GFWL was terrible but RGSC ain't much better, It's still annoying that you have to log in after launching the game. It would be great if it used Steamworks as a primary DRM but then it woukd mess up all the crews, statistics and all that sh*t I don't care about.

To be fair, I hardly notice RGSC anymore. It took some getting used to at first, but it isn't nearly as intrusive or annoying as GFWL. And I actually kind of like some of the custom stats for specific games it displays. Like when you press Home, it displays Rockstar's tweets to the right and, in the case of LA Noire, your cases and desks.

 

 

So much talks of being "cool" and" chill" above me. I can't resist.

They won't use Steam because it's a third party DRM, the reason they used GFWL before was because they did not have Rockstar Social Club, however since RDR the Social Club has always been integrated with the main game, so yeah they will use it because it's much easier for them to keep things in house as opposed to deal with Valve's bullsh*t . I mean they have to pay them if they want to use their service right, so why pay them when you can do it yourself, logic . Honestly I think Rockstar wants to have the Social Club be like Origin and Uplay of EA and Ubisoft where they can sell their own PC games digital without sharing the profit with Valve .

Social Club is, just that, a social club. Nothing more. It's DRM. But it's still a place of social interaction between crews and various Rockstar game fanbases.

 

In the case of GTA V, it doesn't matter if it's Steamworks or not to me. Just sell it on Steam and have both Social Club and Steam integrated in there. Just like Max Payne 3.

Oh, I hate this so much. Every game developing company is now making their own DRM launcher. We have Steam, Origin, uPlay, now R*SC is coming in, soon we`ll have Activision, Overkill, etc launchers. In 2016 we won`t have game icons on our desktop but only launcher icons. This is ridiculous. We had Steam for a long time, everything was fine, then Origin appeared and everyone started to freak out.

 

So now when I want to play TF2 I`ll launch Steam, when I`ll play Titanfall it`s gonna be Origin, Far Cry 4 is gonna be uPlay, GTA5 = R*SC. Aaaah. Stupid!

Yesterday i bought MP3. Because we have to wait so long vor Gta 5, i want to play a Game as good as V in the meantime. You Guys dont expected the Graphics etc, of V PC, better as MP3, so i hope MP3 has perfect Graphics etc, so i can play a good Game.

 

Hell, im just stuck in the Downloadprocess of the huge Patches of MP3, because of lame Net-Connection. Hope V for PC will not have such Complications to start the game, as MP3 and Gta4.

 

Where are the times you bought the game, installed it and played?

 

Nowadays you have to install Millions of Programms of Bullsh*t, like in Gta 4. So im not wondering, why people download cracks etc., for a game they bought, just to get every f*cking game at least to start. I expect R* to develop the game perfectly, so its worth to wait a couple of Month more. It will be make a lots people angry, if they make bullsh*t in various Aspects of the Game.

Valve and Steam are a huge reason why PC gaming is so prosperous. I'd say drop the hate and just join the fun. But whatever, it's personal preference. Although I can't see why you'd prefer having 3 or 4 different DRM services installed on your PC when they can all just be one, lol. If every developer follows the same example, we'd have a pretty restrictive and annoying gaming future in front of us.

 

I could say a lot more, as I find several parts of your reply very annoying and disrespectful. But I'll shut up and choose not to derail the topic any further.

So because I don't kiss Valve's ass and don't believe everything they touch is gold I am annoying and disrespectful, ok bro whatever you say ! And no, if I were me i'd prefer not to have DRM at all but if I was Rockstar i'd still would not want to share money with someone else, Steam is great if you like indie games, me personally I don't really care as I am more of a AAA game player, and mosty play games on consoles except the ocassional GTA game because of mods, I'm also not a cheap bastard and prefer to pay full price for games to support the developers who made it instead of waiting to go on sale like the majority of Steam users do, which is the only reason Steam is successful anyway but I digress .

What the hell are they waiting for?

Console version has been on sale for 5 months now, do they really think PC gamers are still buying consoles to play this old game? We are not that stupid, R*.

I know you are reading, so please stop being such assholes cause you did it for 5 months already and announce this fkin PC version.

 

IV was announced when the game wasn't ready, do you remember what happened? A delay... V was to be released in October/ November but the game wasn't ready so they needed a few extra months to polish it, that date ends in March, If it's done by then it will get announced a few days after (expect it around 2nd or 3rd week), if it's not it will be internally delayed again and you won't hear about it till it's complete. Once it's complete you'll get an announcement and this way Rockstar is sure there won't be any delays known to the public and everyone will be happy. Simple as that... and this is not speculation, but I won't insist about that anymore.

 

So all you have to do is wait till it's set to be released, unless you want the game released followed by 10 patches in less then 5 months ... IV took 8 to be "acceptable" and even that wasn't for all.

As you may know we found some bugs testing featuring PC version in summer 2012, and you have been saying for months now this game is not a port but it's been developed "in parallel". Console version was "ready" in September, we're now in mid-February and Pc-version still needs some polishing sh*t?! How is this even possible?!

I think PC version is already polished and all, and probably it has been for months now (maybe even before console version?! idk) but they're just not announcing or releasing it for their stupid marketing strategy, or for some strange deal with Microsoft and Sony. Polishing the game my ass.

GTA F, It's really easy to get stuck in a messy argument, if your opinion doesn't match with 90% of the crowd.

It will be really cool if they release the PC Game with everything released so far, bundled in one easy-to-install pack, also they should bring some of the ONLINE exclusive features to SP, in future patches.

lol no, don't worry thats buried and won't return to the surface (I assume, I don't have information for this but I think it's common sense), RSC all the way now. The irony I meant with that picture is the fact that when I go to my settings of my RSC account the backgrounds that before were from MAX PAYNE 3, now are all from GTA V, a game that isn't even acknowledged by them. But far as I remember that never happened with RDR, I don't remember getting RDR backgrounds in my RSC profile, although I had of MP3. Well, not a big deal just ironic.

Well I said it plenty of times in the past 2 weeks and I honestly understand everyone that doubts me, but I hope you also understand when I say I cannot give any factual proof (although I have) that I got this information from an insider within Rockstar, I guarantee it is 100% real, before I used to make speculations and I wrote long texts to explain my way of thinking, now I'm giving information I actually know for sure. About 2 weeks ago when I said this everyone thought we would get an announcement by February and to be honest if you read my posts before that day I thought the same, but since I got this information I know for sure how the game is being developed and why there wasn't an announcement yet and what has going on in the past months when we thought the game was being released. And it's good to know that with people even doubting my word that almost everyone is "mentally prepared" to get something only in March... and I can also say as a fact that Rockstar liked this and my "leak" wasn't so bad, in fact was quite the opposite.

 

Anyway you're free to think in what you want to believe, but what I'm saying is true and you'll see it happen and no it's not wishful thinking or guessing the "obvious", because with Rockstar there is no such thing.

 

We're 12 days away of March, to the 2nd or 3rd week is a small jump... if they are done by the deadline, if not there will be another internal delay and we won't get anything till it's completed. But rest assured I changed my signature again for a strong reason...

I dont have a problem w/ the "V" being sold through steam. I'm not sure why R* would either as previous R* games have been and are still being sold through steam. They have individual games and I think now they have a "pack" w/ like GTA III, VC, SA, IV, EFLC etc all of this for like $50US. My machine is pretty outdated so it doesnt run IV very well and certainly not w/ steam also running in the bkgrnd but I just terminate steam after IV loads and all is well, otherwise it causes an intermittent split-second pause in the game. Many others are not quite as *friendly* terminate them and the game also terminates. Uplay I've had worse issues with just on getting games to run at all.

Actually, Steam Machines can beat consoles out of the market if Valve does things right.

some are saying that the PC version is likely to be complete, but with the way that things have been going as of late and next gen consoles using x86 processors I wouldn't be at all surprised if R* want to consider adding Linux support too...

 

As I'm sure that the PS3 & PS4 don't support Microsoft's DirectX they could be looking into OpenGL support to make it work on then and SteamOS & Ubuntu etc...

 

But I'm just guessing.

I should add that when I say "the way things are going" I'm talking about people slowly losing interest in Microsoft latest desktop OS due to the lack of familiarity and deciding that if they're going to have to make such a big change then they will look at alternatives which are mostly based on Linux/Unix

I seriously doubt that. Consoles will be cheaper then those steam machines. Plus, have you ever heared of "name recognition". Most consumers go with the brands they have seen or heared of before. Everyone knows what Xbox and Playstation are. Most people have never heared of Steam before.

Test it. Go to a store or a park or something and ask people. You'll see that I'm right.

 

I rather just stick to my PC and real console, tyvm.

I'm not being really active on the Forums in those days, and believe me i had no clue what you are talking about.

So let me understand that: you got this "information" (regarding the game being polished?!) about 2 weeks ago, from an insider in R* Games and you are 100% sure about what you are saying (I heard it too many times but whatever). Anyway, I want to believe you because I think you're one of the most serious and respectable users that frequent this topic, so let me ask you one question. You're talkin about a march announcement if no internal delay will come, right? But when is the game expected to be released? 1 month later? Summer 2014?!

I don't want you to say what your insider friend said, and this would not be even possible obv, just your opinion about that.

Steam Machines are sort of marketed to those who have consoles, not those who already have PCs.

 

A Steam Machine like CyberPowerPC's (i5, GTX 760, 8GB RAM, 500GB storage, $499) can definitely beat out the Xbox One, if not the PS4, if everything is done right.
