PC community full of pirates? Lol, like there are no pirates on consoles. There are as much pirates on consoles as on PC. The real reason for them not to release a PC version is because they get more money from consoles and are too damn lazy to make a good port.

 

And to be honest, why haven`t developers made it so that you can`t pirate the PC game, why haven`t they made it so it is a living hell to crack it and wouldn`t just get cracked within an hour after release? Once again the same answer: lazy as sh**. It`s easier to say: "Well, PC is full of pirates, there is nothing we can do about it, so F you".

 

Maybe when Steam Machines become more mainstream and SteamOS (that is based on Linux) will be the main if not the only PC OS that will support games (with some exceptions to older titles and stuff), maybe then we will see some tricks from Valve and devs to actually take this problem seriously and try to fix it instead of just going "Well, that`s 10 minutes of anti-piracy coding, I give up, lets move on to making the new DLC"

 

The "always online" DRM is a good step forward to solving the problem, but there are some changes to be made.

 

 

I highly doubt they would make "Steam OS" the main OS to support games. That would instantly f*ck over millions of Windows / Mac users. Steam is amazing when it comes to downloading and sharing. But having a Steam based OS is not (in my opinion) going to catch on.

 

Neither are Steam boxes. Which I read somewhere are non-upgradable so you have to buy a new one every 18 months. That's some more bullsh*t from steam there.

It wouldn't surprise me if they'd announce it at the end of this week. It's before the conference (GTA 5's console release date was revealed 6 days or so before the conference), 4 months have passed since the original release, sales for GTA V on console have gone down by quite a bit, then there's this Swedish site where you'll be able to preorder it on Friday and later etc. Seems pretty likely that they'll give us something this week.

But it doesn't have to mean anything. Many stores were already taking GTA V PC preorders and yet GTA V was not announced

 

But if it indeed means something, then we'll most likely see the announcement this week

Well the conference will pretty much tell us if we're going to have it soon or not in the near future (at least till summer)

The second option will both get me frustrated, annoyed and it will suck.

If the Nordic retailer move is any indication, we'll get to see an announcement for March release.

But more probable scenario is today GTA SA for Windows Phone announcement, and Tomorrow or Friday GTA V PC announcement.

 

I wouldn't hold my breath anyways because we might be disappointed. This Swedish retailer thing don't have to mean anything (but I hope it does)

I don't think they will write anything about the GTA SA release for Windows Phone on newswire, they already announced it on Twitter and they announced that it will come for Windows Phone later in the newswire post when Android etc. versions came out.

Well, I was thinking many years in the future. By the looks of it with Windows, they are moving to the phones and tablets, and touch screen. Windows 8 is there to tell you that.

 

At that point the SteamOS would be for games, it wouldn`t be the new generation of PC, it would be as a gaming system. In a way the PS4 and XB1 is. And how would that screw over Windows/Mac users? From what I know Mac is not even close to a gaming device and like I said Windows is slowly drifting away from gaming. I mean MS got the Xbox1, why would they bother to keep Windows for games if SteamOS will whipe them out of the competition.

 

Besides, when SteamOS becomes big, any PC gamers will switch to SteamOS at some point. Valve just needs to make sure they do the stuff right. So in years Steam Machine will be a serious competitor to PS and XB. And the Windows, Mac and Linux will be the OS meant for work and stuff.

 

And about the Steam Machines, yeah they will be upgradable. Valve stated that when you buy the Steam Machine you will be free to swap any parts you like (as long as you can fit them in)* and even change the OS to whichever you like. It`s not a locked down console that you can`t customize in any shape or form. Steam Machine is a pre-built PC that runs OS that is a PC/Console hybrid. You can build your own version of Steam Machine by just building your own PC and run SteamOS on it. Of course there will probably be optimization for their specific Steam Machine model. With PCs there is the thing that there are millions of different build possible so the optimization is impossible to do for every build, but if you have lets say 10 builds, that sound possible.

 

I personally will stick to Windows 7 and my own custom built PC, but when the time comes I`m going to switch to SteamOS or maybe even buy the Steam Machine.

 

* Have you seen the Gigabyte version of Steam Machine? It`s in the size of a controller. So small.

It's not a matter of how this preorder will look like, it's a matter why they are opening a preorder for a game that isn't officially announced, that's why we're discussing here a possibility of a tomorrow or the day after tommorow announcement.

They can announce it whenever, the thing is if they're gonna decide to announce it late February we will not be playing the game until June in my opinion.

It's incredibly unlikely they will announce it next week, since then it wouldn't be mentioned in the earning's conference (everything that is mentioned is public knowledge to my knowledge as it's a meeting for investors). If it's going to happen soon, it needs to happen really soon.

THIS week, or ultimately Monday (day of Take Two conference) are the last days when they can announce it if they want to release the game before June

 

If no announcement by then, we can say bye bye to GTA V PC before June

I won't be impressed if WD kicks V's ass when it's released. Rockstar deserves it for being so cocky and not announcing this sh*t already, but deep down i think WD will suck :(.

i Never thought i would say that : I would Love to See WD kicks V's ass ... they Really deserves it.

I also had the Same Feeling Deep Down that WD isn't that Good but I watched a 14 Minute gameplay Video of the ps4 Version today ( you guys might know this Video Already becouse its nothing New) And I Must say , Pretty impressive. this Baby looks damn Good .. the City is Even more detailed as V And the car Handling Looks much better than the sh*t Rockstar did with V.

Ubisoft > Rockstar

 

Its not the car physics that Im worried about at V. Its AI.

Wow so many annoying bugs in that video, I hope there won't be so much in the PC version cause basically a lot of them are caused by the console limitations and optimalization issues.

The second thing is that if it's true that PC version has been developed side-by side it should have less or at least different bugs. I'm really curious because that engine getaway used in GTA IV is really a good thing and now it's not included on consoles ? And so many others ...

R* should watch that video (if they have nothing to speek on the conference lol)
