look, though.

 

Also, I'll look for some replacement for the construction fences. I normally prefer to race with traffic on, so to my mind if traffic is turned off it makes sense to have the side roads blocked off, otherwise I find it boring racing along empty streets. I used the construction fences because they stand out and are visible from a distance but I'll find an alternative.

MASHED:

- Checkpoint at the beginning removed, and the turning is a lot more smoother.

- CP4 has been removed as suggested, and CP5 (now CP3) has been pulled back.

- Some of the other checkpoints have been moved back also so they are more visible.

- CP21 (now CP18) should flow a lot better when you turn now. At least it seemed to when I was testing. I’m hoping not seeing it won’t be a problem. There’s not really a way to work around it. It should be obvious you turn there though.

- I’ve shifted around with the CP’s after CP 24 (Now CP21) They should be better now.

- CP37 is gone.

- Removed CP42 and pulled forward CP41 (Now CP35) a little.

- Pulled CP53 (Now 46) and 54 (Now 47) back a little so they’re more visible like suggested.


Hopefully it’s a lot better now, but let me know if not, I’m always looking for ways to improve. :)

Also going to remove my DeathProof race as it has two 'needs work' votes and one yes vote. Will submit something better as soon as the nominations are opened again. Will have a look at the notes you made and edit where seems fit. Thanks.

If all the creators want to talk amongst themselves over creations in this thread make a new topic and use that to discuss between yourselves not keep a topic open with a misleading title as not everyone will always read the opening message when it's 37 pages long. Your kidding yourself if you think your going to stop people posting here with a title like that and that is just common sense.

Where but the OP do you think we should be more specific? In the last post? Common man, that aint common sense. Just check out the OP and please adjust your post.

I truly hope nominations will reopen soon, just be patient. And maybe some good advice on visiting fora: ALWAYS read the OP.

Hello mate, cheers for the feedback. 68 cp's is long, It was originally planned to be a completely different race and point to point but when I saw it getting close to the start line, I decided to make it a lap race. I do like a long race, nurburgring and grand tour are personal favourites! :) Its set to 1 lap now though. Made a few tweaks last night. Added CP on the long straight and tweaked others along there to make them a bit closer. Pulled a lot of CP's back at corners to make more visible. If i pull CP 25 back a bit the chevron will be pointing straight into the tree? I wasn't sure about that corner, it was challenging without props but after a few edits I felt this worked the best, open to suggestions on this one! Yep, picture is terrible, it was a bit rushed! Is there any easy way to change where the start/finish line is? It looks like when I move it I have to edit a lot, which I will do if needed as I completely agree it would be better placed elsewhere. Cheers for taking the time to review and I will have updated version ready a bit later :)

I particularly want to congratulate Smitty on his verification. That race when you 1st submitted it.... sheesh.. took some work ;)

But hey, the last one of yours I reviewed here, Traction Control, was really good. It was easily the best race in the list we ran that time and needed no tweaking for my vote, you really got to grips with the creator.

Good races and deserved recognition, that man.

I know 40 bus jump is approved but took theCon's advice into consideration and gave it one more facelift.

Ive added 3 wide boosts now to allow for fairness for all players.
Ive also added a few more rockets at the end of the jump without obstructing the race or view also to allow for fairness to all players.
Ive also added a full line of rockets on the main straight too.

other than that, i cannot do much more without littering the track with pickups.

I will still be doing Military Heist v1 when i have time and will let you know when done.
