Whats the best Assault Rifle?

I think it's the advanced rifle but it's not entirely clear, read back a few pages. It's a little difficult to see what effect the grip has, which is available for the carbine but not for the advanced rifle.

Great info! I "decoded" this into a spreadsheet, here are some highlights:

Edit: Added Beach bum SNS Pistol

Oh that explains why the Assault SMG sucks, IT only does 3 in damage :panic:

If Advanced is more accurate than the Carbine, why all the sites and the game says the opposite? And on the boards here the Sniper Rifle says that it has a damage of 101 which is not. Also, heavy sniper damage 216?If you shoot someone on the legs he will not die.

What about the Special Carbine? Is it better than the Advanced Rifle?

Special Carbine = Carbine. ( stat-wise)

So no.

ROF wins.

Is the Heavy Pistol worth using at all for anything?

Is it better than the .50 Pistol (Desert Eagle)?

I tried the heavy pistol on NPC's only. Unless you get a head shot it's not a one shot kill even from fairly close range, so I'm sticking with the AP.

Also I'm just not into guns that have all skins immediately unlocked.

That means advanced rifle is more accurate. Lower value = higher accuaracy.

No, look at for instance the micro SMG vs the advanced rifle.

Micro SMG:

<AccuracySpread value="4.000000" />

Advanced Rifle:

<AccuracySpread value="2.500000" />

We can both agree the advanced rifle is more accurate, no?

Higher value is lower accuracy. It says accuracy spread, meaning how much the bullets spread, so a higher number means a larger bullet spread, i.e. lower accuracy.

ok ..

well carbine with grip can be more accurate .

<AccuracyModifier type="CWeaponAccuracyModifier"><AccuracyModifier value="1.100000" /></AccuracyModifier>

Carbine + Grip = 1.900000

If it means you have to substract 1.1, then yes.

Is there anyway to test or find out for sure exactly what the grip does?

The most practical way would be to run the same shooting range stage or gang attack before and after fitting the grip. That way, you can see and feel what impact it would have on your shooting.

Well I can confirm on the combat mg it makes a huge difference. I know because I just hit 85 on my second character. And I had to run it without grip until I unlocked it. Lots of rooftop rumble and coveted. Also against other players.

Anyone up for testing?

I'd like to know if 1.1 means you subtract 1.1.

After doing several wall spread tests the carbines were identical to each other and considerably more accurate then the advanced. This was with all attachments equipped. Tested at several ranges all the same

Ok I did some testing. Here's a shocker.

0_0.jpg

This is very interesting, Combat MG on the Left, Carbine in the middle and Advanced Rifle on the right.

Test was. 20 round burst from about 30 feet away zoomed in with all attachments equipped except suppressor and flashlight.

Test done inside the mall garage across the street from LSC. Good spot to test weapons as cops rarely ever go there for gunfire.

If anyone else would like to do some testing with me as well or would like to witness these results let me know.

Is there anything in the files regarding damage dropping over distance?

Right now i can't see any reason to use anything other than the AP Pistol as my primary weapon.

If there is no damage drop over distance and considering both guns hit with the same % of accuracy in this hypothetical, it would take the AP Pistol 0.28 seconds to kill with 4 shots at 0.07 seconds apart, while the Advanced Rifle would kill in three shots at 0.12 seconds apart giving it a total time of 0.36 seconds.

Ap pistol takes 5 shots at point blank tested in games. It does seem like at longer ranges it takes more shots than usual. Hence why I use the combat mg.

What level was the player you tested on? I'm asking because my calculation was based on a base HP of 100. As your level raises so does your HP, 5 shots would mean a HP of 113-140.

97. Is it possible there are limb multipliers?

There are, look at the files. Shoot the chest for testing.

OK gotcha. The time to kill is different depending on the players rank. I think strength effects it as well
