I actually think that's a great idea Con, using CP 32 location for first traverse of the hairpin. I'll see what I can do with regards to sorting out the triple arrow for second traverse. Thanks for the review dude!

So I've re-ran most of the reposted nominations together with Flukey, who also gave some good feedback by messaging me. Not the fastest messaging system on psn, so that's why I never answered. Anyway, Flukey aren't you interested in doing some reviews? As we really need some new judges. Trumpetblast will also be coming up with some reviews soon I hope.

 

 

+ Way better than before!
- The jump at the finish (inside the jump) obstructs the flow. Finish is better than before but still could be better imo,...
- + Still had problems with swarms of cops blocking the jumps but the one i got stuck at last time was way better. And as most of them are double jumps the issue got better.
+ Much better as a totality, but still needs minor tweaking
+ - Like the stunt jumps exept the very low stunt jump in the middle of the street is unnecessary imo (cp 44/45)
+ Good you left the part on the sand out.
- + The cp's were good but there was some hesitation when you go out of the sewer bridge and climb the mountain. Can't you place a jump there to get onto the road? Or make the cp placement there more fluent? As now you can't see the cp on the hill too well.
+ Really close to approval. Will have one more run though.
+ Waay better, no more troll race
+ Great cp's
+ Great pickup placement
+ Great lenght, though could even be turned up to 5 laps as I never made the jump,...
- + Though liked the zigzag towards it, now it's just the bus jump which is also good.
? Did you think about rockets? Doesn't have to but as it's a gta race anyway and the laps are really short it might add something to it. Not sure though,...

40 bus jump drag:

 

Ok i have tweaked 40 bus jump and think it should be perfect, played it a few times last night and really enjoyed it now compared to the original mess around track it was, its starting to become a favourite of mine now, ive made it 5 laps and because of the proposed 5 laps i decided to place 5 rockets at the end of the 40 busses and also another 5 as you start the main straight to the last checkpoint, way more fun. take a re-run at it if you like and advise if anything is not quite right.

 

Military Heist v1:

 

ok i have now also tweaked this one, i think its pretty cool, ive added a little detour just after the bridge you ramp onto after leaving the Base, the mountain side of things i had no chance of placing ramps to get onto the road so changed that whole scene, you now drive right up the mountain to eventually hit the road instead of going left and making a u-turn. ive tweaked the ramps a little with curved ramps as the last ramp on stacked ramps to give more air to the jumps so the house that must be cleared from the mountain to me seems much much easier, i clear it very easily, that little ramp in the middle of the road has been deleted and ive added 2 more ramps that work very well on that long stretch of road, unfortunately there are no cops in testing so i cant experience the race as it should be but all seems good, i also tweaked the last ramp at the finish with a curved ramp for more air, i am a little worried how this will work with our modded cars as testing only gives you a stock car but i will check this out now with friends. if need be i will revert back to normal as i think modded cars might go over the finish line checkpoint.

 

take a re-run if you like and advise if there are problems.

It's been a long time, haven't made many races, but I've got a couple I enjoy quite a bit.

Pretty sure these are both set to compact cars but anything goes. Links are screwy because Social Club is screwy for me at the moment.

 

Four-leaf Clover

12 right turns and no left turns, forming a large almost Celtic-looking course reminiscent of a four-leaf clover.

 

Mountainside Grand Prix

A rolling course along the side of the mountain, works well without traffic but is interesting with it as well.

Class: Sedans (Glendale Recommended)

Description: Solomon Richards has banned you from you ever entering the studios again. Drive through them, and get to Grove street asap!

A race from Vespucci pier, through the RM studios, the bank and to Grove street.

1 -14 players.

2.43 miles.

Playlist #5 was great. Might use it as a regular.

 

Broke Bridge Mountain -- Perfect except for that d*mned rock after the bridge. Approved.

* - Personal Favorite (please talk to R* about the f$%ing rock.)

 

 

 

I could always put a tyre in front of for visability ? although this won't stop your Car hitting the rock lol once you have done 1 lap you should remember this natural obstacle or if your lucky enough the driver in front has hit it and put it off course !

@Nitty -- No, I was just kidding. When I ran the race by myself I had no problems. It is only when I run it with you lot that the damn thing reaches out and grabs me and puts me in last place. I would not change anything.

So I just made a race for the hipster contest, I'm not expecting you guys to check it out, but I would be increadibly appreciative if anybody took the time and came up with some feedback! I'll paste a link to the race below.

 

The race itself is based around the Redwood track, but since there already is a race there I chose to spice things up! It's locked to the Warrener (Sedans) in an attempt to mimic a swedish "folkrace" (hence the name). One of the tracks I'm most proud of!

--- Setup - Why clear if you want rain?

--- Description - I don't remember anything in the description about smashing the Tire stacked flag.

--- Description - I would rewrite the description to explain the "minigame" of playing golf with Sandkings. The idea got lost in the rain/no rain and long description.

--- Vehicles - Why not lock to Sandking? Just choose one vehicle per class.

??? Sorry, I wrote down "1 lap". If it is more than 1 lap, then I recommend just 1.

? - Thoughts after the race - Is the Golf cart an option? Why no broken bridge jump?

+++ Good fun

= Approved. The race is laid out very well, but it would be so much more fun with a better locked in setup and description.

 

Maze Bank GP

Marlowe Vineyard

+ Good across the board.

You land in the water before the obstacle then you don't have enough speed to clear the right hand side of the obstacle. You can "jump" the left hand side 70% of the time, but that right hand side is a brick wall 90% of the time.

+++ Excellent Prop Bomb @ CP24

+++ Excellent use of the train!!!

+ Replay = yes.

= No vote. Slamming into the obstacle at 14 after the water ramp sucked the fun out of the race for me. If I see something directly in my path in a Sandking race, I want to climb it. I saw the race as a beginners' fast Sandking race. If 7 out of 10 racers can't make the obstacle on the 1st go in an easy race, then I can't approve it. If 7 out of 10 can't make any of the obstacles in an expert race that is another story. Please let me know if I am missing something.

 

Downtown Cougar

+ Good across the board.

= Approved.

 

Zancudo Ring

+ Good CPs.

+ Ok overall props.

-- Needs props at CP9 bridge.

-- Needs props at CP13 turn.

- + Cp5 could be a little further on the road imo and cp18 still not visible from the previous? Maybe place one more cp between them, or move it more to the left?
+ Turn at cp11 feels much better and cp's are also placed better there

- Maybe replace trigger as the cars are half over the street border

+ Good title and description
+ Good lenght
- Overpropping at cp5 imo it's disturbing
- + Maybe place cp10 further or more to the left so it goes from one arrow to two. And cp18 a little to the left as it takes too long to see it.
+ Great race though!

Thanks for Feedback. I changed some CPs and other stuff

 

  • CP 5 got more to the road and is more visible now
  • CP 17 more to the left, visible earlier now
  • some other CPs got slightly reworked, mostly set a bit before the apex instead of at the apex
  • At CP 19 (into the tunnel) I made a barrel-wall at the outside, to make it easier to see where you have to go
  • Trigger got replaced to a small nearby Parking lot

"Overpropping" at CP5 still there :p

The water ramp is completely optional. The metal obstacle at the end of the water isn't meant to go over, but rather around. I thought I'd put the ramp in the water, just for fun, or make it quicker to go through the water..

+++ CP24 Obstacle (I am copying the haybale idea), and prop bomb.

:( I didn't get the train in this run.

+ CP14 ramp and obstacle - the 6x6 lands on the obstacle. Yes, with the Sandking, it works as an optional obstacle with the three (3) ramps and the second lap to choose a different path.

= Approved.


Maze Bank GP

+ CPs are fixed.

- I would put a blue barrier at CP22 at the entrance to the arena, coming over the hill you can fly into the entrance and miss the turn.

= Approved, as laid out.

- + Had only a few disgardable notes: Cp7 might need two cp's as it seems as it's past the first corner, doesn't feel right as now you can't go wide? Cp 26 could be a little moved back? Or is it to take the second lane?

I'm not sure I want to change that, sorry.

Cp7 initially had two CPs but most testers asked me to only put one instead, to make the track feel more competitive. I discussed with them about changing it back earlier and they all disagreed so I'll follow their advice since after all, they're the ones who frequently play on my track. As for cp 26, yes, it's to take the second lane. ;) Now if another judge thinks the same as you, I'll reconsider it.

 

Anyway thanks a lot for the fair review. :)

--- Needs another checkpoint between 33 and 34 to show where to go? The race is great except I suddenly didn't know where to go.

Tractor Disaster

+ Title, but where is the "disaster"?

+ Description

+ CPs.

--- Props, too slow for uphill ramps and the downhill ramps are ok (needed steeper downhill), but a general lack of propping (no wrecked cars, no hale bales, no rib line of sleepers)

---- Track. (no tipping turns, no creek drops, no steep downhills, no race through the barn)

= Unapproved.

Review = I was totally psyched for this race! TRACTOR RACE! It had so many possibilities. I am sure you will get approval from two other judges, especially if they run it against someone else, because who doesn't love a good tractor race? and it is a "good" tractor race, but, I am giving my NO vote to say I was looking for a great tractor race.

-- Propping. The angled blue barriers do more harm than good. I would straighten them up.

-- Propping. There are several other critical turns that are missing the blue barriers.
