so my unanswered question prior...

what is the difference with "GTA traditional"?

i have it set to that... but there is also free-aim and assisted which i understand what they do...

GTA Traditional = Hard lock, will follow enemy

Assisted Aim = Soft lock, will lose lock if enemy moves around

Free Aim = No lock, people seem to think it grows their penis

I switched to free aim and I like it much better. For starters you're far less likely to get kill shotted by noobs while driving reasonably quick in your car. Who honestly enjoys that? Being auto-locked all the time like that especially in high speed scenarios.

It definitely seems to be safer to use other cars in my garage besides the Entity and other similarly "back-end" armored cars.

There's some seriously skilled potshots in free aim so I tread lightly still.

Ultimately I find the gun fights to be better and more realistic and they last longer between kills.

In auto-aim lobby you see people going double digit kills on each other all the time. The deaths just pile on so fast and it's feels a little too arcady and superficially inflated... FLASH!! YOU'RE F*ckING DEAD. FLASH BOOM!! NOW HE'S DEAD. OKAY AGAIN!!! COME AT ME BRAH!!

In free aim you get a fighting chance to cover and fire effectively, bullets spray and ricochet around you for a while before finding their way to your chest+head.

It's just more realistic and authentic feeling.. or at the very least more like the movies.

Sorry, but real fire fights are about conserving ammo and making shots count, free aim is probably a little more realistic in that sense... You were more accurate calling the misses and ricocheting bullets more Hollywood :p
