But how does those 2 extra damage points effect players over rank 100 with all the damage modifiers and such in the game?

Does it really matter?

Also has anyone tested the assault rifles with suppressors yet?

I did some research to find out the maximum health for players and it's 328.

I can't confirm it because I didn't test it in-game (Testing by calling the function to get my health when it's maximized).

However native "SET_PED_MAX_HEALTH" maximum value is 328 and I found coding in freemode script related to your player health and the maximum value is 328.

Anyway now we know the maximum health let's do some math.

32 * 10 = 320

34 * 10 = 340

You can kill players over rank 100 within 10 shots using the advanced rifle and that's if they don't have full armor meanwhile you will need 11 shots to kill someone over rank 100 using the special carbine.

378 is your health + full armor.

Both rifles won't kill someone over rank 100 + full armor within 11 shots.

I didn't try it so I might be wrong.

That's not counting the different body part multipliers

Special Carbine can shoot 11 bullets in the time the Advanced Rifle fires off 10, and is more accurate about it on average especially at longer distances. Looks like spec carbine still wins but I guess it doesn't matter real much on a console or auto aim lobby on PC. Unless you're good at free aiming with a controller, since the lock-on distances for assault rifles is only 65 metres even though they still deal damage up to 120. For the record an assault rifle at max lock-on range does 78.125% damage.

When playing GTA Online all bodypart multipliers are x0.8 except the heavy sniper that does x0.25 and snowballs do x1. In singleplayer the pump action shotty is really good on bodyparts giving x1 instead of the default x0.5 and nothing else is different really.

Also you may only get 50 points of armor but I do believe <LightlyArmouredDamageModifier value="0.750000" /> kicks in. Every weapon in the game has this entry and I think it reduces damage by 25% whenever a target has armor left so on a heavy sniper (216 damage * 1.39 PvP damage bonus) it can make a big difference reducing the 300 damage on a chest hit to 225 meaning you can almost take 2 shots if you put on a fresh armor afterwards.

Have you tested this online yet? Also please test both with suppressor and without please.

Haven't done any damage testing on armor or suppressors yet there's nobody online that can help me with this atm. Need to confirm melee weapon damage aswell they all seem to do 75 damage and since I've never actually done any real melee combat I don't know if this is true perhaps even obvious or if there's a multiplier somewhere.

Suppressors don't affect anything apart from the sound.

They reduce range and damage,if they didnt there would not be a point to them

Wrong.

Important Information:

  • Suppressors do NOT decrease a weapons damage or range under any circumstances, there is no reason not to use a suppressor on your weapon.

Oh really well unlike you who tries to be smart by posting a link,i have actually tested this in the field, and it does in fact effect the range and damage. How many players have you killed?Certainly not more then me so im pretty sure i have more experience on the matter lol

Your field testing is purely anecdotal.

The information from the games files does not change depending on individual. What am I supposed to do other than post details relating to my accurate comment by providing links - where's your evidence based report?

I've done testing and the suppressors don't do anything. No damage or range reduction, just sounds and less cops.

The game files...?

You should read the original post of both threads, this one and the one I linked to.

Game files are false sometimes

Sometimes - what does that mean? How can the files that drive the game be wrong?

I agree, perfect example of suppressor damage reduction would be the marksman rifle. To me seem to take more shots to drop a target in comparison to not having it.

I would relay more on what you see in the Field then to relay on some persons apparent tests

As in the special carbine rate of fire being higher than the advanced when the files suggest otherwise

It's to do with the animations?

Look at this post: http://gtaforums.com/topic/681401-weapons-information-by-game-files/page-9?do=findComment&comment=1067462199

Changing the animation timings can affect rate of fire. GTA3, Vice City and San Andreas all had editable weapon.dat files and changing the animation values had an effect on the weapons rate of fire.

If that were the case then the bullpup would be even faster because it has the same animation multiplier.

Correct me if I'm mistaken then

It's not to do with the multiplier.

It's to do with the animation start, animation end and animation fire timings. Check out my very old post here: http://gtaforums.com/topic/291697-weapon-rate-of-fire/?p=4490430

Edited with the note, the above was for GTA San Andreas, but can't see why the principle would be any different with GTA V.

That's gta4 though, different engine. It may be the same but I understand your theory, I just can't prove it

It's not same.

The bullpup rifle animation rate is 1.04 and special carbine is 1.08

The bullpup rifle have the same stats for advanced rifle.

However the advanced rifle animation rate is 1.00 and 1.04 for bullpup rifle.

Yeah it's either a mistake by R* or they want the DLC weapons to be better.

So, with all the news answers, I think everything is clear to me :

- Play auto aim mode ? Go for a suppressed Advanced Rifle

- Play free aim mode ? Go for a suppressed Special Carbine

C'mon everyone agreed about this, only effects the Marksman Rifle

Negative, I've tested the ap pistol against vehicles with and without it and without the suppressor it did more damage.
